I don’t normally write reviews, but this hotel needs some major improvements. I was there for a one night stay because I was attending a wedding nearby, and for the price, I immediately regretted it. We booked the room, to have a place to sleep at the end of the night, but after seeing a bug that resembled a bed bug crawling on my pillow, I did not get any sleep. I stayed up all night itching and feeling like I had bugs crawling on me. I thought it was paranoia. But, upon returning home, I had bites that started to itch and swell up on my forehead, legs and back. The room was not clean, and could use updating. There were obvious signs of mildew and water damage in the bathroom, stains on the walls, sheets and decorative bedding. If you appreciate a clean space, this is not it. Check-in and check- out was easy, and the staff was friendly enough for the limited interactions we had, but I would not consider staying at a Howard Johnson again.

Pillows were of terrible quality, WiFi was worthless. The lady at the front desk when we checked in didn’t recognize my status with Wyndham. When I asked if I could switch to a two double bed room she wanted to charge additional money, even though it was late and there were plenty of rooms. Oh well, never again.

Bathrooms need updates- ceiling tiles water stained - get rid of the tubs and install walk-in showers- shower curtains are nasty

The hardest mattress I’ve ever slept on and not in a good way. First room they gave me the sheets were dirty so I moved rooms. It’s as basic as you can get. Came to the area for HITS down the street which is very convenient and that’s a huge plus. It was clean enough to sleep in, but if I had a choice I’d go elsewhere.

Sure it's dated, but it's basically clean and it's cozy. The staff were very friendly! We had breakfast at the attached restaurant, and it was good greasy diner food, exactly what we were looking for... the staff there were great too! The pool is awesome, clean and inviting.

Not worth the money
Room smelled moldy and obvious water damage on ceiling. Leaky tub faucet too. Furniture in horrible shape…. Many pieces broken and damaged. Sooooo dated. Needs new everything, from paint to curtains to carpet. The beds were comfortable but someone who checked in shortly before us had to come back because linens were dirty while we were checking in. We checked ours before settling in, but they were ok.

This was an okay hotel for a one night stay when there are very limited options of places to choose from. I will say, I was pleasantly surprised with the room itself. The outside of the facility and the hallways don't give it the best feel, but the room was clean and okay. I did think it was ridiculously overpriced for what the hotel is, even on a Saturday night.

I was honestly shocked at the state of the room. I really don’t consider myself a picky person… but this room shocked me. Everything smelled damp and mildewy, there were mold/mildew stains in the bathroom, the grout and there was visible dirt on the walls, door, light switches, etc. The artwork was broken and half hanging off of the bracket. The refrigerator was both leaking and froze everything, ruining all of the food in there. Every surface was sticky and gross feeling. I would never recommend anyone to stay here and I’ll never be staying again. After horse showing in 95 degree weather all day, this was NOT a relaxing spot to return to. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra money and stay somewhere else, or in one of the neighboring towns.
