Musty smell throughout the hotel. Couldn't even go in pool area as it smelled so bad. Rooms okay but bathroom shower vinyl was cracked. No bathroom fan so stayed very moist. Biggest issue is that I also got some bites while I was there that my doctor said were likely bedbug bites. See pictures of bites. Management failed to answer any of my emails about the bites. It's a lot cheaper than other places in Saranac Lake but I'd not recommend this place to anyone. To leave one positive statement, the front desk staff and housekeeping staff were all very nice

The room itself was average. It was a little outdated and musty and full of flies. Breakfast was okay for a free breakfast. I've had better. We were most frustrated by the lack of housekeeping. Over a 4 night stay, we had our towels changed 3 times after requesting attention upon our return to the room each evening. The beds were never made. I was told that there was no housekeeping available when I asked to have the room cleaned on our 4th night and the person at that front desk was unapologetic.

Hotel was dirty. Carpets TOO filthy to walk barefoot. Needs alot of upgrades, especially for the cost per night. Breakfast choices were very poor. Friday morning hot item Breakfast was scrambled eggs and bacon. Saturday morning hot item was biscuits with gravy. No eggs, no potatoes, no bacon or other meats. There was a pancake and waffle maker. You could make your own if you chose that for Breakfast. Saturday Breakfast was very pathetic, to say the least.

The pillows and beds are very comfortable. Clean rooms. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Great staff. Breakfast was tasty as well as having many choices. Bonus is the windows actually open to allow the fresh Mountain air in. Location is ideal as you are able to walk to multiple restaurants. Beautiful relaxing area. Just eight miles or so from Lake Placid. Perfect roads for motorcycling. Note: there is no elevator.

Very shabby decor and odd odors prevailed the room. Our stay was a short two day visit and was disappointed in the facility. Not sure if a change in management was the reason but in a previous stay it was very nice. Parking lot had some serious holes that could have caused vehicle damage.

best hotel stay i stayed at, first anniversary getaway in 25 yrs. went to Whiteface Mtn, Lake Placid for the weekend of our anniversary. Had a blast. the only thing that i can say that i was not used to is that all the stores in the surrounding area closed latest was 9pm

We were charged for two nights even t hough we were using rewards points. We reserved through the Best Western headquarters. We were told at check out that later in the day we would receive a call from the manager but that did not happen. Almost two weeks later, still no word from Best Western.

There were many choices available for overnight stays in Saranac Lake around the same price point. We selected Best Western because it had breakfast included and was close to town. Good choice! The breakfast was a full breakfast, not just coffee and a carb.

We brought the regional science fair to Paul Smith's College and needed a place where families and school groups could stay the night before. Not only did the Best Western Saranac Lake welcome our block of middle and high school kids, but they managed to handle it when a late snowstorm cancelled us! Two weeks later, they squeezed us in without blinking an eyelash and presto - we could have our fair. The Best Western Saranac Lake staff people were gracious to everyone, fed our bottomless teens with ample choices, welcomed their questions, cheered their fair efforts, and obviously enjoyed these great kids. We are grateful for their kindnesses, their encouragement, and how they made the students' adventure at the Terra Northeast Regional STEM Fair even better!
