Hotel Splendid

Fabulous!!! Great hotel but the the staff really made it. Big shout out to the maid service, my room was spotless every evening. Location great for skiing but a 'killer hill' after apres. Lovely hotel brilliant staff, thank you for a memorable precious week

This is our second stay at hotel splendid and it did not disappoint. As last year hotel is spotlessly clean and staff are so lovely. Food was good last year but fantastic this year! Our daughter loves the pool and the ski bus stopping outside the door is a big bonus. We would highly recommend.

Brilliant family run hotel. Fabianna couldn’t do enough for us. My skis were taken by someone else up in the mountains and she made every effort to contact and ensure that they were found (which they were!). Food is lovely, the pool is a bonus and the bar area was great for a pre or post dinner drink. Yes the hill is steep, and it does take it out of you but just have a couple of stops en route like I did (and I’m not the fittest of athletes!). All round brilliant trip, and would 100% recommend Splendid to anyone staying in Sauze.

Lovely hotel - great staff. Rooms and corridors look a little basic but once you've settled in - rooms very cozy. They are aimed at Brits so have kettles and UK plug sockets, need to bring your own tea bags, instant coffee, hot chocolate. Bar/lounge is great - really lovely to relax in and loads for kids, older kids to do. Pool and Sauna are both fab and feel luxurious - the changing and showers don't so do both in your room. Food is good and plentiful, loads of choice but its staff who make it such a great experience. The hill is definitely a thing! It's steep - and tough to do at altitude, but not that long - just push through it. Wouldn't do it in ski boots - we used the cut through to Clotes run which is flat and ski bus to Sportinia when Clotes queue long (it has webcam).

Our family spent a great week at this lovely, family run hotel in January. All the staff were fantastic, very attentive and made us feel very welcome. It was my sons birthday the day we arrived and we requested a cake. The hotel owner arranged and everyone sang happy birthday - was a lovely moment. The hotel is up the hill, short walk from the village. Steep hill with kit on but not bad at all. Great shuttle bus service. The rooms were a great size and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner was lovely, great variety and plenty of it. My son and husband used the sauna and swimming pool often which was a great bonus at end of ski day. They also enjoyed nightly pool competitions at pool table in bar. A lovely wee terrace outside the bar to sit and soak up the sun down the mountain. Great skiing up the mountain with fantastic runs and bars. The crystal ski rep was at the hotel daily which was great for any queries and booking extras. The village was lovely with a range of restaurants, bars, shops and takeaways. We had a great holiday and made memories of a lifetime. Hotel splendid and Sauze d’Oulx we would be back in a heartbeat!!

This is a family run hotel at its best. Great friendly staff that will help with any problems. Fantastic evening meals & breakfast. Great facilities and right next to the slopes. Fabiana and her whole team were wonderful throughout our stay. Jonathan C

We chose the Hotel Splendid through our Crystal Ski package and were not disappointed! We were a large party of 23 and the hotel did everything they could to accomodate us. We were expecting a 15 minute walk up the hill to the hotel (as advertised) but the hotel owner met us at the bus stop and shuttled us up the hill. There is a tourist tax to pay on arrival (E10.50 per person) which is cash only but as we hadn't brought cash they were happy for us to pay later in the week when we'd found an ATM. Everything else in the hotel could be paid for by card or using a tab against the room. My husband and I were travelling with our 5 month old daughter and the hotel had provided a cot and a change mat in our room which was very helpful. Food everyday was ample, with a pre-meal buffet follow by a huge 3-course meal, and the staff were very relaxed about us moving seats each day (even though it made their job more difficult). The hotel has a lovely pool which is open from 4pm each day and which our daughter loved, you just need to bring a swim cap (which can also be bought at reception). Although the hotel is up a steep hill from the nearest ski lift, there was a cut across to the slope which saved us a trek everyday. The biggest hightlight of the hotel for us were the staff. They couldn't do enough for us and there was always people on hand to help (even at nearly midnight when we wanted a cardboard box for a party game!). It was very telling that when the staff finished their shifts they would stay in the bar, relaxing with their colleagues. I cannot recommend Hotel Splendid highly enough!

Stayed in the Hotel Splendid 7th -14th January 2024. Nice rooms, excellent food. Left a bank card in the room by mistake, emailed the hotel from Turin airport, had a response that day assuring me that it had been found and destroyed at my request with a pic to prove it !! Easy ski to the Clotes lift through the gate at the end of the lane across the road. A very enjoyable stay, will be back !

We stayed at the Hotel Spendid over Chritmas 2023 and it was excellent! The Splendid is a typical & very cosy Alpine hotel in a beautiful town. From the minute we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the proprietors and this set the tone for the rest of the week. The hotel was beautifully and tastefully decorated for Christmas. Communal areas and bedrooms were spotless on arrival and beautifully serviced throughout the week. The spa and pool were complemented with mood lighting, plenty of seats/loungers and an actual bar! The bar area was roomy and arranged in such a way that groups could be together yet not crowding others, and it was perfectly pitched between chilled out daytimes and social evenings. The terrace was a gorgeous sunny spot with blankets thoughtfully provided for when the sun dipped behind the mountain. The restaurant was light and airy and managed efficiently. There was a great choice of meal options, plentiful portions and both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. The ski locker was easy to access and had plenty of room for both equipment and guests. It was our first Christmas Day abroad and the staff made it so very special. From heartfelt "Bonne Natales" to discretely clearing away wrapping paper at breakfast to the sumptuous gala dinner it was a magical day. We were so impressed by the attention and attitude of every single member of staff. Without exception they were engaging, happy, fastidious, eager to serve and made us feel very special. Nothing was too much trouble. They were always jolly, always smiling (even when we forgot what we ordered for supper every single night!), always made time to chat and did everything they could to make our holiday happy. It was obvious that they genuinely enjoyed hosting and that they wanted guests to relax and enjoy themselves and the company of those they were with. There were countless "above and beyond" moments. For instance, we were allocated the room adjacent to our children's, we were seated with others in our group for meals, they drove my elderly father to and from the coach to save his legs, they were happy to offer the little ones other meal options, they sourced coffees and snacks even when the bar was shut, we had welcome chocolates on our pillows. We had some injuries in our group and they helped us enormously with practical support such as transportation from the medical centre, medical translations, carrying things, moving furniture to accommodate injuries, offering us alternative things to do when not fit to ski and generally just seeing to our needs. They were wonderful at checking in with us & making sure we were ok, offering kindness and care when things felt really difficult. This is a hotel where every single member of staff welcomes and embraces, serves and cares. You are made to feel like one of the family and the hotel feels like a home from home. We loved it!
