First time in Saumur and chose here after considering all the other hotels across the river and very glad we did. There are 10 parking spaces and it’s advisable to book as we didn’t but we’re lucky there was one left when we checked on. The hotel has been beautifully restored and all the rooms are individual. We had room 1 which has a private balcony and a massive bathroom suitable for disabled persons in a wheelchair. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection to choose from. There is a restaurant offering of pre made bowls but we ate out elsewhere. There is an external courtyard that leads onto the car parking but as it was September and a bit chilly we didn’t have 5he chance to enjoy it. Staff were very welcoming and helpful with a map and directions. Would definitely stay again.

Beside a small miscommunication on the parking reservation, finally better for us costwise, we enjoyed a lot our stay in this hotel. Located right in the center of the most interesting part of Saumur town, the interior decoration of the hotel is a pleasure for the eyes. Our room was big (Superior XL), well insulated, and comfortable to our liking (big bed with a good compromise between firmness and support).

Le Londres is a visually beautiful and comfortable hotel with very attentive staff. It is extremely centrally situated with private (and gated) off road parking behind. A curving, marble staircase takes you up to the first floor reception, where, whenever we were arriving or leaving, we always received the friendliest of greetings, often from one of the owners, who have clearly taken great trouble to make their personal marks on their establishment. All the rooms have highly individual themes and decoration (we peeped in others along the corridor after the occupants had left) which are extremely pleasing to the eye. The bed was comfortable and there was a good shower as well as lots of nice little touches in a room which made the most of every inch of its small size. Breakfast was excellent quality and plenty of it, though we felt there could have been more choice, especially in the fruit department. But that's being picky as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and greatly appreciated the extra yard (or should that be metre) everyone went to make you feel welcome and to offer help with tips for touring the town and area. The only downside, and one they can't do much about, was that we had a couple of unwanted early hours disturbancies - one from an extremely noisy street cleaning machine, the other from the bin men!

There were a few small things that stopped me from giving this an excellent score. Toilet handle broke so we couldn’t get in to it at 1am and hot breakfast wasn’t hot sadly but we will stay here again

We booked the apartment because the standard rooms were all booked for our dates. The staff had good English, always a plus for us, and the host was very friendly and informative. This has been a hotel since 1837. All of the room hall way entry doors display a room number and the name of some historic landmark. We had booked secure, hotel parking in advance but there was some construction issue so we had to park on the street the first night. Hotel parking is secure. There are 4 steps up to the lobby/lift. The apartment is on the upper floor so the elevator only goes part way, then an additional 22 steps up to the apartment. Even if you don't rent the apartment, go all the way up to see the historic well worn steps and the square nails holding them in place. The apartment was large and well appointed, everything nice, clean and tidy. The bathroom was huge and everything worked as it should. There was no curtain for the bathroom window but you are up high and the neighboring buildings are all far away. There were no wash cloths. We have been to Samur several times and although this was our first time at this hotel we look forward to staying here again. Breakfast was E13.00 each and the usual assortment typical in France. Breakfast room is lovely.

Great location for all local attractions. Great breakfast . Make sure yiu book a car park, if not there is a good cheap secure car park close bye

What a beautiful hotel we had no idea what to expect never having stayed here before but it was beyond our expectations. Everything about it was 1st class I would have no hesitation in recommending it
