Glendale Motel

You need to keep in mind two things: 1) you get what you pay for and 2) this is a typical no frills old, run-down seaside motel (which, in my opinion, has a certain type of charm) That said, yes, it is run down-- the building and the room. Our room on the third floor was pretty gross. Weird unfinished wood paneling, burn holes in the comforters, flat pillows, furniture had burn marks and scratches. In the bathroom, the door didn't close all the way, there were floor tiles missing, the ceiling was falling down, the tub faucet did not shut completely off, it ran all night, loudly. There was also a hole in the wall behind the toilet; I'm assuming it's for access to pipes, but... Ew. I don't want to see that. Theres rust all around the room, like the edges of the bathroom mirror, and the room's door. Again, that's kind of expected in a beachy area. The pool was small, and a couple of the loungers were broken, but the pool was a great time!! nice to relax at. My 10 year old loved it! The best part --------- *****LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!!!!! ***** As long as you don't mind the lack of cosmetic appeal, this is a great little spot! Just a couple of steps away from a happening boardwalk! Don't forget shower shoes or slippers.

Awful from top to bottom. Dirty. Damaged. Old. Unsafe. Bugs. Expensive as hell. But the worst part is... their front desk is closed (yes, closed) overnight with no emergency number. Have a problem? You're out of luck. We checked in just before closing, got our key and went up to our room, but the key wouldn't open the door and the office had closed. So we went to the room number on the key and it opened, put down our stuff, and went out to find food. When we came back we met the other people with the key to that room, who fortunately were very nice. Also fortunately they were there with a large group with multiple people, so they very kindly let us stay in the room and they stayed somewhere else. There was no staff on property at that hour at all, no one to help, no one to complain to. We had to meet at the office the next morning to figure it all out. I believe the other party got their money back, we had to pay $169/night for a filthy, ancient room that other people had keys to.
