Noone comes to the Costa Brava expecting fine dining or high culture but, however low your expectations, Santa Susanna will be worse. It consists of a string of large hotels and a caravan park surrounded by an industrial wasteland. The beach is lovely but unless you love burger and pizza joints and tacky fridge-magnets you won't find anything even slightly related to Catalunya. About 30 minutes' walk north is Magrat sur mer which has a bit of charm and seems to have a permanent resident population which helps. It has an Islamic community centre so make of that what you will. Even here though the grafitti is everywhere.

We spent a week here with 4 children. Pool was perfect, warm with shallow end and deep end. Smaller separate pool with slides for the little ones, but water was cold! Rooms were clean but very very basic (cleaned daily with towel change) Nothing in the rooms only furniture, no kettle, hairdrier etc (were given remote control for tv upon arrival) You can hear every noise from your room, it's like the bedroom door is open! All good sleepers, so didn't effect us. The restaurant is located down two floors from reception, the only stairs down. Toilets from the bar are also down one floor from same stairs. There was NO entertainment in the evenings. Everyone just sat around and drank. Kids were either running around playing or sitting down on phones. No kids club and the kids disco (if you could call it that) was in a dark room beside restaurant (back down the stairs). Music was just played in the room for kids and nobody was there to encourage kids to dance or do anything with them. It lasted 15 mins one evening and then turned on a movie! For the adults, there was a speaker playing in the corner outside that you had to sit as far away as possible it hear yourself. The karaoke was in a dark room off the bar inside, which mostly wasn't used, as most people sat outside. It was a microphone just left there for anyone who wanted to sing along. There is a shopping mall next door to the hotel, so should you forget anything, it can definitely be got here. The arcades in the hotel are a big scam. Nobody that I saw ever won anything from them. Most time it took money and didn't work. A lady asked reception to put an 'out of order' sign on them, which wasn't done. Food was alright, it's what you would expect from an all inclusive. Enjoyed ourselves everyday at the pool but the evening were just full of bordem. I wouldn't return to this hotel in the future.

Very good , i definitely recommend.Staff are very friendly and welcoming.The all inclusive food was good for all dietary requirements.The bedrooms are an okay size with a nice view from the balcony.The pool was very clean and nice with activities every couple hours.The girl who sets them up(Malak) was very sweet to me and my sibling making us all enjoy our time here).The separate pool witch was for 13 years and under was really good for younger kids was really accommodating for younger years that wanted to enjoy the pool without going into a deep end was really good with fun slides.

We arrived at 9.30pm tired and hungry. Having booked an all inclusive we expected to be able to at least get a snack. That was not the case. All that was on off was a pizza from the freezer at 12euros! Couldn't hear a thing reception where saying over the music. Finally worked out we had to pay for a cup that you have to carry around with you all holiday as they will only give you a new drink if you give in your cup. Food was awful and the same for lunch and dinner everyday. Plain Pasta chips and two types of meat. The label for the dish literally said "beef in sauce" so who knows what its ment to be. We ended up eating out as its awful food. Entertainment was karaoke every single night. It gets a bit tedious hearing drunk people screaming in to the mic everyday. No way to hang a do not disturb sign on the door so cleaner will be everyday. Even if your naked in your room and forget to lock your door. Toilets in the common area do not have locks so get ready to be walked in on mid wee. There are lots of sunbeds however due to them being cheap plastic they are almost all broken. Husband sat on one and it completely collapsed in the middle resulting in him slicing his finger open. Made the hotel awear of the damaged bed and it was left out. Put back out again everyday of our holiday for someone else to do the same. If you dont drink you only have fizzy drinks to pick from as you have to pay for water and there's no juice ect. The whole place just felt cheap and like they wanted to cut costs would not go again.

Dreadful holiday we are 2 well travelled ladies who booked for All inclusive with entertainment so we didn’t have to go out at night for safety reasons, however never have I encountered anything like this place…. The so called animation staff were worse than useless all they did was put up 2 nets in the pool everyday then disappeared and in the evening they plug in a karaoke machine EVERY NIGHT with no organisation or participation in the most dingey, dark room next to reception. Not the entertainment program advertised on booking. We were deeply disappointed with it and then had to go out in the evening to avoid boredom at more expense to ourselves! We asked at reception about enter and they were non plussed. Honestly do not pay to go here even though it’s a budget hotel in the middle of nowhere!

Fantastic place fantastic staff everyone helps you the food is brilliant their own food and I’m in a wheelchair and everyone helps me here and there are 2 pools and jacuzzi is brilliant aswell and the entertainment is fantastic aswell thankyou to all the staff that have helped me to enjoy my holiday I really appreciate it thankyou xx

We had a wonderful time, the rooms were fine, the bar was excellent, the food was acceptable Having stayed in many resorts this hotel met our requirements and we had a wonderful time Would I stay again, without a doubt - yes
