We were completely satisfied and would have liked to stay longer if we could. We were delighted with the quiet location. The rooms are simple, the hot tub invites you to linger in the evening and the breakfast is lovingly prepared by the owners. We will gladly come back again.

The free sauna room starts at 8 o'clock, no reservation is required, and it is very clean. There were too many people in the pool, so I couldn't soak in it. The breakfast is quite rich, and the landlady is very friendly. The decoration of the corridor is very interesting I sent an email in advance to inform that I was on a honeymoon trip, and they sprinkled small heart sequins on the bed for me, and even arranged a room with a good view (the end of the corridor is not very noisy 😊) A homestay that can feel caring and warm is worth it!

Very clean, self check-in (the key with your name is in the information bag at the front desk), there is a shoe rack at the entrance door, shoes cannot be worn in, so remember to bring slippers. The shower has a door but there is no tape underneath so water will flow out. Breakfast quality is very good. Overall, I would recommend it to friends.

Located on a small hill not too far from the town of Selfoss, this is a small guesthouse in a calm and pleasant setting, with a beautiful view from the window and peaceful surroundings. There is a parking lot right by the entrance to the guesthouse. We arrived later into the evening and were able to check-in towards 10 PM. The common area was sparkling clean, and so was the room - the guests are encouraged to store their shoes at the shoe rack by the entrance to avoid bringing any dirt into the house. The WIFI worked decently well, and we were pleased with the breakfast - it was sufficient to set up up for the day. Hairdryers are centrally stored by reception, and you need to grab one before going into the shower. Overall, decent guesthouse with one thing that I would consider changing. The reason why we were not completely happy has to do with the fact that there was no shower gel / shampoo in the bathroom. For the price (and I would imagine adding a humble shampoo wouldn't cost a leg), including a shampoo/shower gel should not have been an issue. And for the travellers who landed in the country on the evening before checking in, we didn't think to visit a supermarket to buy some shower gel/shampoo - and funnily enough, we bought it right thereafter, and we didn't need it throughout our trip in Iceland.

Rooms were clean and comfy, the hot tub was great, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic, which was a nice plus. Wish we would have stayed here longer. The price was also great and the staff was super helpful and friendly.

I don't know what it is with being in Iceland but the beds have all been superb. Very soft and comfortable, and the quilts are exceptional. Insofar as the location here, it is fantastic. Super quiet, remote and in a stunning location. The rooms are great, very comfortable and roomy. They are warm, cosy and the bathroom was immaculately clean and spotless. Great shower too! There was a kettle and tea/coffee in the room, although no TV (but I think that is a definite plus here). The views are amazing, and the peace and tranquility of this location are fabulous. Navigation is easy using sat-nav although I wasn't 100% sure of the hotel as there wasn't a sign outside of the actual place, but I should have checked images before! The breakfast was great, plentiful, fresh and the coffee was a great kick start in the morning. Thank you for a lovely place, I would definitely recommend it especially if you plan on doing some of the activities locally.

Everyone we met at this hotel was friendly and kind. Our room was clean and quiet. The hot tub was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and the dining room was pleasant and comfortable. And, we easily photographed the northern lights behind this hotel. Excellent visit.

Very hospitable hosts, self-check-in. We stayed one night. A great location off of Rt. 1 driving the southern coast. Breakfast was ample with a make-your-own waffles option. Was easy to find. The only drawback was that maybe it was just our room, but there weren't any bath products. Would recommend. We went into town for dinner.

This is a lovely guesthouse with private bathrooms and very clean. The breakfast buffet had an excellent selection. The location was very quiet though very convenient to Route 1. We enjoyed being on a farm and walking around to see the animals. This was our favorite guesthouse of the entire 11 nights in Iceland.

Our family of 3 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the hospitality of the hosts and their attention to detail. Beds were very comfortable. In-room travel guides and restaurant suggestions were helpful. Hot tub and sauna on site is a nice amenity. Location is in pretty countryside but still convenient to Selfoss.

I grew up around farms in Kentucky and felt right at home here. The farm proper is up a small hill and the guests stay in a modern bunkhouse down below. The sitting area is cozy and comfortable adorned with many plants. The room itself was quite clean and the shower worked well. Blackout curtains were helpful and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was ample with a large variety of items such as cereals, breads, homemade jam, fruits, cheeses and meats. You could even make your very own waffles. Great scenic location just outside of Selfoss, but not too far to be able to quickly drive into town for dinner for supplies. Beware, there is a speed camera along the way. Overall, a very pleasant and safe stay. I'd definitely stay again.

We had a very enjoyable experience and were able to see the Northern Lights from the comfort of our room window. The family who own the Lambastadir Guesthouse were both welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our morning breakfast and found our location easily accessible to the Golden Circle and our trip to Vik. The family’s friendly horses were also an added treat!
