Aparta Hotel Turey

We were skeptical about staying at this hotel when we read the reviews before booking. However, considering the proximity to the location of the event that we would be attending everyday, we decided to book the first 3 of the 15 nights we would be spending in Santo Domingo at this hotel so that we could do our own assement. After the 2nd night, with my wife's approval, we extended our stay to 15 days. Below are the reasons for the extension. 1. Great location considering the proximity to the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez we had events at, a block to a supermarket for shopping for food, great coffee shops, fast food places to get in and out, and even a few nice bars and clubs 2. We did not only feel safe in the hotel, but in the entire environment as we strolled to and fro the stadium in the afternoon and evenings 3. The room comes with a perfect little kitchen, medium size fridge, electric stove, utensils & plates for home cooking and dining experience. We felt at home as we love home made meals. 4. Also, in the room is a dinning table with 2 chairs, 2 medium size bed side tables, a dresser, a full size closet and a TV. We had no issues with the TV throughout 5. The Bed is very comfortable with nice pillows which we enjoyed till we left 6. Free WiFi, initially had issue with the connection but Emmanuel helped to address the issue and we had great connection thereafter 7. Language barrier was broken with Google Translate app on mobile phones that all the receptionist - Ezequiel, Emmanuel etc. used with us throughout our stay. 8. Extending the duration of our stay after the first 2 nights was made easy by Emmanuel despite the online "sold out" message 9. Despite our selection to pay onsite, we were able to pay with credit card 10. I initially thought only cold water was available in the bathroom, but my wife who is smarter than me figured out the hot water 11. The AC in our room worked so well that we felt like not leaving the room for the scorching heat outside 12. All the hotel staff including the Janitor, despite not speaking English, were very helpful at making our stay there enjoyable The crack in the roof of the bathroom area of the room (possibly due to the age of the building) should be repaired urgently before it gets bad.
