Clean and friendly

This venue was booked months in advance for a group of over 100 people, expecting a well-organized experience—but it fell far short. The rooms were as hot as Hades, making it extremely uncomfortable. Smelt very musty. Communication between reception, rooms, and the restaurant was disjointed from the start. The restaurant could only seat four people every 15 minutes, which is shocking considering the group size was known in advance. With just one chef, service was extremely slow and poorly managed. We’d already pre-booked breakfast before realizing what a sham the setup was. There was no greeting, no staff checking if we were guests, and we even had to clear and clean our own tables—which is unacceptable at this price point, be aware there are no decaffeinated tea bags. Speaking of pricing, the cost of drinks was unbelievable—well above reasonable rates for the quality and service provided. It was so bad, we chose not to eat at the restaurant for the rest of the weekend. The only redeeming aspect was the staff themselves—friendly and doing their best under tough conditions—but they were clearly overwhelmed and unsupported. With proper staffing, coordination, and honest pricing, this could’ve been a decent stay. Unfortunately, we left feeling let down and overcharged.

Disappointed arrived later than expected due to flight delay had no contact no on us so couldn’t ring but when arrived was told booked as a no show so had problems getting in but have booked in to try again in may did stay at Plymouth and that was amazing

Quite a surprise this one. Didn’t expect much as the outside is quite foreboding but inside is a modern, clean hotel. Typical Premier Inn fayre. Quiet, well maintained modern rooms that afforded a good night’s sleep. We ate in the Thyme restaurant on site and food both evening and morning was really good. Special mention to Emmy our server in the evening who was engaging, funny and right on the ball. Wish all staff in every hotel took a leaf out of her book. So overall a surprisingly enjoyable stay.

On arrival I didn’t hold much hope for my 1 night stay. The curb appeal was off putting with a very full over flowing bin with rubbish strewn around and cigarette ends all over the entrance floor. I appreciate check in is 3pm, I arrived at around 2.20pm to be told I had to pay an additional £15! For a checkin 40minutes early. I asked if I could be allocated a quiet room as I’m an extremely light sleeper, only to be told no, the hotel was full and all rooms are pre allocated which I found absolutely bizarre that they cannot allocate on arrival. I waited in the closed bar area for 40mins. I was allocated room 125 on the first floor over looking the road side. Considering the hotel was ‘full’ it was quiet and I wasn’t disturbed and my room was of a very clean standard. I think a little less attitude from the Receptionist on check in and it would have been a better score.
