SpringHill Suites Phoenix Scottsdale

This new Springhill Suites (Marriott) is the same as others, which means it's clean and well-designed, with a good breakfast included in the room rate. It's located just north of the Tempe/Scottsdale boundary on North Scottsdale Rd, in an area obviously being developed around the expanding Arizona State University campus. There are new corporate office and meeting buildings across the street (which probably explains the construction of this new hotel). Staff were friendly and helpful. But one very off-putting "feature" of this hotel is the fact that it has no parking for guests, as most of this brand does. Instead, the hotel has contracted with a parking valet service to manage the parking of guest vehicles (guests are prohibited from parking their own vehicles)... and Marriott has raised the price of every room by $12/night to pay for the hotel's failure to provide parking. This add-on charge was not disclosed during the reservation process, though a follow-up email was dispatched to try to ease the surprise, and a fine-print notice on the hotel's website describes having a "Valet only parking lot." The result for guests is a take-away scent of "eau de rip-off." Hopefully this will be remedied when all the construction is finished.

Under construction and awkward to find in the dark (and tired from driving) this neighborhood seems ‘iffy.’ I found a parking space and (had to) walk around the building to enter for registration. The clerk was alert and adept, he signed me up onto my Bonvoy account and issued me my room. He advised me there is a complimentary ‘breakfast.’ My room. Disgusting ‘artificial car freshener stench.’ I need to sleep. Somewhere. It has to be here tonite. It will not be a good nights sleep and it won’t be restful. This chemical stench is already producing a headache.

Great staff and location. Room was clean and comfortable. This was my first stay at a Springhill and I would definitely return. Was pleasantly surprised as to how well this property is adjacent to many places to eat as well as travel to the airport.

I was charged for this hotel even though I never stayed here, have no record of it in my email nor on my marriott bonvoy app. I disputed the charge on my credit card and they sent me to the hotel. At that point they said I disputed it too late, even though I disputed the charge the second it appeared. I am incredibly unhappy and just got "well, there is nothing we can do". Please beware making a reservation here as it did not show up anywhere for me to cancel. I also stayed on this exact same date at a different marriott in another state, so I obviously was not in two places at once. If I could give 0 stars I would and I NEVER write reviews, much less negative reviews.

This is about the fifth time we’ve been to the Springhill suites at 1500 North Scottsdale Rd. because my daughter is doing her medical residency and she lives in the neighborhood across the street. It is an excellent hotel very very well run. Manuel is a manager, and he is super friendly, very knowledgeable, and an excellent manager. We choose this hotel because it has a very clean, friendly atmosphere from the breakfast area to the bedrooms to the fitness center and pool. The price is very reasonable. We get two queen size beds and we have two adults and one child we come here every month and find the quality and the management excellent each time. This family friendly hotel has been one of the best and hooked us on Springfield Suites. We stay in many hotels across the United States because I am Jeannie Jones selfie girl YouTube a travel, blogger and adventures with Jeannie the travel Genie on YouTube. I love this hotel and honestly honestly think it deserves five stars. If you’re in the Scottsdale area he will find that everything works well including the air conditioners which is a plus when it’s 112° outside the pool area and everything is maintained in an excellent way. be sure to check it out!

Overall this is a very nice place to stay. The suites are large and comfortable. I do have a few question marks that puzzle me. My suite came with a tub shower - not a walk-in shower. That's a bummer. I much prefer the more comfortable walk-in showers. Also, there's no nightstand or charging ports on one side of the bed. Really? I mean everyone likes to charge their phone at night. Seems like a huge oversight. The free breakfast is pretty good, although I would prefer different choices. Also, the kids there have a blast cooking their own waffles, but little kids should not be allowed on the waffle maker. They think it's a toy and fun - I get it - but there are people there that want to eat a waffle when kids are there making waffles just for fun. They didn't even eat the waffle sometimes. Lastly, another note for improvement - there are no EV charging spots at this new hotel. Seems like an oversight not to have at least one EV charging spot for EVs. Parking on pavement is pretty limited at this time too. I'm hoping they improve on some of these, because it seems like a nice place and located in a good spot.
