The Monarch

The Monarch scammed us and DOUBLE CHARGED us for our stay. When we arrived the front desk employee told us that he couldn’t pull us the ******* reservation and we would have to book direct with the hotel. Having my bag in hand I had little choice in the matter. He ASSURED us that it would be no problem at all getting ******* to refund the charge on their end. ******* is horrible to contact and makes it extremely difficult to reach anyone. I was able to file the complaint and ******* messaged me over the course or 3 days stating that the Monarch wouldn’t return their request to verify our stay. I reached out to Evelyn who said she was a manager. She assured me that this would be taken care of and that she oiled be in touch to let me know that the credit was on the way. CRICKETS! I sent two emails asking for update… Nothing. So a decent deal turned into a VERY overpriced stay. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The resort was very relaxing . Stayed around the smaller pool, which our room backed onto, Because it was very intimate. Rooms were clean, Surroundings were nicely landscaped. Just a great stay.

The front desk said they were giving me a full refund and I have not received it. This was the worst experience of my life. Please do not go here. The woman at the front desk literally smacked my hand away from her computer when I was trying to ask about something. The rooms are horrible and dirty and run down, and the whole place is terrifying. It is not safe here. I could not be there. Absolutely horrific experience.

The pool area was fun. Kind of like a resort feel. Nice coffee shop. Close to Old Scottsdale There’s maintenance that needs to be done with the rooms and elevator. You have to request anything through to the app. I requested towels and they said I will get towels within 24 hours and it never happened.

The location of this property can't be beat. I really appreciate the architecture, fountains & cacti. The loud noises at night, weird noises from the AC & flashing light from the modem or router made it a little difficult to sleep.

Very nice and clean. Great pool and bartenders were amazing. Foods pretty good at the bar! Good beers too

Love the vibe of the property ~ super modern, pool area with DJ and bar is fun…also nice chaise lounges and sitting area around pool. Property itself is beautifully landscaped with bougainvillea everywhere. The room had a cute patio with a table and landscapes nicely. Room itself was clean and suited our needs. It could use a little tlc with paint touch ups, etc…but definitely nothing to deter us from staying again. The restaurant at the property is darling and food was great!

I really enjoyed the location. You couldn’t ask for better in Old Town. The room did not look like the pictures and the bathroom needed a lot of updating. The shower in particular. If you do stay, would recommend attending the pool bar. It was a pleasant surprise

The room was minimalistic but cozy. Beds and pillows were comfortable, towels were nice and the shower was hot with good pressure. The nightlife just outside hotel property was great and a very short walk from our room. We did not take advantage of the pool but from our observation it appeared clean and well maintained. My brother did find his bed sheets to be dirty, and the desk clerk was quick to resolve it. I was satisfied and would return.
