Vorab: es ist müßig, sich über die Preise an der deutschen Küste aufzuregen. Ja, es ist völlig überzogen, aber es ist wie es ist, entweder man lebt damit, oder man reist eben woanders hin. Zum Hotel: der Check-In war schnell und reibungslos. Alles war gut organisiert und freundlich, wenn auch herzlich wohl die falsche Wortwahl wäre. Das Zimmer war sauber und in ordentlichem Zustand, das Bad wurde scheinbar erst vor Kurzem renoviert, beim Zimmer scheint man zugunsten des Siebzigerjahredesigns auf eine Renovierung verzichtet zu haben. Der Teppichboden ist charakterstark, möchte man sagen. Die Möbel sind von hoher Qualität, nur so können sie Jahrezehnte der Nutzung so gut und nahezu spurenlos überstanden haben. Wirklich sehr gut war das Frühstück. Der Service war okay, die Auswahl und die Qualität der Speisen hoch. Was allerdings in einem Vier-Sterne-Haus mit dem hiesigen Preisniveau einfach überhaupt nicht geht, ist die Frage beim Check-In, ob man denn der Umwelt zuliebe auf das Housekeeping verzichten wolle. Wenn nicht (und da wird einem schon suggeriert, dass das nicht sehr nett wäre) müsse man das Housekeeping 24 Stunden im Voraus an der Rezeption oder mit dem Suitepad (dessen Handhabung eine ziemliche Katastrophe ist) bestellen. Ich habe vollstes Verständnis dafür und finde es absolut richtig und wichtig, dass nicht mehr täglich Handtücher und Bettwäsche getauscht werden. Aber welchen Einfluss es auf die Umwelt haben soll wenn jemand die Betten macht, ist mir unklar. Da geht es wohl eher um wirtschaftliche Einflüsse... Durch die 24-Stunden-Regelung war also ein Housekeeping für den Tag nach der Ankunft schonmal nicht möglich. Für die restlichen Tage haben wir das Housekeeping über das Suitepad für jeden Tag bestellt, was uns auch per Mail bestätigt wurde. Geklappt hat es dann an sage und schreibe zwei von fünf Tagen. Seltsam fanden wir auch, dass wir trotz Impfung einen Negativtest vorweisen mussten ("Im Sinne der Fairness"), dann aber in der ganzen Woche keine Testnachweise verlangt wurden. Hört die Fairness nach dem ersten Test auf oder muss dann niemand weitere Tests vorlegen (was ich etwas irritierend fände). Alles in allem war unser Aufenthalt im Upstalsboom okay, aber für uns eher keine Wiederholungsoption.
