We spent the last week of Sep at this beautiful resort. The all inclusive resort was amazing. The staff are all so wonderful- from reception to the restaurant to entertainment and most importantly the kids club staff. Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars was the room we got was very noisy. You get all the noise from the furniture moving above and the people walking past. So my tip is to ask for another room if you get room 27 if these 2 things would bother you. Other than that it was amazing! The food was so delicious and plenty options. Thank you for accommodating my kids diet as well when there wasn’t anything for her to eat.

I love the rooms, they are clean and very spacious. The views are amazing. Was not happy with the fact that they do not have a menu just the buffet that is based on themes. This does not cater for everyone as we have different taste buds and also different needs and wants. I for one am not a fan of spicy food, i just love my simple meals. Give me pasta, steak or lamb chops. I am satisfied and another thing is I for one am a binge eater and the buffet does not cater for my needs. This totally put me off and the managers attitude was really horrible.

What an unforgettable stay. We stayed at the Blue Marlin for a week this past month, we were treated with the utmost respect and hospitality. All the staff from the reception to manager were so friendly and went completely out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Amazing restaurant and beautiful bar and lounge area. They made a few beautiful renovations and the beach bar is a must, beautiful view and complete holiday vibes. My daughter made friends and karaoked with the staff, every morning they would bring the baby some scrambled eggs and greated us with a friendly smile. Amazing kids area, swimming pool and slides, bar, and gym. What a wonderful place to be. Would definitely be going back. A must stay if your looking for a stress free proper coastal vacation. Well done @bluemarlinhotel and @dreamholidayandresorts

Blue Marlin has been the perfect destination for my daughter's birthday. Our stay have been fabulous from checking in to checking out. We arrived few minutes before 14h00, was granted check in as the room was ready. Easy check in, along with Blue Marlin's informative pamphlet. Our receptionist Bandile assisted us with showing the room, which was a superior deluxe room - Perfect for a family (My partner, Myself and Our 1 year old daughter). Cleanliness and the interior design... breathtaking. The smart tv, safe, extra blanket, bar fridge, kettle, and huge cupboard to place your clothes. View of the ocean from the Balcony... breathtaking. Room is very spacious for my baby to crawl and play around. Minor setbacks were, I found a pill under a bed, brownish pill, Luckily I found it on time before my daughter saw it. The shower had no shower door, water was spiraling on the floor, had to use towels to dry it up. Luckily we had Ayanda, our lovely housekeeper, to make sure our room stays spotless. Also the pool construction and kiddies area being out of order. Service during Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner was outstanding, travelling with a child can be difficult, but My daughter behaved and felt like she's at home, because of the friendly staff and both Duty Managers. Why would we not comeback?. Blue Marlin, Thank you kindly for making us feel at home. We will definitely come back for the pool

I would not suggest you stay in the penthouse ,nothing works ,the stove does not work ,the water stays warm and does not get hot,the safe does not work and the microwave was entry level for the penthouse.I complained to maintenance they came up but nothing was fixed.Truly did not enjoy my visit this time.

Rooms OK. Service good. Cleanliness good. Food average. Amenities good. Our stay spoilt by noisy guests from conferences. Shouting and talking loudly in the corridors late at night. Noise levels in the dining room very unpleasant. If you want a few days of peace and quiet go somewhere else.

I have been a rare visitor to the KwaZulu Natal South Coast over the years. A prime holiday destination for tourists, the majority of whom are South Africans. My in-laws and their extended family have holidayed here for many years. So, when given the opportunity to visit I jumped at the chance to head to the town of Scottburgh and the Blue Marlin Hotel The province of KwaZulu Natal is associated with a host of words that begin with “B”. The main four being bush, berg, beach & battlefields. But now here in the seaside town of Scottburgh, on the south coast with views of the sand, shoreline and sea it seemed all things “S” were more appropriate. From my vantage point in the hotel’s sub-tropical gardens, I could see swimmers, both in the sea and the saltwater tidal swimming pool on the seafront. There were bodyboarders riding waves in the surf. Having previously being shark caging diving on the south coast I also knew that there were a variety of sharks out there. Scuba diving is a big draw down here to with the world renowned Aliwal Shoal just offshore. Let’s not forget that there are also seasonal whales migrating along the coast between July and November. And my last “S” which I hope to encounter some day is the “greatest shoal on earth.” The sardine run, which peaks on the south coast in the KwaZulu Natal winter months. The Blue Marlin Hotel makes for an ideal holiday destination and base for exploring the many coastal towns that line the beaches here. Plus, all the above-mentioned activities along with so many more from golf to games reserves. You could take a romantic break, a friend’s together getaway or a family holiday spanning the generations. The large hotel grounds and gardens have plenty of green space with well kept lawns, palm trees and a variety of colourful indigenous plants. The grass areas have sun loungers & umbrellas as does the patio areas that surround the hotel swimming pools. For those seeking shade there are also pagodas and awnings to relax under. For the younger family members, away form the pools, there are outdoor and indoor play areas, a giant outdoor chess board, games room and if required a baby-sitting service. As I am a big breakfast fan, hotel days start off in the best fashion with a great buffet selection. There are options, delicacies, here for everyone. Along with the regular juices, fruits and cereals there are so many hot options for a full ‘South African’. If you like your eggs in the morning, with a smile, there are two dedicated manned hot plates offering everything from overflowing omelettes to fried over easy cooked in front of you. I mixed in mutton sausages, cheese grillers and lamb kidneys to kick start my day. Continuing the hospitality theme. Pre evening dinner you can take a drink at the pool side Blu bar or inside at the Ibis bar. We took advantage of both before taking our seats in the busy Lighthouse restaurant. The evening menus so much. I may be labelling myself as a buffet man, but I pa
