Chateraise Gateaux Kingdom Sapporo Hotel & Spa Resort Reviews

This was probably the anti- climax of our trip. Having been to Sapporo and Hakodate, I thought that a relaxing vacation at a hotel/Spa would be a good retreat before coming back home. Instead this place was a total letdown. 1). The place is dirty...It looked like it has been bought over with no renovation done. The carpets are smelly and moldly. The furniture looks dated. The bed has an awful ordour. 2). The facilities...They gym equipment is so old that it looked like it was there since the 70s. And the have the audacity to charge you for usage of the gym. 3). Half the facilities are closed...When we got there hoping to play with the slides and soak in some sun, the adult pool was closed and so were the tube slides. 4). The staff...They cannot speak English and there was a female staff at the Spa counter who ignored answering and just looked blindly through you. At least Trip.com or the hotel should inform the consumer that the main facilities are closed. Nobody informed us. In the future, it would be good to inform customers that such a place is mainly for kids and their Englsih comprehension and communication is limited. I would not recommend this place to anyone travelling far from abroad.

Location is far but has shuttle bus from Sapporo station which is ok. There was no air conditioning in the room which was turned off, so the room was very stuffy. As the hotel is not at full capacity, all the restaurants are closed so you are stuck with a buffet every meal. The nearest convenience store is around 10-15 mins away. The swimming pool and spa are decent.

The entire building was clean and nice, and the mattress in the room was quite hard.

This time, my family of three, including my newborn son, went to Sapporo on short notice from Hakodate. Even though we made a reservation on the day, they prepared a nice room for us, which was great. The hotel also had all the facilities and equipment you would expect for a comfortable stay with children, and when I asked the staff for breakfast and dinner, they even prepared baby food for me, which was really helpful. Even preschoolers could enjoy the pool as long as they wore water diapers and swimsuits, and they also had rental swim rings that you could put your feet through, so there was no need to worry about drowning. I'd like to stay here again if I have the chance. Next time I'd like to stay for more than two nights!

It was a fulfilling hotel! The breakfast was different from other hotels and I really enjoyed it. The room was clean and the hotel was perfect, so I would like to stay there again.

Although the hotel is older, it is very clean and tidy. Please note that water slides require additional charges, and you need to pay attention to the opening hours of the outdoor swimming pool. Since we stayed in June, the weather was not too hot, so although the indoor swimming pool has warm water, it was still a little cold. It is recommended that if you have children, it would be better to wear long-sleeved swimsuits.  On the contrary, the hot spring part is more surprising, with an outdoor independent bathing location. The indoor bathing areas are very spacious. There are also many places to wash up. It is also worth mentioning that it is highly recommended to purchase dinner. The crab legs for dinner will definitely make the hotel worth the price! Because their crab legs have a lot of meat, are very fresh, and don’t taste like ice cream! There’s no need to worry about not refilling, it’s always full!

It was crowded but I had a lot of fun

The bath was far away, but the hot springs were great. Everything was so big that it was hard to move around.

From the window seat, you could see the parking lot, but the night view in the distance was beautiful. I was glad that I was able to use the pool slide on the last day. There was a variety of meals to choose from, including Japanese, Western and Chinese, and they were all delicious. The omelettes, which you could request toppings for, were made right in front of you, which was great. I also liked that towels were provided separately for the pool and the hot springs.

Parts of the room were obviously stained, with dust covering the bottom of the bed and the bottom of the cabinet. It was inconvenient to visit the store to buy foreign fruits (cakes) during business hours, and razors were not provided proactively, causing inconvenience.

My child and I were staying together, so we were given a single room but they changed it to a twin room. They also provided the right size pajamas and a stand for my child, which was very helpful. One thing that bothered me was the constant dripping sound coming from the bathroom in our room, which was a bit creepy and scared my child. But my child seemed to really like the pool, so I'd like to go again! Thank you very much.

This is the first time I tried Trip.com, and I used it to book hotels for my 12-day trip to Hokkaido. Because I drove there and stayed there, some booked hotels the next night or in the morning. It was a good experience to try them out for twelve days. Having said that, this is the hotel I stayed in for the first night. It is an old resort hotel, but it is well maintained, the room is clean, the space is OK, and there is a hot spring ♨️ next door. The hot spring facilities are large and there are water slides outside. It is good to stay in summer. , is a good choice for a large hotel. The hotel has a large space for activities. The breakfast is a buffet, which is very rich. It is also cooked for you on the spot. Be sure to choose the room type that includes breakfast. I recommend it. After landing, rest here enough before setting off. Also has high CP There is no wrong choice to start the journey on the first day😄
