Springwood

Booked here basically because parking was included, which is near impossible in Seahouse. So glad we did, as it was perfect in every way, far exceeding expectations. Just a short flat walk into the centre. Breakfasts were superb - a great idea - think only three bedrooms and you book night before your time slot allowing 15 min between each table time choice. You choose your breakfast from menu night before - no problem. We only met the lady hostess once on arrival but Mr Host couldn’t have been more helpful, informative or obliging. Breakfasts are excellent, you choose from an extensive tick off list the night before - there is something for every taste, apart from ‘Marmite’! The bacon was particularly excellent. Everything you could possibly have forgotten is supplied in bedroom, from nail scissors, sewing kit to binoculars. We have stayed at many excellent bed and breakfasts but never one actually better than this. Oh yes - it is also spotlessly clean - you are asked if you want the room serviced each morning - didn’t actually hear anyone say they did, we just asked for some fresh towels on day 3 - no problem. If in the area again, we will certainly stay again - well recommended Oh yes, watching the resident horses exercise each morning was an added bonus!

You choose your breakfast from menu night before - no problem. We only met the lady ‘host’ once on arrival - but ‘Mr’ Host is fabulous - very informative, helpful and couldn’t be more obliging. Room was excellent - everything possible provided from nail scissors, sewing kit, binoculars etc. have stayed in many excellent bed and breakfasts but cannot say any have been any better than this. Only thing missing was - no Marmite at breakfast!!! Will certainly return if visiting area again.

Our third visit to Springwood and we hope it's not our last. Lovely room with a balcony that has stunning views over the fields to the rear of the property. Breakfast once again cooked lovely, using good quality ingredients, and Ian provided plenty of tea and coffee. Rooms serviced on request, every day if required. and tea, coffee, and milk provided. Plenty of large white towels are provided for the bathroom. Best accommodation we have had in Northumberland and we have been many times. Lovely hosts who are both friendly and informative.

GREAT PLACE! Hosts Marian and Sal charming, lovely location 10 minutes walk to town, restaurants and harbour for boat trips to Farne Islsnds bird watching (saw hundreds of puffins!) Comfortable room, great views over riding stables, beautiful setting. Highly recommended.

Hubby & I stayed 3 nights in room 2 The Dunstanburgh. Room 2 is large & bright with the comfiest superkingsize bed, pillows, crisp white cotton bed linen and towels. The bathroom had a bath with an overhead rain shower. I enjoyed bubble baths while my hubby preferred the shower. (Despite it saying toiletries included there was only hand wash so take your own, we were pleased we had done) The breakfasts were delicious , something for everyone and all cooked fresh to order with very good quality products. The panoramic view from our room and balcony was of fields of horses & sheep across to the sea and Dunstanburgh Castle and it was silent ensuring a perfect nights sleep. We were pleased we chose this B&B as we had free parking on site & it was an easy flat 15 minute walk to Seahouses. Seahouses was madly busy so make sure you book restaurants in advance. It was lovely after hectic day exploring to return to the peace and tranquility of our room. (Be aware you aren’t allowed to check in outside the hours of 4 to 6pm. We arrived at 3pm: on arrival nobody answered the door so we phoned & the lady said we could leave our car but wouldn’t let us in to drop our bags or use the loo so we had to quickly leave & drive into Seahouses to find public toilets. It wasn’t a good first impression but thankfully our experience improved when we returned at 4pm)

What a find this was. Perfect in every way. We had a great welcoming from Ian who was very informative and had a wonderful sense of humour. Our room was large, very comfortable and so clean. Much to our delight there was fresh milk in the fridge. It is so quiet here making for a great night's sleep. Breakfast was spot on with top quality ingredients. Very highly recommended.
