2nd time staying with Sandra and John and wouldn't stay anywhere else. They're not only host but now classed as friends. Comfortable, clean room, lovely breakfast with amazing waiting staff. Relaxed atmosphere, really is a home from home. Great little bar area where you can have a good chat with other guest and Sandra and John. Safe car park, views are a joy to wake up to. See you very soon, already planning the next trip!

Ok hotel definitely would not recommend with children! Had my 3 year old son. Was put on the third floor even though I booked this holiday 3 month in advance! Second morning my child was crying because he was hungry they shrugged us off and said no breakfast till 8.30! We had a 3 hour drive to do home so a had 2 hungry children for over an hour until a could find a service station! Literally could have offered us some Continental anything! Shower didn’t work so couldn’t have a wash for 2 days just trickled water out! Nice people but would never stay again! And defo not worth the money

Spent 4 weeks in total at the hotel throughout this year and do not have a single complaint. John, Sandra and the cleaners are very accommodating. Breakfast was high quality foods and always hot. Rooms very clean and the views of the sea and the castle where nothing short of stunning. Location was perfect for a run, a walk, the outdoor theatre or Scarborough town centre. Absolutely faultless stays every time I have been. Thank you John and Sandra, you are a credit to the hotel.

Dave & Sandra, really welcoming people. Rooms are lovely, tidy and clean. Nice view of the sea from our rooms. Breakfast food quality could be improved and a later check out time would be better, 10 is too early for us. I would recommend it.

The hosts John and Sandra are lovely and welcoming , we stayed in a family room (3) it was beautiful and had separate rooms inside one which we wasn't expecting. The sea views from the rooms was perfect. The breakfast was cooked to perfection, plenty of choice and presented lovely. The staff were all very friendly. We Would definitely stay again

We came to the Catania after being let down elsewhere at the National scooter weekend. Outside is a little disappointing as the end of this row of hotels is awaiting demolition, once inside though you forget about that and its all about the sea view. We were greeted by Sandra and John who run the hotel. They were quick to help us and sat us down so we could arrange our booking. We had a family room for 2 of us. Breakfast you order the night before and it is cooked beautifully with the best produce. Lots of tea and toast prepared by Jo and Joan in the dining room itself. We were sad room leave this hotel and will certainly return. Thankyou Catania and well done

Stayed in August, 2 adults and a 13 year old in the family room. Turned up and is not as pictured here, this picture must be a few years old. The hotel next door is a wasteland and boarded up not pretty. Got there and no-one amswered the door not answered the phone for 40 mins, decided to leave stuff in the car in carpark and go for a walk and come back lqter. There was an older couple waiting with us who did not have this luxury as they came by train and so had tonstay waiting, poor service. When we did return to check in we were greeted by John, who sat us down and went on to explain the 'rules' of the hotel, found this rather patronising and like a school.teacher talking to kids. Bascially it was dont do this and dont do that, a bit rude. Then he informs us that our breakfast would be 8am!! 8am with a 13 year old on holiday! I am sorry but having to wake up at 7.30am to get breky is not what I call a holiday, the details of this hotel say breakfast ks served between 8am -10am yet we were assigned a breakfast time without any say and when we asked to change was told no. The room was very small for us 3, and the bathroom too although this is usually for family rooms in B&Bs. I have to admit the room was very clean even when the curtain fell down from a height, the top of the fallen curtain was dustless. Unfortunately we could not get this back up as the walls were so high (not a complaint just an observation) The tpilet seat could do with a change as this decided to fall off and the shampoo dispenser fell.off the wall in the shower in the middle of the night and scared us half to death. Could not put this back qs did not have the same glue to glue this back to the shower tiles. All in all despite the hotel being clean, it was not for us.

We came here on the 1st with our granddaughter and were over the moon. John and Sandra made us feel really welcome. The views are amazing and the rooms are spotless. The pictures are of the little bedroom and the views from our window of the beach and castle. We stayed in room 5 and it was really roomy. John's breakfasts were faultless and Sandra and her staff kept everything running smoothly 👍🏼 Its 5 mins from the park and the bus which takes you into the marina. I would highly recommend this guest house and I look forward to returning 😊
