We spent 5 nights here in an appartment with the bedroom upstairs (more about stairs later) and a nice little balcony with a great view over Scicli. Staying in this place is a very very special experience. Just stepping out the door of your appartment is sensational. It feels/is just so genuine. Absolutely unique. OK, the stairs: there is quite a few to climb to get to your appartment. You need to know this. Personally I (65) loved it every time. Borgo Hedone has an indoor pool (outdoor pool currently out of operation), which is very nice, and also a great garden with huge palm trees. Our appartment had everything it needed. Alessia was a very caring host. If you have a car, you can always park close, next to San Bartolomeo church. Plenty of bars/restaurants (Baqqalà!) in walking distance and a decent little supermarket as well. Prefer to swim in the sea? Lido Spinasanta is a 20 minutes drive. Nice. Our idea: of course go visit the more famous destinations like Ragusa and Noto, but stay in Scicli. Just right. Just like staying in Borgo Hedone.

We finished our week in Sicily at Borgo Hedone Scicli and this was an excellent stay. We had the junior suite and had a great space with a comfortable bed, a great sitting space outside with a wonderful view and a really good bathroom facility. Before booking, consider the amount of steps you may need to take (Wasnt a problem for us but can see it being for some) Check in, you out greet my tuk tuk to take yourself and the luggage to the hotel. I did however book this stay with the intension of using the outdoor pool which was show on the previous reviews. Not sure if its the time of year, but this was not available. Breakfast was okay, ok spread of continental cheese / meats, croissants, and some hot food including bacon and scrabbled eggs. I would recommend this stay.

Borgo Hedone is a beautiful inn tucked away into the rocky hills of Scicli. We were there as part of a bike tour and the accommodations and service were excellent. Our room was spacious and were lucky to have a walk-out patio which offered stunning views of town and a clothesline to hang wet swimsuits/clothes. Service was good, so were the provided breakfast spread. The best thing about this place is all of the areas to relax/gather. There are two pools - one indoor/one outdoor and lots of seating under palm trees to relax and enjoy a glass of wine and the view! Only thing I would mention as a caution is this is not a very accessible hotel/hotel rooms for folks with limited mobility. There are a lot of uneven, rocky steps to climb to get to the rooms/inn. Once inside our room there were steps up to get in and steps down to the bathroom. Otherwise, it was a great stay!

A very unique and enchanting hotel in the heart of Scicli. We stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite and couldn’t fault it. Highlights: Excellent and friendly staff Clean room Full and varied breakfast Help with luggage Points to note: Be aware that the gym is due a refurbishment next year. So plan only a basic workout. Staff directed to an excellent gym though 7 mins away.

Borgo Hedone is a stunning property in a gorgeous, even underrated, town. We were prepared to love it and had wanted to recommend it. There were many pluses. We stayed four nights in a Superior Suite with a huge and absolutely beautiful terrace with a panoramic view. But there was a lack of generosity and warmth, as well as appropriate oversight. on the part of management that severely let the property down. The floor in our room was filthy on arrival. On mentioning this, we were told dirt must have blown in from the doors, but there was little in the way of apology or assurance this would be corrected. In fact, the floor remained dirty until the next morning’s cleaning. Two small bottles of water were left the first day, none the following days, in spite of drinking water being an amenity offered in the booking materials and indications tap water was not potable. Two packets of Nescafé were likewise left the first night and not replenished, though daily coffee also was promised. The property describes itself as a Luxury Resort. Nescafé hardly qualifies for either descriptor; even worse when it is missing. Eventually, when we asked for it, an espresso machine was brought in. But we were left on our own for espresso pods. What struck us most was the lack of pro-active attention to service. When we asked for things they (mostly) were provided. But having to ask is not pleasant, especially when one is met by a rather brusque assent rather than in a spirit of wishing to please one. Lights were not turned on in public rooms one was occupying, including at breakfast. Breakfast in fact was a somewhat tense affair, with the manager, who doubled as a server of coffee drinks, lurking in the background seeming to be waiting for us to leave rather than coming out to find out if there was anything else we might have wanted. She never balked when asked for something. But one always had to ask. And never was there an indication that our questions or requests were more than tolerated. They were met, but just that. It was a cold manner of service, ungenerous. On the flip side, the man porter/maintenance man who picked us up and brought our luggage in the Ape cart was extremely nice, kind and gave us the sense of our being valued guests. We wish he had been the example to set the rule. This is a gorgeous property that could, with a bit more spirit of service and generosity, truly be a wonderful luxury resort. Now, it feels more like Faulty Towers run out of the Queen Mary.

This was a wonderfully unique place to stay! The main reception area is part of a historic residence, while the rooms are all separate and are situated on a mountainside. There is a wonderful indoor pool area where breakfast is served nearby. We stayed for 5 nights, and enjoyed being able to walk down to nearby restaurants, and there was a market right on the street below us. Staff were very attentive and helpful. There is a bus stop nearby that can take you to the surrounding towns and beaches fairly easily. There is a travel office nearby to purchase bus and train tickets in advance. There is a wonderful oasis that sits high above with an outdoor pool and common indoor area right next to it. It would be perfect for a family gathering or event. Our room had a balcony that overlooked Scicli and was very nice! I highly recommend staying here!

This is an absolutely gorgeous, totally unique property set into the caves above the town in Scicli, comprised of several rooms set up through cobbled paths which would once have been streets. It is immaculate and the rooms - all different and some on several levels - were gorgeous. My favourite thing about this hotel was the different spaces to relax - a roof terace here, a seat on a little outcrop there, a little amphitheatre set into a cave (!) and a beautiful plunge pool with its own bar atop a roof and in secret garden lined with palms. Continental breakfast was charming, inside the breakfast salon and next to the second pool which had jets to swim against - surprisingly relaxing. The staff could not have done more to help, booking taxis, beach clubs and restaurants. Scicli is a wonderful, traditional Sicilian village, well worth a visit - the food is spectacular - and don’t miss the fab little aperol bar under a cave across the road. Five stars from me!

We stayed for three nights and it was a haven in the beautiful town of Scicli. On arrival, we were greeted by our tuk tuk as we’d parked as planned by the church. Nice experience as we were quickly whisked to our room - two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a beautiful balcony that overlooked the town (and on one night we got a takeaway from a nearby restaurant and just ate it there). Room was spacious, full of character and immaculately clean and the breakfasts were lovely - fresh fruit, juice, pastries, meat and cheese. Our three year old daughter Rosie loved these too, while the top pool has one of those memorable vibes that not everywhere has - again with amazing views. To top everything off, the hospitality was amazing and this is exactly the type of place that deserves to do well and was very well priced for the luxury and character you get. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again… and all within easy walk of all the town’s restaurants and attractions. Wonderful stuff!

Very quiet place just few minutes walk from the centre of Scicli. Very kind and helpful staff and absolutely gorgeous apartment Rosa. You can choose from two pools and spend a lovely afternoon in hotel garden. We totally loved it.
