An excellent country escape: half a dozen of us celebrated a special occasion together and our night and day at the hotel felt like a little holiday. When we had a dip in the pool we were brought chilled wine and extra towels. When we asked to push back the time for our dinner reservation to swim longer it was no trouble. And when I confessed to having a ridiculously long list of food intolerances, I was provided with a perfectly adapted starter and main course for dinner in the auberge, and lovely natural almond milk at breakfast. All the staff were really friendly and genuine. Couldn’t be more happy and can’t wait to go again.

We were a party of 5 adults with 3 rooms. Our stay at the Hotel de I'llwald was a standout during a 2-week trip. It's in an idyllic location, just outside of town, with easy access to major roadways. Our rooms were charming and comfortable. Dinners were delicious; waitstaff were welcoming and helpful. They made wonderful recommendations of Alsatian wines, for example. But the real treat? Breakfast. Real care had been taken in putting it together. We enjoyed the most delicious freshly made yogurts, breads, jams, cheeses -- you name it. Fresh fruit in season. Hot pot of delicious coffee. It set us up for full days of exploring. Well after our trip, folks in our party would say: "You know what was great? The Hotel de I'llwald!" And it was.

Today we wanted to spend the night at this hotel, unfortunately we were not welcome while we have labradoodle dogs that do not shed etc. it seems good to adjust the site to that only 1 (small) dog is allowed. Whereas now it says they are welcome. Missed Hospitality opportunity.

Cela est notre 2 eme visite et nous adorons cet hôtel. Les chambres sont grandes et climatisée en été . Il y a bcp d’espace. La propriété a bcp de charme et de caractère . Le parton et son fils sont super sympa et très serviable. Surtout la réceptionniste qui s’occupe aussi des chambre et qui travaille au resto est très serviable et toujours le sourire. Mais c’est surtout la beauté de l’hôtel et le caractère qui nous plaît. Sans oublier cette sublime piscine avec un système au sel qui permet de garder l’eau si propre et clair. Mon fils m’a dit que il a jamais vu une piscine aussi propre. Et nous on adore la piscine pour son calme et sa beauté . Il y a un restaurant que nous avons pas eu le temps de tester. Ni le petit déjeuner comme on se lève tard. Il y a aussi un sauna et hammam et salle de fitness que nous avons pas utiliser car il faisait trop chaud donc on préférait se rafraîchir dans cette magnifique piscine . Mon fils et notre amie de Chine ont adore les alentours car le voisin a des chiens que on pouvait caresser et il y aussi bcp de promenade à faire autour de l’hôtel. L’hôtel est à 5 km de selestat centre ou de la zone des supermarchés donc idéale pour aller faire du shopping ou déjeuner .

Die Zimmer sind ok, aber halt ohne Liebe eingerichtet. Sehr billig im Nuller-Jahre-Stil. Die Betten schieben sich bei der kleinsten Bewegung durch den Raum, die Dusche ist nur was für Gelenkige… Preis gerade noch ok. Wir haben die Übernachtung nicht bereut, würden das Hotel aber auch nicht weiterempfehlen.

Hier stimmt alles : eine wunderschöne, mit viel Liebe und Geschmack gestaltete Anlage, sehr schöne Zimmer und eine ausgezeichnete Küche. Wir kommen seit vielen Jahren vor allem in das Restaurant, das nicht nur ein gemütliches Ambiente und einen lauschigen Garten, sondern vor allem eine gleichbleibend exzellente Küche bietet. Da steht mit Marc Schwartz ein Könner am Herd. Der Service ist effizient und ausserordentlich freundlich. Alles in allem haben Christian und Brigitte Schwartz hier ein veritables Kleinod geschaffen, das man uneingeschränkt empfehlen kann.
