Pousada de Marvao – Charming Hotel

Santa Maria de Marvao|2.58km from Ruinas de Ammaia
The hotel is located in a mountain city and only one gate (Portas de Ródão) can be accessed by car. After entering, please use the downhill passage on the left, and then proceed along the city wall. After passing the gate of Porta Este De Marvão, turn right along the city wall and continue uphill. After reaching the top of the slope, turn right into R. de Santiago Road. Note that when you see a small road on the right (ie R. 24 de Janeiro road), enter immediately (don’t miss it). Proceed for about 50 meters to see an eaves arch bridge, under the bridge is the hotel reception. Please note that there are only 2 parking spaces (coordinates 39.393559, -7.376018) opposite the front desk, this parking space does not need to go up and down stairs for luggage and luggage. However, if the parking is full, you can only park at the other 8 parking spaces (coordinates 39.393512, -7.375692) near the R. do Embique road down the front slope. This parking space needs to go up and down stairs for luggage. Therefore, it is recommended to check in early. If the parking space you are using is not ideal, it does not matter. When checking out, you can put your luggage on the side of the front desk first, then drive the car over to load your luggage, and then leave. Although the road will be blocked during luggage loading, everyone is like this, it does not matter, other vehicles will wait patiently. The mountain city is basically a one-way street, it is best to ask the front desk to leave the route, so as not to go the wrong way. The 24-hour front desk staff are enthusiastic, professional and satisfied. The internal facilities of the room conform to the website introduction and are comfortable. There are waiters to clean the room, take out the garbage, change the towels and make the bed every day. Satisfaction. The hot water in the shower is good and worry-free. There are no slippers in the room, please bring your own. The view and service of the hotel restaurant are very good. The breakfast is rich and high quality. Dinner is exquisite. There are two lounges, very comfortable, don’t forget to enjoy them. If you live in the building opposite the restaurant, you can go back and forth through the arch bridge, which is of great significance in rainy days. I tried the Casa do Povo restaurant in the city. The local crock-pot lamb (with pictures, easy to order) is very delicious and highly recommended. It is recommended that Marvão exit the Porta Este De Marvão city gate and go down the hill to the ancient Roman road of Portagem via the Convento de Nossa Senhora da Estrela. The trail takes about 2 hours. Most of the trails are shaded. It goes down the road, and the birds and flowers are scented. The front desk provides free trail maps to Portagem under the mountain, recommends local restaurants and provides the phone number of the taxi driver on the return journey. If you can’t get in touch, the Portagem restaurant waiters also have their own familiar taxi drivers (the return journey is about 20 Euros, acceptable), don’t worry. I tried Hotel Sever Rio e Restaurante Sever by the Portagem River. Only the tomato soup is delicious and generous, so I can recommend it.

Sever Rio Hotel
4/526 Reviews
I asked for close rooms with broad views (presumes balcony for the river, mentioned in the phone call that was made to confirm reservation), at a date that was still open many reservations, with similar features to the request. They say that as a platform has done, requests are not answered in the same way, preferring those made in the hotel, and booking the best rooms for these situations. The rooms that were given have no balcony (as shown in the ad), are very small, have no gardeners (only crossings), no minibar refrigerator. The hotel is not a pool (as is underunderstood in the advertisement), it is a municipal river pool (?), has no water treated, is divided with the community. Only positive note: breakfast.
