Hotels in Kamari, Santorini

Cons: * Part of the restaurant/bar staff weren't so into customer service. It felt weird not to get even a hello sometime even we met everyday. We got a feeling that we weren't so important customers for them because we didn't eat in the restaurant. Sometime it felt like the hotel and the restaurant were even separate ”companies” * Umbrellas weren't practical which is such a shame! During 12pm-2mp it was already difficult to find free sunbeds and if there was, those were in the shade because you couldn't lower the umbrellas. Sunbeds are very close to others so it's also impossible to move them Pros: * Hotel staff! ＜3 We felt super welcome and they did everything to help us if needed. Reception staff were sooo nice, cheerful, had a great sence of humor and they just made us feel so good! We got a feeling they really cared about our stay there * Rooms and cleaning - waoh! I stayed in two rooms because my friends joined me later and that point we changed to a bigger room. So, both of the rooms were very nice, spacious and modern but not too much (I like more charming and picturesque hotels/rooms and this was it!). Best showers I've seen in Greece, always warm water and didn't need to wait water to flow. Cleaning was precise, towels and sheets changed everyday (optional so it's also ecological)... and finally, the view to the sea was spot on! Loved it! * Also the best breakfast I've had in this kind of smaller hotel in Greece. Lots of hot and cold varieties, hot dishes were not the same every morning, plenty of fruits, sweet things... 5/5 * Pool are is nice and clean, enough windy so it didn't get too hot there even in July. Very good sunbeds! Pool bar wasn't open the hours they advertised (opened later) but that wasn't a problem since you can have your own snacks and drinks when it's closed * Wifi was working well everywhere * You get beach towels with a deposit of five euros and can change those in reception * Location...couldn't be better in Kamari! Even it's so close to everything, never heard any noice while sleeping And one more time, I can't help it: BIG thank you for the hotel staff! You are the best! ＜3 also I want to send special thanks to the young guy who is serving people at the beach, your attitude is perfect for customer service and we had great laughs with you!

Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Santorine staying at The Alesahne Beach Hotel with three friends. On our arrival at reception we were welcomed by the lovely Maya who showed us to our rooms,printed us out a map of Kamara and as we had a late arrival where we would get something to eat . The hotel is just steps away from the beach with free sun loungers. Eating breakfast with a sea view is amazing. Rooms were cleaned daily by the lovely Amalia who was so friendly and helpful. We had a few days with no Internet but when brought this to management attention we were upgraded to another much superior room Thankyou Anna Hope to return soon and would certainly recommend The Alesahne Beach Hotel to everyone. Thankyou for a wonderful stay .

Acqua Vatos is a small boutique type of hotel in the heart of Kamari. Slight disappointments are that it is on the main road and the swimming pool is immediately adjacent to the road so is very noisy with a steady stream of coaches, cars, vans and quad bikes going past. The pool bar is basic and the hotel bar is not manned and consequently, there was never anyone in it. On the upside, our room was superb, clean, well appointed (although no tea or coffee making facilities), comfortable and a good size. Breakfast is excellent and wide ranging and you can have as much as you like. No other meals are offered though. The staff are very friendly and very helpful and although on the main road, the hotel is just a short walk from the beach and ”the *****” with its numerous restaurants and bars.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The ladies made for us  an early check in. The staff was generally attentive and the breakfast, including the zucchini pie were delicious.  The rooms were very clean and we wish have stayed longer inside the Jacuzzi. Plenty of memories!!!!

I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this hotel and the owners and staff are .. I have a 12yo autistic son who has never been abroad and hates change and pretty much everything ... I had been able to speak to the owners before hand and explain and wow they went wayyyy above what you would expect to accommodate us.. the hotel is gorgeous 2 pools and areas 1 more quiet with pool shower toilets and apartments with hot tubs clean cool air con obv .. no trouble is too much .. fridge and kettle with some don't have !! The. In the main hotel there are more apartments and rooms all beautiful clean and well laid out (we had 2 Apts) the pool for that side is more social with a bar and lots of couple type sofas and beds over the pool beautiful at night all lit up .. breakfast is served here and again beautiful breakfast ..it's the staff that make it tho especially Anna Marie and her family .. not only is she beautiful on the outside she is gorgeous with her thoughts and caring ... My son would not have stayed had they not been able to do all the extra bits. (Balloons toys quiet area etc ). We will come back again when we can . And it will be to here !! I just can't recommend enough .. kamari is the beach side for want of better description.. it's a ***** of beautiful restaurants cafes on level with the beach no steap steps like the other side of the island .. so straight into hot black sand .. wear beach socks! There is no tide as such and children can Wade out a fair bit before it drops so snorkeling at the edge of the sea next to us was possible ... Plenty of choice of type of restaurants but obv fish is an excellent choice .. oh and sorbet .. there is a small steep hill to get to the hotel (obv cars drop off and collect Inc taxis if u need them we hired a car ) but got used to that after a few days and I have a very bad back and hip! But prepare for stairs as they are everywhere except the front ***** in kamari it's quite level .. anyway hope the pics do some justice ..

We planned to stay here as a base for our honeymoon holiday however spent a lot more time around the pool than we were expecting to! We have been pleasantly surprised! The hotel is so clean, and has the most comfortable bed! Fresh towels daily and the staff are so friendly and helpful! We’ve loved our breakfast every day. The pool bar is open all day and through the evening with decent prices with a variety of snacks and meals! The chips are delicious!! We have captured the most amazing sun rises on the roof terrace, it’s a two minute walk to the beach and a short stroll to the local bus stop for buses into Thira - then on to Oia! The room is large, equivalent to two bedrooms and one hall with kitchen! (There are big beds in the bedroom, two very small sofa beds on both sides of the living room are enough for adults to sleep.) Although the breakfast is small, it is very delicate! Very delicious. ! The location is awesome, two minutes to go is the Black Beach attraction, there is a bus stop nearby (1.8 Euro). It is very convenient to transfer to many attractions (just need to communicate in English, the bus stop has a departure time of about 30 minutes) trip) Very suitable for children, elderly vacation! (The terrain is flat, bar street, restaurant, small supermarket is very concentrated, very lively Will consider choosing again!

Very nice room overlooking the pool, in fact just like the photograph - big and airy, muted colours, quite good storage and a very comfortable bed. We did have a few issues when we arrived, such as a broken toilet seat and a stained sheet on the bed - these were rectified very quickly when reported but really, housekeeping should have picked up on both beforehand. Towels were white and fluffy and like the sheets, changed regularly without us having to ask. A few improvements could be made - a hook for the hand towel and a proper hairdryer rather than the tube blowing hot air, for example. And who thought it was a good idea to put the safe at knee height right at the back of a cupboard. It is a very nicely designed hotel - most rooms look onto the pool which is a very attractive area. All sun beds were reserved by 8.30 although to be fair, most were occupied after breakfast. The pool is lovely although it would be even nicer if, like other hotels, inflatable toys were not allowed. On some occasions, it wasn’t possible to get in due to various shaped inflatables and noisy children/adults in the water - not the hotel’s fault particularly, but there were several groups of people there during our stay and they took over the pool/bar area. At breakfast time, some of them thought it was fine to walk in wearing just swimwear and bare feet - most hotels do not allow this. On the subject of breakfast, the paper napkins and table mats had a most peculiar smell not unlike manure - has no one else noticed this. The hotel is very near to the airport and planes come in low every day, making a lot of noise, but this didn’t bother us and we never got tired of watching them. The mini market behind the hotel sells virtually everything - very handy - and we hired a car from the place just along from the mini market for a reasonable rate. The resort itself is very nice with a long promenade and some very nice shops both along the promenade and in the street leading up from it. Something that did become slightly annoying on the promenade was running the gauntlet of the restaurant and bar staff who accosted us constantly, but I realise they are only doing their job. The beach. If you want a beach holiday, this is not the place. The beach is a disaster and those calling it beautiful must have gone to a different beach. It’s classed as pebble but it’s all sizes from shingle to pebbles to small boulders, and trying to get in the sea is all but impossible due to slippery and uneven rocks, even with beach shoes. Watching people trying to get in became a spectator sport for us. On top of that, the sea was extremely rough while we were there, making it even more dangerous. Disaster. Perhaps that’s why so many fellow guests stayed around the pool. Even the fact that most restaurants let you use their sun beds for free does not make it less of a disaster. Overall, a very nice hotel in a good location, and one we would stay in again if it were not for the beach.
