I arrived on May 24, just in time to get unpacked and settled before going to dinner. The bed was comfy, and I had no problem using the walk-in shower. The only real problem was the air conditioning, whose cold air caused me to have goosebumps. Only when checking out was I informed that I could have changed to warm air by myself. I also liked using the pool table and the stationary bike, even though the seat was a bit high. I only wish there had been a pool and hot tub. All things considered, it was a perfect retreat for three days and nights.

Breakfast is a typical American motel breakfast with sausages, bacon, yoghurt, juice, and coffee. The room was tidy, there was no microwave in the fridge, two beds, only one stool. There are enough parking spaces. Nearby is the Hannaford supermarket.

After traveling most of the day site seeing my husband daughter and myself were exhausted. It is difficult finding a pet friendly hotel and this was the first one we could find for more than an hours ride. When we asked if they had a room we thought great its 7:30 pm we were all exhausted and we actually have a place to stay with my puppy. When we got over to our room just entering into the hallway to go upstairs there was garbage all over the carpet. Ok so I let that go because its a main entrance so I figured through the day things got dropped or whatever. Go up to our room and open the door the first thing i saw was coffee still sitting in the coffee pot. Yuck 🤮 obviously wasn't cleaned. Hubby and I checked the beds to make sure they didn't have bugs that was fine. Sheets seemed ok. On the corners of the bed was all kinds of crumbs. Obviously no vacuum was used. So my teenage daughter wanted to watch TV and guess what it wasn't working. I called the front desk to let her know after trying everything to fix it. The girl at the desk was very pleasant and I dont blame her at all. She did say she was relatively new and would call her supervisor to find out. Well she called me back to tell me she had a message to her supervisor but no one had responded. Ok so no tv whatever. Later I went to shower and noticed the curtain looked off and the rod was barely hanging on the wall. I get in and showered and noticed the tub didn't drain so I had water to my ankles. So now we are all getting ready to go to bed as its been a long day and the darn beds were like rocks. Hard and very uncomfortable. About 2 hrs later my husband wakes up saying he was hot and he is never hot he rarely uses ac. When i got up the ac unit was blowing hot air. Then I realized it kept shutting off through the night. Well maybe some of my complaints are because I was a housekeeper for 4 years but I dont think that's what it is. When we get ready to check out i voiced my concerns and thoughts that they would do something to make it right but instead I got a story about how they hire a cleaning company to clean. Well I will never stay here again nor reccomend it to anyone.

We stayed at Home2 Suite in PA that was immaculate and amazing. We expected the same standard would be found here. Nope!! We literally walked in and out of here! This one shouldn't even be called a Hilton properly. It's shameful. This hotel property is absolutely disgusting! Forget for a moment you are listening to planes nonstop and that the windows and walls are thin as paper. The icing on the cake is the assortment of broken furniture sitting in the hallway outside of the elevator ....which leads into the hallway (we were on the 3rd floor) which smells like someone used up a case of Febreze rather than actually cleaned anything. Immediately triggered a migraine for me. It was horrible. And how do I know nothing is clean? Because when I walked into our room it was obvious. The shower had mold around the soap dish. Mold. The air conditioning vent rattled SO loudly that it actually took over the sound of the planes taking off. There was no way my family could have stayed in this room and actually slept. When we nicely brought up the extremely loud rattling air conditioner (didn't even mention the mold or smell in the hallway) to the front desk asking if someone could please fix it, the person at the front desk laughed at my husband. Literally laughed at him. Horrible customer service. We refused to stay here, and the found another (very clean and quiet, I may add!) hotel to stay at. This place is a total dump. Besides the large size of the room, there is nothing else the place has going for them. Check out Homewood Suites by Hilton in Scarborough instead.

We made a last minute decision to take a trip from the NYC area up to Portland to attend an event, and with Labor Day weekend traffic, we did not arrive until about 11:30PM at night with 3 exhausted kids. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel -- the kids slept in the bedroom and my husband and I slept on the pull-out couch in the living room area of the suite. I was anticipating noise because of the proximity to the airport, but we never heard a single plane! When we requested extra towels, pillows, blankets, etc they were brought up in a timely fashion by a friendly and helpful staff member. The included breakfast was a really nice perk -- everyone had plenty of options (one of our travel companions is vegan and had options). My husband in particular enjoyed the freshly made omlets.

We enjoyed our stay here a lot!! Very cute and well equipped rooms but they are on the smaller side. Very glad we were given 1st floor rooms as there are no elevators here. Breakfast, coffee, cookies, were very nice too. The bed was too hard though and the area isn’t close to the main area of Portland.

4.5 stars We stayed one night while passing through Portland on the way home. Check-in was quick and friendly. The lobby is nice. Room was clean, spacious, and updated. Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful. Location is great! We had a couple of great walks to dinner or to get coffee. The Old Port neighborhood was cute! We ordered room service for breakfast. Service was slower than expected due to staffing issues, but we both enjoyed our meals. We didn’t get to take advantage of the spa or restaurant, but if we find ourselves in Portland again, we definitely will. We always have nice experiences at Westins, and this stay was no different.

Excellent
We stayed at the Homewood Suites (Scarborough) as part of a sports group. I checked in online the day before and my room was ready by midday. When I arrived I was given keys to the room and made my way to the room. Most of the hotel staff went above and beyond for our group. We had an early morning game and the breakfast staff came in an hour early to have breakfast prepared for us. Amazing! The rooms were clean and had all of the amentines needed to cook meals if we needed to. Having a full size referigerator is great. Beds were comfortable. And for all of those who need a fan at night, there is a ceiling fan. I was so excited! Like I mentioned, breakfast staff was wonderful. They offered eggs, bacon as well as bagels, yogurts and more. Sue at the front desk really made the group feel welcomed. And would do anything she could for us. Thanks for making our stay great!
GGuest UserI chose this place as a less expensive alternative to hotels in Portland. Also because motels are safer during COVID than hotels (more ventilation because the room opens to the outdoors). First, I want to say my room was clean and comfortable. It's nothing fancy, but you get what you pay for. Also, I had a last-minute change to my reservation and the manager was very accommodating. So, thank you for that. My one non-COVID sort-of complaint is that, while you get a fridge and microwave (nice features), there's no coffee maker in the room. Would be nice to have that instead of the microwave, maybe. My biggest issue is that there were no COVID protocols in place. I went into the office to check in and the office was SEALED. I mean no windows open, door shut. The manager who checked me in was not wearing a mask. Two other guests were in there. I was the only one wearing a mask. And check in still involves filling out a card, even if you book on Booking.com, so it takes several minutes. I was quite eager to get out of there. When I got to my room, I realized he had given me a queen room rather than the king I booked, but I didn't want to go back into the office to request a room change. Then it occurred to me that if the manager wasn't wearing a mask, housekeeping probably didn't either. I kept the door open and opened the windows to air out my room before removing my mask, following what the experts say. Please open your office windows. It was 72 degrees and gorgeous outside. No reason to have everything sealed up.
I have visited this hotel in the past and had an exceptional experience. The staff at this hotel is great. They are friendly, professional and helpful. My number one reason for retuning to this hotel is the barista that greets guests at the hotel in the morning. HIs name is Patrick. He is friendly and professional. He takes time to offer great place to visit in the area. My sister (from Las Vegas) and I stayed at this hotel back in 2021. My sister was so impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of this gentleman she said it made her whole trip. Whenever she recalls her trip to Maine Patrick's name comes up. This year when my husband and I planned to visited Maine I was sure to book our room at this hotel just because of the excellent service Patrick provided my sister and I a few years ago. Again, during our stay my husband and I were treated exceptionally well by Patrick. Patick's great service is contagious, and his acts of hospitality encourages younger less experienced employees to follow his lead. I will encourage friends and family that are going to be visiting Maine to stay at this hotel. Friendly staff, reasonable rates and clean rooms will keep us coming back. The housekeeping staff are exceptional as well.
MmkbnjStayed three nights, in two different rooms (checked out and checked back in days later). First room had many issues, from shower safety bar pulling out of the wall, to extremely noisy a/c needing motor bearings, to some mold in shower area, and while room was recently repainted there were dozens of paint spots on the carpet. The bathroom is tiny, need to move your legs to close the door while on the toilet. And there is almost no counter space in the bathroom. The breakfast was ok, only one fresh fruit in addition to packaged fruit cups, it does have hot eggs or hot egg sandwiches and ham/bacon. Overall this was an average experience, I expect more from Marriott properties, who have chosen to charge extra for the name.
CCindy BSadly, there were far more negatives than positives. We stayed here because the price was less outrageous than in Portland proper. Positive first: staff was delightful. The beds were comfortable. The suite was nearly immaculate, other than mildew I noted when getting into the shower. To be fair, it’s not something that would be noticed without getting into the stall. The kitchen amenities and those that were available to borrow were impressive. However, the entire place could use a revamp. Things were worn looking in the room and hallway. We stayed two nights and our room was not serviced in between, though we did not put out the little sign saying not to and were gone all day. The furnishings in the room were oddly arranged with poor lighting by the dining table (which had only one chair) and the recliner (which didn’t fit nicely in the space). A cupboard door was missing in the kitchen. The noise from the fridge, I-95, the AC, and the room upstairs were all troublesome for someone who sleeps lightly (me). There was no indication that there was an environmental awareness-no recycling, no “leave the towels on the racks..”. We would never stay here again.
GGuest UserWe chose this hotel because we were traveling with our small dog. We called the hotel directly to book our reservation 4 weeks before our arrival and booked a king sized bed. We arrived at the hotel and were given a double sized bed. When we walked into the room, it was disgustingly dirty and it smelled like someone was cooking a goat. 1st red flag. My husband went back to the front desk and he was told the hotel does not have king sized beds. My husband then showed him our reservation he had printed out showing the king sized bed reservation. The so called manager said that we must’ve made our reservation through a 3rd party booking company. My husband told them that he had spoke directly to this hotel 4 weeks prior confirming this. She then said a room just opened up with a king sized bed. What? 2nd red flag. We went up to our room, saw it had a queen sized bed, apparently the girl doesn’t know the difference. We decided to make the best of it and went to our car to retrieve our luggage. I fell on the sidewalk because it was extremely icy from the last storm they had and no one at the hotel shoveled or paved the parking lot. 3rd red flag. We were told by another worker that they keep sand buckets by the doors inside to do it ourselves. By this time we were exhausted from traveling all day to get here so we unpacked. We went to sleep by 9 pm and were woken up at 10 by about 8 little kids running down the hall knocking on everyone’s door as they passed. I opened the door to see why this was happening and saw that the last 6 rooms on our floor all had their doors open and all the parents of these kids were mingling in the hallway. My husband went back down to the lobby to complain and was told by another guest that this hotel was considered a “ shelter hotel”. It housed a lot of Somali immigrants. We decided at that point that we were leaving the next morning. The noise lasted until 3:30 am until the police came and arrested a man for beating his wife. The next morning we went to check out and were asked by the same manager why we wanted to leave when we booked 4 nights and we told them that the last straw was when the police showed up. The manager said that it was because of a barking dog. Another lie. We physically saw the police take the man out in handcuffs and was told by the guests in the room next to him that he complained to the hotel and they did nothing so he called the police himself. We booked our remaining nights at the comfort inn and it was like night and day. The comfort inn was amazing. We got a 2 room suite that was lean, fresh smelling and the staff was awesome after we told them of our experience at the other hotel. By the way we paid less at the comfort inn then we did at the other hotel. I don’t recommend the extended stay hotel to anyone unless your a Somali immigrant.
