BAD EXPERIENCE. They have not sent me directly to the HOSPITAL because the stars have aligned. I will tell you about my fateful experience. We arrived at the hotel last night, July 30, and the moment of check-in with the girl who attended us was good, because she explained many things to us. We asked her if there was lactose-free milk in the cafeteria (since I'm ALLERGIC) she told me yes and that they had all kinds of milk (lactose-free, soya...). On the morning of the 31st, we went down for breakfast, and after waiting, I'm not exaggerating, 15 minutes for two coffees, my partner ordered a normal one and another LACTOSE-FREE, because as I said, I'm allergic. The waiter must be that he does not know what lactose-free milk is, and has decided to put SKIMMED milk, (it must be that it is Skimmed because he thinks it does not contain lactose). I was outside, at the tables that they have at the entrance of the hotel, and I have not realized what happened, but my partner who was ordering at the bar, and is usually very aware of this (because it causes anaphylactic shock to a allergic person can be life-threatening) he realized and quickly told the waiter that this was not lactose-free milk and the waiter replied: it is skimmed. Anyway, I had to ask the girl at the reception (this time it was different) and I asked her for a claim form. The girl tells me that her partner must not have understood the meaning of lactose-free, but that he did not do it with bad intentions. I have explained to him that I do not doubt that he did it on purpose, but that a mistake like this in a person who cannot take LACTOSE can put his life in danger. I don't pay 90 euros for a hotel for one night and 9 euros for a breakfast that they couldn't even give me lactose-free milk. SHAMEFUL What happened today at the San Millán hotel. NOT RECOMMENDABLE.

Hotel Bed4U Santander

Santander|2.29km from Rey Del Jamon
Brand new structure (opened at the end of July 2022) in a suburban area near the busy Santander ring roads. Spacious, colorful and very pleasant common areas, friendly and welcoming staff even if the very young age betrays on occasion the lack of experience. Room not very spacious and rather basic with the idea, as scenic as it is uncomfortable, of the shower in the center of the room and only the toilet in a very small separate space. Going to the bathroom you can experience the same experience as astronauts in a Soyuz. Good soundproofing but occasionally a few sirens are heard. The rest, however, was perfect and the beds were also comfortable. It was difficult to find it despite google: the entrance is in a secondary street where, however, there is no sign; it would be enough to add an indication to signal the entrance. We did three laps (of the ring roads and holy navigator!) Before figuring out where the entrance was. There is also a bus stop just a stone's throw away. Free private parking around and under the structure but I don't know if there is enough space for all guests. Very problematic air conditioning: there are thermostats in the room but they do not work or are not enabled, so the air is managed room x room by a panel at the reception to which we had to ask three times to turn it on, then lower it and finally turn it off x night because noisy and annoying given the small size of the room. Very negative We didn't try the breakfast but all in all it seemed like a good point of reference for a stop & go near the airport where actually there are not many alternatives in Santander while I would not recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Surely the young management has some points for improvement but the structure is of a good standard

Silken Coliseum

Ticks all of the boxes. Location, secure underground car park on site, reasonable rate, very friendly staff, excellent clean and comfortable rooms. We didn’t look at so many other options when looking for an overnight stay (we were on our last night of 17 in our camper van). Silken Coliseum jumped out, looked like it was what we needed… and it was! We had lunch in the restaurant as it was a little too hot to go for a wander. It was excellent, as was the hostess. Bit of a language barrier as our Spanish is limited. But the food was as good as we had eaten all trip.

Chateau la Roca

Two nights in couple in this hotel where we found what we expected from the reviews we had seen. good quality/price ratio, check in and out simple and fast, gentle the receptionist, satisfactory cleaning and furniture, a little washing room but nothing bad, needs the car but parking is not a problem. the city centre is five minutes drive. there is no frigobar in the room and only one automatic distributor at the entrance

A great three star hotel, small but with all the amenities needed, tea and coffee facilities, very clean, close to the central area and bus and train station. Breakfast was excellent and staff very nice. I definitely would give it a three star plus.

Center Suite Santander

Our experience at Centersuite Santander was a pleasure from start to finish. We do not speak Spanish (we are trying to learn), and Yolanda who checked us in speaks no English. Using Google Translate, Yolanda gave us a very comprehensive guide to the hotel and the features in our room. We stayed in the Reina Victoria, one of only five rooms in the hotel. The hotel is on the first floor of a building in the main street through the town, and the Victoria room is at the back of the building. Despite the location, the room was very quiet. The bed (two twins pushed together) was very comfortable and the room was well equipped with a safe, fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. The widescreen tv comes equipped with Netflix included. The bathroom is spacious with a rainfall shower in a large wet room section of the room. The only negative is the toiletries. One dispenser that serves as soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. It feels like glue on your hair. Bring your own hair products. The hotel is a fifteen minute walk from the bus station, and has lots of bars and restaurants nearby. There are also several mini-markets and lots of cafes. We would definitely stay here again. Checkout is a respectable 12pm. I don’t think you could leave your bags here until your flight (not an issue with our 2pm flight), as the desk is unmanned through most of the day and it’s not possible to enter the building without a key, however there are lots of lockers at the bus station.
