Amara Suites Santorini

Where do we begin… Dimitri & his family made us feel very welcome and at home from the minute we arrived! Myself & my partner got married in Santorini & a lot of our family stayed at Amara Suites. Dimitri’s communication before we even arrived at the hotel was amazing and he put all our minds at ease. He ensured our older family members were on the ground floor & that everyone that wanted rooms next to each other got exactly that. Upon entering our room we were greeted with a lovely bouquet of flowers, champagne and rose petals. My partner & I were absolutely blown away and it started the holiday off in the best way possible. All our rooms were absolutely magnificent. Clean, tidy & modern. I enjoyed a great nights sleep every night, the bed was comfortable, the room was dark and had very good sound proofing as we barely heard any noise at all. The jacuzzi baths on each of the balconies is a great touch, and all the rooms had great views. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day with fresh towels provided. The pool area was very clean & there were plenty of sunbeds for all guests. The pool was the perfect temperature to cool down in after relaxing in the sun. Dimitri allowed the younger members of the family to use some small inflatables and other toys in the pool which they very much appreciated. The pool bar was lovely & modern. They Served all the drinks we could have wished for, even kids cocktails. All top quality expensive alcohol, not cheap brands like many other hotels and bars. We would like to give a Big shout out to Renato who was very friendly and hard working throughout our stay, we had a great laugh with him! Breakfast every morning was a real treat. Plenty of food was brought out, fresh fruit, bread, eggs, bacon & plenty more! They even provided gluten free option for my partner. The food at Amara Suites is some of the best I have ever tasted. All our family absolutely loved every meal we had there & I have to say the pasta I had there is probably the best I have ever tasted! This coming from someone that has an Italian mum so it is a massive compliment! Dimitri was always around to help 24/7 if needed, gave us many recommendations & was all round the perfect host. He treated us like we were his own family & we couldn’t have wished for a more perfect place to stay. I never leave reviews on trip advisor usually however, I had to make an exception for this fantastic hotel. Hospitality like I have never experienced before, from start to finish Dimitri and his family made it the most perfect week for our wedding and we will remember it forever!! Stayed at the amara suites for 5 nights amazing stay dimitris and his family so welcoming do absolutely anything for you honestly felt so welcomed the hotel its self is beautiful 3 min walk from beach and all the bars and restaurants so no need for taxis but if you want to go out anywhere his brother and nephew will drive you and dont over charge you also the food in the hotel is 11/10 his wife mad me a lobster pasta which was unreal!! Great trip will be returning again Thanks again amara suites Liam

I stayed with my wife and daughter for 4 nights in July 2024. The location is very central 5 minutes walk to the beach. The size of the reception and pool area is not large but very clean and compact. The rooms were very clean and a great size. I loved the Jacuzzi bath on the balcony to cool down in the evenings ( super ☺️ ) The breakfast was huge nearly too much. Maybe a choice on the menu rather than filling your table with food would have been better. All staff very friendly Dimitri and family and special shout out for his brother and nephew they provided the taxi service and could not have been more friendly and helpful. I will be back so If you are going to Kamari, certainly this should be high on your list.

"It's all brand new" said the owner on our arrival, "you're going to love it!". Following on surprisingly with "it was refurbished in 2019". It wasn't brand new and we didn't love it. The reviews here definitely need some balance. Things are becoming tired and need refreshing, especially with our room. Breakfast was superb and anything you may want is available. However we didn't feel like spending much time in the hotel as the owner was over-familiar and made us feel slightly uncomfortable. We also found strangely that each time we came back to our room, the air conditioning had mysteriously been switched off. Kamari town itself is a short walk away and you are separated from any noise this may create. Walk along the beach at any time of day and you will find an industrial scale restaurant selection, with every single owner trying to convince you to enter, which quickly becomes tiresome. We also weren't keen on the black volcanic sand and pebble beach and the town itself being at the end of the airport runway. Plenty of places to visit with a hire car, bus or taxi however avoid peak season at these hotspots as you will be fighting against high tourist traffic, seasonal price hikes and cruise ship influx. It all comes down to personal choice and hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as others seem to have on here, but it's not for us.

I love reading a review and read about loads in this area and I kept getting drawn back to this hotel and everything you read is true!! we went for my friends birthday and we got treated like stars from when we got there! Dimitiris and the team were just amazing, his wife and son George and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. they made it feel like it was home from home, what was very clear was all the other guests we met who were returning guests just shows how great this place is. couldnt fault a thing about the hotel and cant wait to go back again, food, service, everything was 5 star! Miss you already Dimitris!

Where to start? We stayed at Amara Suites for 5 nights and it was the best choice we could have made! The hotel is really very nice and quiet within walking distance of the Kamari waterfront (full of stores and restaurants). The rooms are very nice and the jacuzzi on the terrace is wonderful. What we liked most, however, is that the hotel is family run and that here truly the guest is treated like a member of the family. Everything is perfect. The breakfast is plentiful and of the highest quality. We also had dinner the first night and it was also TOP. Dimitris and his family are wonderful as are all the staff who work there. Every request is met and every day you are greeted with a smile. Definitely the next time we return Amara Suites will be our hotel in Kamari.

From the minute we arrived, we couldn't place one fault with this hotel. Dimitri hotel owner, Ronado and staff go above and beyond to make your stay and overall experience the best. Dimitri was able to give us advice on what to do and see and the best places to go. We had wanted a buggie to rent to explore for tye day and he had it at the hotel within 20 minutes. Nothing is a problem. Amara suites is honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The amazing customer service from all the friendly staff, perfect location, immaculate room service daily and unreal breakfast every morning are just a few things to mention. The hotel itself is stunning and we recommend to anyone considering going to santorini. Thank you dimitri and team xo

We have just returned from a fabulous short break at the Amara Suites. This is a truly amazing hotel from the moment we arrived we were welcomed by Dimitrios and his family and shown to our lovely suite that was large and spotlessly clean. The breakfast here is fantastic with a huge range of fresh goodies and the restaurant serves lovely home cooked food. The location is great just a 2 min walk to a beautiful beach and bars/restaurants We have stayed in many too eve 5 star hotels and this family run friendly hotel sits up there with the best …we hope to return. We had a wonderful stay at Amara Suites. The suite was beautiful, very large with super comfortable beds. The view over the pool was lovely. Breakfast was amazing, freshly prepared every day. Dimitri and this team were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect. 5 mins walk to the beach and many amazing restaurants. Also a supermarket next door. We didn't want to leave, it was a brilliant holiday.
