We are a family of 4 and booked this hotel as the photos and description was promising along with the location. Now don't be fooled. We booked the Gaia room as it's a family room for 4. We checked in and greeted with 2 (each) Maraschino cherries from a jar on a plate....ok. We were then shown our room and this is where it starts. The room was tiny. This room would be fine for 2 people but not 4 people with luggage. there was no where to put your luggage and we had to fit suitcases all around the pull out sofa bed and hallway and under the small staircase. The sofa bed was pretty much a few metal rods with a 1inch thick mattress. Our two small kids even said it was really uncomfortable. The bedroom (small spriral staircase leading to a shelf) had no room and a low roof. This was dangerous to the kids even though we let them sleep in that bed so they could get good sleep. There was no where to sit in the room as the couch was out to become a bed. the photos are taken using a. very wide lens making it look big and bright. It's small and dark. I am 6.1ft and couldn't even sit on the toilet facing forward as my knees would hit the basin. The TV had no working channels.... Management said that they had a tv in the room, they never said it worked! The glasses were not cleaned, the bathroom had cockroach poo all over the floor, no block out blinds for kids to sleep once the sunrise hit early, shower had zero pressure where we couldn't even wash the shampoo out of our hair! We were also told that each time we want a hot shower or hot water we need to flick on the switch in the electrical box, I assume this is because they want to save every penny they can. You will also see that on the website it was the room comes with "Breakfast", this was another reason we booked. I questioned this to management and they just replied to say there is no breakfast and you can go to a restaurant across the road if you want (which was very average at best). When we checked in the hotel assistant said that the credit card/eftpos machine is broken and we need to play cash. This was bizarre as it was working. It felt dodgy. I said no chance and I was not going to walk into town to an ATM and make several withdrawers. So I did a bank transfer which at the end of the day being international my bank charged me $50Aud as a fee. After our complaint the management agreed to refund us 99Euros. Of course I said thanks. We have now been back for 3months and there has been no refund. 4 weeks after we got back I emailed to say where is the refund, they responded to say that their accounting has been busy and will sort it out. 2 weeks later I emailed again and again and now they are ignoring my emails. do yourself a favour and DON'T book this dodgy hotel. It will just make your holiday miserable.
