Such a brilliant find for us. Stayed a couple of nights before moving on but really wanted to stay longer. Such a wonderful host who cares about her property and her guests. And a wonderful breakfast delivered each morning. Rooms were unique and delightful

The location is great, away from the frenetic touristic crowds, more quiet and idyllic. The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything you might need, clean and made with taste and care. The host, Vana, and the staff are very friendly and discreet, going beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and unforgettable stay in the island. Added bonus the pool, where you can relax overlooking the Aegean! Amazing breakfast served in your own room!

We arrived from another hotel a few hours before the official check-in, but our room was already prepared. Within a half-hour, Ms. Vana had made us dinner reservations for that night and secured a rental car for the next two days. And we didn't just rent a car; the vehicle was delivered to the hotel. The process was extremely easy and convenient. As to the hotel itself, I have never before stayed in a room with three different outdoor views, which was a nice surprise. From the veranda in the back overlooking the pool down to the sea, a deck on the side with a garden/mountain view, and the upstairs balcony, we have several options for enjoying the scenery. The breakfast was fabulous and we enjoyed the company of "the lions," a group of nearby cats that are well-mannered, while eating in the sunshine. Also, our flight leaving Santorini at the end of our stay was very early, but a wonderful breakfast was prepared and delivered the night before. The Fisherman's House takes care of its guests, ensuring their comfort. We enjoyed staying there and took advantage of the opportunity to explore Akrotiri, Perivolos, and Perissa after a few nights in Fira. The Caldera beach that is across the street is a hidden jewel, and there are a couple of restaurants toward the lighthouse that are worth visiting. We were confident when booking that this hotel would be a good spot. It turned out to be even more than we expected, from the hospitality to the room itself to how you are treated like company that Ms. Vana and her team are happy to see.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We got a lot of insiders tips on how to plan out our sighting route of the day. I have learned from the staff where to visit, what to see and what time of the day is the best that I didn’t know before. Breakfast is phenomenal. You decide when your breakfast time and it is brought over to your balcony, like the room service. We make quite some overseas trips per year for the past few years, and never have had any free breakfast with quality like this before. Very impressive. We have had a great time there in santorini.will definitely come back again.

Stayed for 8 days, as part of a bigger trip in August. Two adults and two teenagers. Wonderful stay in beautiful appartment. Akrotiri is lovely, and Vana couldn't have made us feel any more welcome. Breakfast, pool, surroundings all wonderful. Vana helped us out with bookings/transport to lovely restaurants nearby...even supplying a cake for our daughter's 18th birthday! Thank you so much Vana to you and all the staff. We'd definitely recommend!

Having done lots of research on which part of Santorini we should stay, we chose Akrotiri, and based on Tripadvisor reviews, booked the Fisherman’s House. I can honestly say that this is one of the best accommodations we’ve stayed in, in our 18 years of travel. We arrived very late and we’re warmly welcomed by Vana. Taken straight to our room, asked if we needed food and asked what time we would like breakfast. I loved that the focus was on how we were. No bureaucracy of filling in forms, photocopying passports. Just, a very warm welcome. This was the the tone for our whole stay. Our room was split level and a good size , with the bedroom upstairs. A balcony on the side and you could see the pool and sea. Downstairs the bathroom, sitting area and a small fridge had a side and front seating area so plenty of places to sit and eat breakfast and while away the hours. Breakfast was delivered every morning to your room at a time you choose. Vana was always happy to be flexible and this allowed is to head out for early morning sightseeing, with a later breakfast. The breakfasts are generous and tasty and kept us going for the day. The guesthouse, rooms and pool are kept extremely clean by the team. Unlike larger hotels we’ve stayed in, our room was cleaned by the time we were back from a morning adventure. Akrotiri is a great base to explore Santorini from. Vana is wonderful in helping to plan where and when to visit and will book restaurants (with pick ups) every evening if you require this. One evening we were invited to Varna’s family celebration and it was so nice to be included in this. I have never felt as safe as I did when staying somewhere. We would venture out everyday to different parts of the island but lived to return home. The tranquil setting, the amazing accommodation and wonderful host Vana means we’ll never forget this holiday. Until next time.

First of all, thanks you a lot for your hospitality, we really love your personnality and appreciate your advices and kindness. Your house is fantastic (especially our loft), wonderful with a beautiful view on the sea from the swimming pool terace. And the breakfast ... Oh gosh what's this Amazing breakfast? First time ever we had difficulties to finish to eat (thank's cats to help us when we had to brush our teeth 😉). It was delicious. If we had book with Booking, we would have given you 10/10 because we can't give more than 10. So thank you again and be sure that we give your adress to all friends, family, collegues who want to go to Santorini! May be see you next time !

Amazing place to stay and perfect location! We had a wonderful week staying at The Fisherman’s House. With just 8 rooms and each room having dedicated sun beds and a parasol, it is perfect. Air con was great as well! We walked out of our room directly onto the pool and our beds, which are cushioned and comfy. The pool area was so clean and quiet, with a sea view to the eastern side of the island. The house is situated back from the road, and directly across the road is a brilliant viewing area for the whole Caldera, right up to Oiea and Fira. Look to see how many cruise liners are in the bay and whether it’s the right day to visit Fira! Vana is the most amazing host. She wants everyone to have a fabulous time and is there to help that, without overdoing it. She knows the island brilliantly- as well as some amazing restaurants with lovely views who will pick you up and bring you home! Vana and her staff also provide, at your chosen time, the most amazing breakfast delivered to your room or terrace. You don’t then need to eat till dinner! One minute up the road is the bus stop where there’s busses every 30 mins to the Akrotiri Beach in one direction, or up to Fira in the other direction, via the lovely Megalochori village which is well worth a visit. Just past the bus stop is the first mini market and the beginning of the village. The village is lovely - compact and pretty, with its own blue-domed church and cute streets. There are a selection of about 6 tavernas and restaurants, which were all lovely. Recommend Portobello especially for relaxed friendliness and nice food at a reasonable price. There’s also a bigger mini market plus a few little shops. Also lovely is to walk up to the Venetian castle. A short, pretty walk to amazing views and a fab cafe at the top! Beforehand everyone said Santorini is very expensive, but you can spend as much or little as you want, with Mousaka or gyros at about 12-15 euros and the local house wine around 10 euros a litre. As you can see, we loved it and had an amazing time. Lots of relaxing with a few little trips on the local bus to see a few towns. You could treble the cosy of your accommodation to have a place directly overlooking the caldera. Or quadruple it for an infinity pool overlooking it. But the Fisherman’s House is perfect otherwise, in every single way. We’ll be returning without a doubt. Akrotiri, in the south of this small island, is in itself pretty, and has easy access to the more popular and busier parts.
