The Originals City Hôtel Albizia Sarlat-la-Canéda

Friendly and welcoming staff, decent room but unfortunately too damp and poorly cleaned. At first, we were pleasantly surprised given the comments and reviews found online (clean floors and surfaces), but we quickly realized that once the "clean" smell dissipated after preparing the room, the humidity took over again. After a few hours, a very strong damp smell began to bother us, despite our attempts to ventilate by opening the windows, and a "heavy" atmosphere was difficult to breathe for me, who is asthmatic. There was also a large amount of mold on the headboard, which greatly affected our comfort. There were also mold stains on the sheets. The VMC was clearly not working, which is probably the cause of this humidity problem. We were further disturbed in the morning by the housekeeping staff, who, while very friendly, didn't seem concerned about the presence of people who might still be asleep (I'm not just talking about rudeness or normal conversations, but rather shouting and yelling). This is the first time in my life I've written such a review about a hotel, and we won't be returning. The price was certainly unbeatable for the area, but frankly, for a few dozen euros more, go elsewhere...
