The room I was initially assigned to had a bit of a smell because it was near a livestock farm, but fortunately they changed the room the next day. It is located in a small village, so a rental car is a must. It is a great value hotel and a great place to experience the old, quiet atmosphere of Santorini!

The location was good and the room was clean and spacious. Breakfast by the pool was delicious. In addition, we want to stay if there is opportunity!

No views, remote location, lots of stairs, poor ac and it’s very hot in June, gaps in doors and windows for ac to escape, poor internet connection, food was ok but took over 45 mins to get it because 1 oven broke, forgot our drinks, 30 euros one way to get to bigger villages. Do NOT stay here. It’s not “Luxury” and Marriott should be ashamed.

I’ll start with the good stuff. The staff are amazing and the service from them was outstanding. Both pools are well maintained and a reasonable temperature. Every drink was delicious and the ingredients in the food were fresh. They looked after my daughter very well and when I got sun burnt they got me some after sun flamigel. The wine list and cocktail list are good. Now for the bad stuff. The room (technically a suite and not cheap). We got given room 204 (the key was marked as T4). It was the furthest from the reception. Don’t expect a good sleep if you stay in this suite as there is a road that runs in front of the room and you will get woken by vehicles. There is a car park about 15/20 metres to one side of the room and a building site in the opposite direction and although no work was being done during our stay it didn’t make for a beautiful view. To get to the reception from our room it was quicker to walk outside the hotel and down the hill than to walk through the hotel. Inside the room, the air conditioning makes a lot of noise. The toilet seat was broken. The wooden blinds let the morning light in (which shined directly in my eyes). The rooms are not big. We ate at Trataro, Alati and Pergola Pool Restaurant. The best being the breakfast at Pergola Pool Restaurant as it came hot, quickly and was a good quality. I was not a fan of the food at Alati although it was creative. The food took a long time at Trataro and when served was not hot and I ordered the seafood pasta which came with bits of broken shell in so left most of it. The value for money at Alati and Trataro are not good so if you are thinking of eating I suggest heading out of the hotel to any of the local restaurants as the prices are far less. We asked the hotel to organise horse riding and it seems the day staff and the night staff don’t communicate as this was ignored by the day staff and only when I came back to see the original lady I asked did it get organised but because it had been ignored there was no availability for the local (nearest) place and I had to use a different company which cost an additional 50 euros (the cost of the taxi to and from). The taxi would only take cash which created an additional problem of finding cash (I would have expected the hotel to have paid this bill as they didn’t do as requested originally).

My family and I had a wonderful time at the resort. The staff were great and very attentive. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the fact the hotel was located in a more quiet area of the island. I also want to recognize George from Blue Horizon Car rentals. George was very friendly , easy to work with and informative. He provided parking recommendations for every village we went to which was so helpful. I highly recommend using them if you need to rent a car.

Titanium Elite member here with extensive travel and a loyal Marriott guy. My stay was mediocre at best… Not only did they give me the worst possible room on the resort but it was almost like a diff level of service or atleast that’s how I felt. Maybe it was because I used points for a portion of my stay, which I earned by spending $$$ with Marriott brands. Upgrades were requested and they were available ( I searched the availability on the app and there were MULTIPLE other options)but my room was a Dorian suite here the loading dock with so much noise and loud talking from the staff it totally took away from relaxing in the room or early lazy mornings in the bed. Now, for the good, the restaurant staff at both breakfast and lunch and most of all at the onsite dinner spot were absolutely outstanding and the food was phenomenal. If doing it over I would choose another resort and spend less time in Santorini as well. I’ve stayed at a few Luxury Collection hotels around the world and have never had this level of service with a well earned status and my requests for upgrades.

I absolutely loved this property. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The amenities were great. The restaurants were delicious. I appreciate the hospitality and atmosphere of Vedema. It’s a great location and you can walk to nearby shops and restaurants. You definitely should check this property out. My wife and I really enjoy ourselves.

We stayed there in September 2024 — excellent hotel - the food was very good, the suite was superb and the service was brilliant! We took the Aegean Suite and jt was beautiful - in fact, the entire hotel was really good - as far as service is concerned, i have not seen better service in any other hotel in Europe for a very long time — all the staff - whether it was the concierge, the reception staff, the cleaners, the people at the restaurant — all of them — professional, cordial, attentive - very good. Thank you to all the people in the hotel - please keep up the brilliant work that you guys are doing!

We have just returned from a 10 day stay and overall it was quite a pleasant stay. Definitely not luxury though. We stayed in Suite Y1. Having stayed in some very beautiful hotels there are definitely improvements that could be made. Firstly, the room cleaning team need to sort things out. They come and clean your room and make the bed and you return to find it all clean and tidy. However, they take the dirty cups and glasses and don't replace them until another member of staff comes later in the day to replace them. Then someone else comes to replenish the coffee, tea, water etc. Another member of staff then later comes to bring a complimentary sweet or snack. We are the couple who has breakfast, goes to the pool and then later we return to our room after lunch to sit on the terrace or have a siesta but we were constantly interrupted with staff. One day I was on the terrace and my husband had gone to sleep. The cup and glass man came and had to leave everything on the table. Why can't the room be cleaned and serviced all at the same time? We also had a gate that led to the next door's terrace and on our first day the staff used our terrace to walk through to next door. We had to complain in the end as we never knew when someone was going to walk past our open doors and windows. It did, thankfully stop. There also was no information in the room giving trip suggestions or advice on the local area. Yes, there was a hotel TV info but this did not include any of this kind of information. There is very little entertainment within the hotel. We only encountered one lady performing during our 10 day stay and didn't even know she was going to be there! Where is the communication? I understand people go here for a peaceful holiday but a little light entertainment would go down well. There are 2 pools, only one with a bar. Why not have bars at both? The staff will come and ask you of you need anything but only when you can catch their eye. On the plus. The staff are very nice and helpful. In particular we would like to praise Lina and Michael working by the pool bar. They were amazing and so helpful. Also Michael at breakfast was so nice and friendly and always had time. The village square has 3 nice restaurants. Our favourite was Olio's and their staff were fantastic. Penelope, George, John and Panos. All incredible. Also the Reki bar next door. The taverna just down the hill from the hotel is great. Good value for money but gets busy at around 7.30 to 8. We loved a trip across the island that we booked in Fira. Great value at 200 Euros. If you want the sunset don't go to Oia. Way too crowded. Go to Franco's bar in Pyrgos, a short taxi ride from the hotel. It's a climb but thoroughly worth it and way better than the scrum in Oia.
