We stayed here before our Alaska Cruise and had a very good experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Rooms include a mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, iron, and safe. Dove bath products are provided. Hair dryer is attached to the bathroom wall. The front desk staff were so polite and professional at every interaction. We did pay for the package that included breakfast at Toast and Toast restaurant next door to the hotel. Food was good and generous portions. Coffee is not included so take a little cash with you. Short walk to the Space Needle. Upon check in, we signed up for the shuttle to the cruise port for $10 a person plus tip. Driver was on time, very friendly. Although we did see a few homeless people, we never felt unsafe.

The geographical advantage, the roommates staying are also very conscious, will not affect each other. There is space under the bed for storing large boxes for $2. Breakfast is simple.

Great place: excellent location, very clean and nice set up. Good value for the price.

We have stayed in this gem of a hotel at least five times now, and it is consistently excellent. Seattle offers many lodging options, and this hotel has become our favorite. We love this small chain and have stayed in nearly all of them. This Seattle hotel is the jewel in the crown as far as we're concerned, not necessarily because it is the most fancy but because the staff always go out of their way to make the experience a genuinely welcoming one. The pineapple theme is charming, and this particular hotel layers in a fun 60s theme that is upbeat and nicely done. The rooms and lobby are always immaculate, the bedding among the most comfortable of any upper-end hotels, the amenities are appealing without being pretentious. Self-Parking is safe and easy on the premises, creative snacks are offered at the desk, and the rates are among the most affordable for an area that is often challenging. We hope that someday they are able to bring back their breakfast and cute bar. The staff is consistently helpful, genuinely warm, and consummately professional, going out of their way to find ways of making our stay memorable. This particular University Inn managed to do this even in the worst days of the pandemic lockdown when we had to be in the area for serious reasons. We really appreciate the kindness and high quality that the management of this hotel manages to find in exceptional caliber of its hotel staff, especially at a time when so many organizations are struggling to keep even minimum staffing levels. We were anticipating a better experience due to its rating. The hotel appears that it has been renovated, but is now looking dated and a bit worn. There’s $20 per night garage parking under the hotel. Check in was fast. The room is larger than average, with refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. The bath has a tub shower and a unique motion sensor fan. Our room had a view of the building next door 6 feet away, but no street noise at least . Lots of cute pineapple themed items could not make up for the very marginal king mattress. Also some hallway noise until after midnight. Unless you need to be next to the university, you should check other options, until it gets some updates.

The price is reasonable, the room is clean and comfortable, the bed is soft enough, the location is convenient, and the service is friendly. However, the parking fee is high and you can park on the roadside overnight, and the breakfast is very poor.

I am going to Seattle for business purposes this time, and I chose Astra Hotel because it is close to my workplace. It is a newly opened hotel, and the rooms are mainly white, giving a very bright and airy feel. The hotel staff is polite, but when I checked in, they forgot to give me breakfast vouchers. Surprisingly, there was no electric kettle in the room, so when I got hungry at night and wanted to make a cup of instant noodles, I had to go to the front desk to ask for help. The hotel's location is great, it is convenient to go to Space Needle, the lakeside, and even downtown.

We chose this place due to the price and proximity to the UW Medical center where my wife spent some time. Started with a room that had a shared bathroom which was fine. Bathroom and showers were very clean. Moved to a room with a private bath after 4 nights which was more our speed. The location is great for all things UW. We really enjoyed the Loft upstairs. A nice lounge with pretty full kitchen, communal fridges big tables and the coffee and tea were always on and well stocked. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor and no elevator. Try to avoid the rooms on University Way if you can. Very noisy with buses, cars and trucks. Normally we’d choose an Airbnb over a hotel but having the kitchen was great. Lots of dining options all around. University Village is only a mile walk.

My wife booked our stay at the Inn as a jumping off point for our Alaska cruise. In hindsight, I should have overruled her decision. The Inn does have a lot of history and the concierge told us it dated back to 1928. At one time, it appears to have been a hospital and the layout of the rooms reflect that. There is NO air conditioning, NO bar and NO restaurant. There is a small coffee pot in the room and they gladly provide you with a packet for one serving of coffee. The bed was confortable and everything was clean, but the property is dated and in need of refresh. Were I to describe the inn, I would simply say she is a penniless dowager far past her prime. My recommendation is stay elsewhere.
