I arrived with 3 friends for an 8-day vacation. We researched hotels for over 8 months and with a vote, this one won. BREAKFAST Chris and Michael were awesome. The food was good. We loved the local sausages. And coffee!! EVENING BAR: There was a terrible language barrier when placing orders with the older man at night at the bar. When we ordered food or drinks most of the time the order was not exact. Who does not know how to fix an amaretto sour? He did not understand what that was. I just had to order it on the rocks. ROOM: I requested a balcony rm w/ 2 beds and got 1 bed. Waited 3 days and was offered another room which was way smaller and was not equal to what type of room we originally paid for. We opted to stay in our room. I was told by staff that it's based upon availability-one doesn't make reservations for a room based upon availability. If I clicked on 2 beds, then that's what I expected to receive. The room furniture and bathroom needs updating. The pictures on your website does not match how our room looked. There was no ironing board in the room and was told there were only 2 on the entire property. Also when I did get one, it had a hole in it. Later in our stay, the bathroom ended up having a horrible smell. That never went away for the rest of our stay. One major complaint that I have is that the water at the hotel is not drinkable. They only give you water (2) bottles when you check in. We were never offered additional water for the rest of the stay. Water bottles should be given to the guest daily without requesting it. When we first got in the room. We noticed that it looked as if it was not cleaned. There was a thick coat of dust on the fridge and furniture. We had to literally go around and clean everything ourselves. Also when housekeeping came in to change sheets and or clean. They did a very poor job. It just looked like they made the bed and that's it. The room did not look like housekeepers cleaned it. TOWELS: don't know why housekeeping did not replace the towels in our rooms. We had to go to the front desk every night to get towels. CHECK IN: Johnathan assisted with all of my boxes that I brought with gifts for friends, which I appreciate so much. I was allowed to store them in the luggage closet. Some of the front desk staff, did not seem to be knowledgeable about what the hotel offered. They were not helpful with information regarding catching the bus. POOL: There is no used towels basket near the pool or where the lifeguard sat, they have to be returned to the front desk. The pool should have at least been opened until 9 pm. Love the Pool area-need to get covers for the chairs...stained The rest of the staff was fine and offered their assistance when asked.
