Gardenia Hotel

This is a lovely, traditional Greek hotel. Staff are all very friendly especially the manager, Franchesco, who was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable about Santorini. Unfortunately the pool was closed when we were there but this was out of the hotels hands and they did there best to explain why and provided a list of other pools nearby we could use. We had one of the rooms with a kitchen and balcony which was lovely.

The Gardenia is situated perfectly, far away from the main ***** to avoid the noise but close enough to take a very short walk in to. In the other direction 100m or so is the beach. The accommodation is clean and basic but perfectly adequate. Only downside which is picky is that when we arrived the bin in the room hadn’t been emptied and was full with pizza boxes & empty bottles of water. Don’t let this put you off though as it is really a little gem for the price.

Central located in Perissa - and near to the beach - Well done Gardenia staff and Jet2rep the pool is open again and beautiful… the hotel has a well stocked pool bar and is close to all amenities. Situated on a small quiet road this hotel offers everything authentically Greek. Hop onto a bus to Fira or chill by the pool at this lovely hotel

Had a fantastic two weeks ,the two girls on reception were amazing and made us feel very welcome they explained about the pool being closed but we already knew as tui had already reimbursed us we didn’t mind as we like the sea ,the hotel room was very clean lots of sockets lovely shower cleaned everyday by the hard working staff ,flora at the pool bar was lovely made our time there memorable the hotel wasn’t far from all amenities and we will definatly go back amazing holiday

Just awful, I really don’t know how people have rated this anything more than 1 star, rooms are so basic and don’t feel clean, 1 plug socket, hair dryer doesn’t really work, the noise throughout the hotel is unbearable, don’t think I slept more than an hour consecutively due to the noise! The air con leaked all over the floor right by our suitcases, we reported this to reception and they couldn’t fix the issue so moved us to another room for the last night which was meant to be an upgrade but the bed was like sleeping on a rock. We also had someone’s bathroom window on our balcony, no privacy at all! They could see us and we could see them. But the main issue is that the swimming pool had been closed prior to our arrival and during and still no sign of it being reopened at the end of our week there. We were not told this before we arrived so was a very unwelcome surprise to us as we booked this hotel based off the photos of the pool because that’s the sort of holidays we enjoy. They offered us a pool at hotel next door which was no bigger than a paddling pool. One of the worst hotels we’ve stayed in!

We came 19th august, pool is still closed and they have no idea when it’s being fixed. They said we can use the hotel opposite pool which is called Divelia however they have 11 sunbeds and 4 umbrellas! Their pool is also extremely small and they blast annoying music so loud. Going back to hotel Gardenia, the room is tiny and the bathroom is gross, no shelf for your shower gels, it stinks of rotten eggs and there is 1 plug socket in the whole room. I’m disgusted by this hotel tbh and wish Tui informed us the pool was closed for so long so we could book somewhere else. I have complained and they’ve offered me a £245 voucher which isn’t really good enough as we paid £1000 for this crap. So our only option every day is the beach which is €20 for two beds. Do not stay at this hotel. Not sure why other reviews are high.. people must have low standards.
