Check in was pretty easy. The hotel room it’s self wasn’t as horrible as the comments say. My room didn’t smell like mold or anything. It did have some small flaws such as the trimming was chipped and the carpet was missing in a small section of a corner but nothing horrific at all. They are up dating and seems like they have been for some time so those thing may change in the future. If you on a budget and need something cheap this is a great place. Location is great. The owners seems super nice. They did have a small breakfast, which some people complained about but it’s better then nothing. They had waffles, yogurt, dry cereal, coffee juices, fruits etc. I didn’t swim but the pool was in service and it was full of people swimming. Walls are kinda thin but not a big issue. Happy with my stay!

We had so many issues with this hotel it's hard to know where to begin. Number one is the price for the dilapidated condition of this hotel. It's rating of " fair" is generous. I have stayed at a lot of Red Lion's and this one is a fail. They claim the spa is under maintenance and show photos of it, but my photos show it quite different, and the sauna had a padlock on it. The worst of all was the nail sticking point up through the plywood bed platform. We did not discover this until our third night and were horrified to discover it. We were traveling with a toddler and an infant. On the day we discovered it we had other family with 2 toddlers stop in. We feel fortunate no one was hurt I forgot to take a picture of the smoke alarm dangling from the ceiling, especiallyin the light that we were rudely sent away because we were an hour and 15 minutes early. The housekeeping crew that prevented our arrival surely had time to notice both the nail and the smoke alarm, but failed to look after the safety of their guests. I realize it is Seaside but at the price tag of this room the very lesst I would expect is making sure it is safe, especially having been aware we were traveling with small children. Red Lion should compensate me and please don't stay here.

This hotel was so gross. We ended up there because there was no other places available and we would have slept in our car. The room was in horrible shape and we killed a coach roach as we walked into the room. The outside door barely shut and was not sealed correctly. The floor was so gross, we wore our shoes the whole time, including while we showered. The door stop had TP shoved in the stopper. The bathroom door had holes. It was all together a horrible place. To make matters worse we paid over 700 dollars for 2 nights because it was Hood to Coast weekend. We could not get out of there fast enough in the mornings and didn’t go back till we had to sleep at night. Would never stay there again.

Wow.. I have never seen such a filthy and nasty facility, I had let my kids book a spaces for while visiting the seaside for vacation. The front desk ladies looked not so clean..(Front Desk) The chubby lady at the front desk kept whispering at the other skinnier lady whenever asked a question, zero customer service. not sure what they were discussing, we were booked for a large 3 beds but instead we were given a small room with two small beds. As we walked in the rooms we were greeted by number of roaches. I had booked for couple days.. after the night of checking in.. i decided to book a vacation home.. left the dirty nasty Red lion the next the day and never returned to finished my stay. Ladies at the front desk were not helpful didn't even bother to look into my concern. Please avoid this place completely unless you enjoy a bug friend.

Our experience started out disappointingly and we should have taken that as a sign of things to come - we had to call 3x to verify the pool was open, and to confirm rate for New Years Eve. Was quoted 2-3 different rates by people, all higher than what we saw online. Took it anyway, just wanted to have pool for daughter to swim in and Red Lions are nice, right? Wrong. No posted sign outside unless you're driving from the North and it was sitting on the ground leaning. Dog poop on the ground welcomed guest – it was by front driveway planter where you check in and remained there our entire stay (2 nights). Room was ok, comfortable but dated. Of the 2 sink faucets, one was old and missing part of the handle and it came off when we tried to used it. The pool area especially is in dire need of an overhaul...cracked tiles, rusted window sills and dingy. Looking out our window, there was an empty lot that had piles of garbage in it. Outside had new siding (that's good...looks like work in progress). Rest of property is in dire need of updating or at least maintenance. I wouldn't have been surprised if I had seen duct tape holding something together. Had to wait for pool towels a couple of times even after several people requested them. Front desk staff was nice, but not wearing a mask at any point we went there (several times, and could also see then from pool area). This, despite a big sign on front door - "masks required" and customers wearing them. We needed an extra key at some point. and the sign on front desk said "back in 15." We waited 20 and no sign of anyone...we just needed to get into the pool area and my spouse had left to get coffee with both our keys, so we just took a key card from the checkout box, used it to get in, then put it back. Not ideal, but problem solved by an impatient 9-yr old. Signage throughout complex was mix of new and old (old Shilo Inn?). My daughter refused to shower there, said it looked dirty (it was just very outdated and stained, including moldy-looking grout). Sounds like owners need some hotel mgt. and maintenance training if they want to make a go of this hotel.

Overall, this place is in desperate need of renovation and updating. I do want to highlight the things that were good first. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a large group staying in multiple rooms for a family reunion. Our room was a three bed room. The beds themselves were clean and had fresh sheets. Our room was stocked with towels, soap, etc. The breakfast area, although a bit small for seating area, was clean and well stocked. As for the negative, it was mainly just that this place needs major renovation which is probably outside the control of local staff. Our bathroom door had large pieces frayed on the bottoms and side, the paint was peeling from our entry door, and the carpet was stained and definitely needs replacing. The pool water was a little murky and the photos on the website are outdated (no hot tub as shown on website). The pool did always have a supply of fresh towels. Overall, it was ok for us to stay as a family.

I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed with my visit. The hotel definitely needs some MAJOR TLC - everywhere! Pros: beds and linens were clean. General appearance of the room was clean - beds made, pillows fluffed, no garbage on floor, nothing on counters, sinks or in tub. Supplies were well stocked - lotion, soap, face wash napkins, shampoo and conditioner. All appliances worked. Heating and Cooling in the room was great! Cons: Maintenance needed on doors. Door to room on main level facing outside parking lot had weather stripping missing. Door to bathroom had water damage at the bottom. Bathroom started smelling like mold or something when we turned on the hot water to shower. Shower curtain needs a good disinfecting. Pool was shut down due to cleaning for longer than they said. Hot tub is cemented over!!! No pic or anything showed this!!! This was a main reason we booked here. Tiles missing in the pool room. Personal observations - staff looked shocked when I walked in... no greeting - 4 people at the counter and no one greeted me... just "Name on reservation". I thought it was me...so I tried to be kind and smile. Nothing in return. Came back next day to ask for towels because we didn't know the room would not be cleaned unless we requested it. Walked up to the counter with two people there, greeted them and stated my situation - still no greeting... one person behind the counter pointed at a sign and said "Yeah, you have to ask for it". Asked for towels and was told they would bring some.. nothing was ever brought to our room or communicated. Overall - I would suggest they update their site to list current amenities available. I would also suggest they list their "no room cleaning policy" in a better spot and put it on the site. I would suggest they have maintenance do some up-keep on the property. I would also suggest some customer service training.

The helpful staff was kind and check in was easy, with an all night front desk. The room was larger than I expected with plenty of soaps and even lotion. Good amenities and breakfast too boot! Great price, will be coming back

Do not stay here. We spent almost $400 to stay in this s***hole. The place is filthy and broken down. When we got there, our room was not ready, and we had to wait an hour and a half before it was ready. When we went inside there were dirty towels still in the room from the last guest. The soaps at the sink were already used and unwrapped. There was no conditioner, only shampoo. The pool was filthy, and there were newspapers in the lobby with articles regarding pool safety that name dropped this Red Lion location specifically for their unsafe pool… when we return to the lobby, an employee told us that “the pool problem was fixed and it’s safe to swim now”. We were never told there was a problem in the first place, so I’m very glad we didn’t swim. At the end of our stay when we went to check out, we wanted to speak with a manager regarding the things stated above. The man at the front desk hardly spoke English, but managed to tell us that there was no manager on site during the weekend… DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE.
