I took my brother and sister in law to the Tavern for lunch for his birthday, and I was so much more pleasantly surprised than I can say. The owner Arnaud is so welcoming, and sincere about it... Our waitress Kim was so much fun and professional... The food was perfect..as in French perfect with a twist..... We had baked oysters and a bowl of mussels, a version of a Haddock Reuben, Caesar Salad, dessert and cocktails. They have entertainment in the evening and I cannot wait to go back for dinner. Worth every penny and more. They all came out to sing Happy Birthday to my brother. I am writing while I still feel the joy of being there. My new favorite place. Thank you.

Our time in Maine was fantastic and the team at the Homeport Inn & Tavern took great care of my wife and myself. The lodgings were clean and comfy and the staff took care of us with great care. We felt as if we were at home in this beautiful house. The Tavern located within the property had great food and live entertainment, without even leaving this beautiful house.

We had a wonderful meal at the Homeport Tavern. The food and bar drinks were excellent! The building was charming with a really fun band. The host and server were warm, attentive and caring. Too bad we live too far away to come every week. We'll be back!

Upon arrival, there was no one around to greet us and we had a difficult time even gaining access to the building. Entered thru the Tavern and was shown upstairs...waited a long time before someone greeted us to show us our room. Shared a bathroom with another couple...bathroom and towels were not refreshed one time over our two-night stay. I left an expensive personal item...when I called...the lady I spoke to stated it was not found and was probably tossed in the garbage. She didn't take any extra time to ask the cleaning crew if they found it....but assumed it was gone. She also stated the room we stayed in was "turned upside down" hence the reason it was probably trashed. :( We left our room in perfect condition.

It's is a lovely building. I guess we didn't it was tavern dining. Pros Excellent server. Knowledgeable, attentive, friendly. There is a large selection to choose from. Wonderful salad Wonderful dessert Cons Our main courses. The steak was a big disappointment in taste and tenderness. The scallops and shrimp were perfectly cooked. But the sauce would have been better on red meat . (I am a foodie,) From reviews, I was expecting something different.

Stayed in the king room upstairs immaculately clean and high end decor and amenities in bed linens and bath. There is a sink in the room and down the hall was our bath, tub with shower, sink and toilet very large with fluffy towels and Aveda toiletries. The breakfast is served buffet on an enclosed porch accompanying the chandelier out dining table. A complete selection of hot frittatas, quiche , eggs, cold meats and cheeses, freshly sliced fruits and baked croissants and chocolate croissants. Fresh hit coffee and tea Dinner in the tavern on the property is top notch. Chef selection for dinner option along side a regular offering of salads, soups, appetizers, main courses and desserts. The English pub bar is beautiful with plenty of seating and sometimes music The couple owing this property are always at your service in the inn and tavern. Please check out their web pages a beautiful setting and relaxing stay

We did a spontaneous stop in for lunch and were impressed with the hospitality and welcoming the minute we walked in the tavern. Loved the cozy historic atmosphere and the description of the lunch menu and specials by our bartender, also an owner. We had oyster po-boys which were absolutely delicious, freshly made. It was a great find for us. Only feedback is making their road sign a bit more visible, we almost didn't see it (maybe clear a bit of trees hiding it a bit), and maybe a sign at the entrance of parking so you know you are in the right place! We did not stay in the Inn, but it looks lovely. It has that historic vibe to it. If we were staying near, I'm sure we would have stopped in again for a 2nd round for dinner.

We've never stayed but will a little later this year for our anniversary. We have eaten there several times and have enjoyed ourselves each time. Their food and service are outstanding. The tavern/ restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday, or differently, open Wednesday through Sunday...
