There is a sign in the lobby saying they have a veteran discount, I was told they could not honor it because I booked on *******. Odd, but ok. The back of the hotel was extremely sketchy. Every night I was there I heard at least one argument outside my room during 2-6AM. There was also a car running and someone sleeping in it right in front of my room on my last night. Inside of the room was old, burns on most of the furniture/tub. If you didn't lift the drain to a certain spot the bath water wouldn't drain at all. Also I'm pretty sure there was mold in the ceiling of the bathroom. Pictures were taken. Location was nice for walking to nearby stores and the canal trail.

Good old Motel 6! Pet friendly and basic. Location can’t be beat, right next to Fashion mall, minutes to zoo, botanical garden, Frank Lloyd Wright house. Has a pool that would be the envy of a Hilton. No carpets on floor, yay! No perfume soaked linens. Room very clean. Grounds clean, well marked corner for pet pooping.
Front desk very accommodating. Remember- it is a Motel 6, no fridge, no coffeemaker, no microwave. Neighbors can be, and were, very very noisy.

I checked out early as this was just way too rundown. I have stayed at value motels in past, but this place is just going too far with stretching the life out of everything - towels, beds, sheets. Just not a comfortable stay for me.

THEY CHARGE FOR PARKING - at a MOTEL!!!!
You have to have your card re-keyed every day to get into your room - NO ONE TOLD US THIS UNTIL THE 4TH DAY.
Could be cleaner, quieter, it is seriously outdated.

The accommodations were simple, clean, tidy and in a great location with walking access to all the local amenities.

Staff was nice and location is convenient. The room had a few nicks and the walls were very thin and could hear neighbors. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

If you’re on the bottom floor, you’re likely going to hear the people above you. The first night the people above me were VERY loud, and disrupted my sleep. If it continued, I would have alerted management. But for the remainder of my stay the noise was bearable with my sleephones.
Very clean, climate control worked very well and quietly. Fridge worked great.
I would definitely stay here again if I took another cost-conscious visit to Phoenix/Scottsdale.
