It is said that the best hotel in the Saran area. The room is big enough, but the air conditioner is not working well. The breakfast is not self-service, which is a bit small. I saw that other room types are a bit small when passing by. It is recommended to choose this room type directly. It is not bad for the money for a visit

I went with my family to have something to drink, a girl waits for us at the door and says that children are not allowed in this order as we had seen and we ask her if it is not allowed, we will leave, she says you can stay then. Since we have worked with tourism and know it quite well, the staff should be more selected. The girl at the door who I really wanted to ask for her name, but I didn't get the chance, was one of the worst services I've had, she behaved quite rudely with the customer and a voice not suitable for her position. Anyway, we sat down and the girl in question immediately comes to order, but she didn't bring us a menu after we decide on the order and we give it to her for every drink that we told her, she replied that we don't have it! The question arises, why did you leave a product on the menu when you do not serve it? Too strange not to have an Aperol, but unfortunately the counter was behind us and we saw that you had an Aperol! The place is very beautiful but very low with the employed waitresses. The first place to receive such poor quality service from a female. All my comment is based only on the waitress girl who left a lot to be desired :(

Save your money and book elsewhere. The whole place is dirty, and dated. in the UK this would probably struggle to get a 2 star rating. Staff are rude and unhelpful. Pool area is again very dirty, messy and tired, tiles missing on the pool walls etc etc, and was very expensive compared to other hotels we stayed in on our trip. I think the most useful review i can give you is by answering the question if I would I stay again here? , and the honest answer is, if it was free......... I still wouldn't go back!!

We stayed in an apartment. The apartment itself was absolutely fine. Bed comfy Great air con Big and spacious Pool area is too Cramped and music very loud. Beach area has plenty of beds Staff are rude. Seem to only want to look after their own. We paid €25 to use the infinity pool. It clearly states no children however they let an Albanias families children in but told all other Nationalities no children were allowed. We also got asked to move sun beds as 2 Albanian men wanted our beds (even though there were others) we said no and stayed where we are. Overall the apartments are great, great location, music too loud and only really plays Albanian music and the majority of the staff are rude unless your Albanian.

We stayed at one of the apartments on the complex - not in the hotel itself so we can’t comment on the rooms. However, we were able to use the pool (700lek per adult) and beach (500lek per adult) as were classed as resident on the complex. We only used the main pool as rooftop doesn’t allow children. The main pool is good in that it has lots of space and a nice view (agree with another reviewer - a bin is placed in the worst place with this view!!). However I would say the main pool could do with better cleaning. This was the biggest downfall. This was really apparent when someone near us cut their hand on one of the beds - the solution to clean this was water splashed and then it was left the whole afternoon/evening. This was unacceptable especially when staff were just sitting around, and we did hear another family complain about this as it was right near where the kids smaller pool was too. Gross! The beach was really clean, and the lifeguard there was really great in terms of keeping everyone safe as waves got big. It is a pebble beach and only a small area can you walk into the sea. The music is an odd one there - one day they played the same 4 songs all day.. and it wasn’t suitable for little ears in the slightest. Other days it would be a real mix. We didn’t mind the volume but I can see how others may find it too loud. Drinks are more expensive than others bars etc we had been in in Saranda/Albania - as was the food. We didn’t eat here in the end so can’t comment on the food taste though. Staff at the bar were lovely with our children, and served our drinks quickly each time. There is a supermarket right outside - small but has essentials. Quite expensive we found though compared to other supermarkets we went in. 15 min walk to the main boardwalk, but loads of restaurants around to try, which were great and had the most stunning sunset views (especially if you go right out of the complex)

Overpriced and the staff was rude. I paid to have a nice time in the rooftop area, but omg the albanian music was played so loud that I couldnt even speak with my friend that was next to me. We asked the staff over and over again to lower the music but no. Some people left the area because of this and some guest started to argue with the staff, after around 3 hours they finally lowered the music. Then we ordered sushi up there and waited 2 hours for the food. There was maybe 10 guest on the rooftop. And last but not least they do not sell wines on the rooftop, only beer and coktails. They have a private beach but you have to pay to go to the beach, even if we had the villas and they said it was free, but no.

This hotel was an absolute disappointment, to the extent that we checked out 3 days early. The management's approach and level of service were far from 5 stars. It started upon our arrival when they accommodated us in an apartment with one double bed and 2 bunk beds for 2 families. I didn't know how my husband, child, and I were supposed to sleep on bunk beds. Mistakes can happen, but the solution didn't come for another 2 days. The management completely lacked customer-oriented approach. Another issue was when they lost our car keys or gave us keys to other cars to move them. Why couldn't guests be bellboys, smoking at the hotel entrance? There were problems with towels, parking, basically everything. The compensation offered by management was access to the rooftop terrace meant only for adults, which is great if you're there as two families with children - I don't understand. Simply put, it was a disaster, and we left 3 days early. Saranda was great. I would never recommend this hotel if you don't want to ruin your vacation.

This hotel has very beautiful facilities. We had a breathtaking view from our room over the sea, the mountains and the Mandarina pool. We couldn’t get enough of it. The pool area is beautifully lit at night. The whole complex which consists of the hotel section and apartments is very beautiful and adorned with bougainville flowers. The room was nicely decorated, modern and quite spacious. The whole hotel has an interesting design and artistic theme to it. It is like living inside an art gallery. The level of cleaning was very good and efficient. They cleaned everything during our brief 60 min visit to the pool. We had a very relaxing time by the pool here, which was cleaned every morning and kept clean. The breakfast was served at the beautiful beach restaurant. It was good, not quite as varied as there usually is at 5 stars, but good 4-star level. There is also a fabulous rooftop restaurant on the 7th floor, which in open during high season July- August. The spa and hammam was a very beautiful, large complex, which cost 10 euros per person for two hours. Too bad that the hammam and the steam room were cold. Steam room was also not working well, as it produced no steam. Without these little things, the hammam experience would have been very nice as all the other saunas were good. They have great facilities, if they just kept them warm. In May, there wasn’t any noise coming from the pool, but we were able to relax in our room any time of the day and had a perfectly good sleep quality here. We were also drinking our own water all the time and the staff never tried to charge us to buy their water. The rooftop infinity pool is 30€ per day and parking is 10€ per day. This is all informed on their website in the booking section “package details: best available rates: ...more...”. But the information is quite difficult to find and if you book via other websites, it isn’t mentioned anywhere at all. There was no personalised welcome gift on arrival at the room nor coffee and coffeemaker in the room, as there should be at 5 stars. To our disappointment only the Mandarina pool and the inside pool were open in May, the Butterfly pool and rooftop pool were not, even though the weather was a pleasant 22-28C during our stay. This is because they only open the rooftop pool and restaurant in May 20th and keep all of the pools open during high season starting from June 10th as there just aren’t enough tourists during April-May. Of course it is understandable, but this isn’t mentioned anywhere on their website or other platforms. Maybe they would have more tourists during spring if they kept all their facilities open. We would have adored this place, if all the pools and restaurants had been open. The reception lobby was closed, sealed off and moved elsewhere, unannounced due to paint work one day. We wish this had been communicated in advance and with better signage to the new reception. They also began doing a lot of other maintenance, reconstruction

I had a great stay at Bougainville, the staff were lovely and welcoming and the room was perfectly nice and clean. We stayed in one of the apartments which received house keeping everyday which was a nice change to an Airbnb. The pool was nice and not too busy and appreciated the private beach access. Plenty of sun loungers available at any time of the day. Only reservations were that the hotel food and drinks were very expensive, however, there is a lovely bakery opposite that we went to for breakfast most days. Also the apartment could’ve done with having more equipment, there was only 3 knives and 3 glasses for four people but we made do.

As a regular customer of the Spa (10+visits) I am sort to report that the facility has deteriorated over the years to the point that now all that can be offered that worked properly without complaint and call for maintenance was the Sauna room for ladies. All other facilities showers, jacuzzi, Haman, steam room, cold room, were either not working at all or not working properly, and cold (possibly a good carbon footprint!)

We were significantly overcharged by this place and are now being ignored by them. We owed €200 upon check-in. They ran my card for it and I didn’t notice until getting home they charged me €289. They have not responded to my four emails attempting to get clarification/a refund. Everything was closed when we went. Maybe our fault for going during the off season but nothing on their website mentions they shut down every bar and restaurant. Only one restaurant was open (no bars were) and the restaurant said they were not able to make cocktails - only wine or beer. They also couldn’t make pizzas which was about half their menu. However the staff (and food!) at the restaurant was great. The restaurant staff and the lifeguards were the only saving graces of the trip. Super friendly and kind. The front desk people, on the other hand, were incredible rude and unhelpful. We were only given one key for two people. When we forgot it in our room one day and they told us in order to get back in we’d have to pay €16 for a new key. This was after waiting 20 minutes for someone to actually show up at the desk. No idea why it was unstaffed so long but we had no way to contact anyone and no way to get in our room. There were multiple times when we went to the front desk for assistance, they looked at us, and turned away and continued their conversations with other staff people. Finally, the place was just dirty. It felt super cold and grimy. Nothing like their photos online. I will say the view was absolutely phenomenal though. Regardless I would absolutely not recommend this place. I find it really sketchy that they overcharged us and, when confronted with a copy of our invoice and a question as to why the charge on my card is so much more, will not respond. There are tons of other hotels and resorts nearby, you’d be better off choosing one of those.

We found this resort to be average, despite its billing as a "5 star" resort. Even compared to other resorts in Sarande and Albania that we stayed at. Some challenges - appears dated, and unclean in areas (common walkways with carpet are stained) and corners and baseboards show visible dirt), internet is awful with intermittent access, availability and 2G service. We also had no hot or warm water in the afternoon when we went to take a shower after spending the morning outside. Our friends had a room that was extremely noisy into the evening, although that ended at midnight. The location was good, and staff were friendly. The included breakfast was very good. However, we had high expectations given its own touting, and was disappointed by basic shortcomings they need to fix.
