The Cordelia

This is a lovely guest house! The couple who run it are friendly, professional and helpful, and the hotel is comfortable, attractively furnished and spotlessly clean. They offer breakfast, which is pre-ordered and so individually cooked, using top-quality produce, apparently locally sourced wherever possible. There are no other dining room meals, but by request a cold platter can be delivered to your room for a supper at any time in the evening. I ordered a cheese slate which sported five local (and delicious) cheeses served with crusty bread, several different crackers, pickled onions, olives, two different chutneys, walnuts and dried apricots - a real feast. The hotel is situated only a couple of hundred yards from the cliff top in beautiful South Bay. It was a lovely stay and I hope to return.

What a fabulous place to stay, we have been to Scarborough on many occasions over the years but the Cordelia well exceeded our expectations, The food was splendid with quite a variety of breakfast menu all made to order. An additional bonus was being able to order an in room charcuterie for our evening meal, which was fabulous and great value for money. Our hosts, Rebecca and James were so helpful during our stay and definitely a place we will booking the next time we are in Scarborough.

Friendly, welcoming host, Rebecca. Lovely room - quality bedding, furnishings, etc. Beautiful furniture, artwork, throughout the property. Fab Full English breakfast - great local produce. Wifi, tea, coffee and Tunnocks wafers in the room. All the toiletries we needed in bathroom. Quiet location, on street parking and close to sea front. A gem of a place to stay. Another short break for us at The Cordelia. Not worth looking elsewhere as all you need is catered for by Rebecca. Comfortable rooms with lots of attention to detail and spotlessly clean. Fantastic choice of breakfasts and perfectly cooked each morning. Rebecca is kind and chatty and professional. Highly recommend.

I'm a global traveller and can honestly say that this hotel far exceeds all exceptions. I intended to stay 3 days but stayed 2 weeks. The attention to detail is excellent -the rooms have every comfort, decor, wonderful beds, top quality linen and products..... Breakfasts are perfectly cooked. A fantastic choice - all products are of the highest quality, sustainable and locally sourced. Everywhere is immaculate, Rebecca is a true professional, passionate, talented with a beautiful heart. PS: from a marmalade expert - Rebecca's Mother's homemade marmalade is simply the best!

This hotel is the best we have stayed in so far in Scarborough. Rebecca is a perfect hostess and went above and beyond to get us settled. The room was really comfortable with a big bed and feather duvet and pillows. The breakfasts are delicious with good choices. The home made jam was delicious. We will definitely be staying again.

What a delightful boutique B&B! So glad we found this place. Just off the main road, but still so quiet and just a short walk from the sea on the south side of Scarborough. The Cordelia is beautifully furnished with some lovely vintage pieces and we adored the sweeping staircases and pretty guest lounge - a lot of thought has gone into the feel of this hotel. Rebecca knows how to look after her guests and make them feel welcome. Our room, which was the smallest double on offer, was perfect! Cosy, warm, large modern shower room, lots of toiletries provided, plenty of storage for our suitcases, and a well-stocked refreshments tray with lots of choice of teas/coffee (and proper mugs! - thank you, cannot stand the usual tiny cups and saucers most places give you). Bed was super comfy (and I have sciatica so I know!). Breakfast was just the best - absolutely delicious! I had smashed avo on toast with halloumi and poached egg, and also tried the full English which was amazing. You fill in a form the night before so can order as many breakfast items as you would like, for a tailor-made meal. If you are looking for a hotel in Scarborough, I thoroughly recommend this one.

There is a system for pre-booking breakfast that ensures minimum waste and piping hot, individually prepared food, made with high quality ingredients. Only breakfast is provided in the dining room, but the couple offer cheese/meat or combination platters delivered to your room for consumption during the evening. Ideal position near the Italian gardens. On street parking quite busy but a free parking card is given on arrival. We enjoyed our stay and plenty of choices for a lovely breakfast.
