Hotel Bahia del Sol

After reading the reviews, I felt cautious about staying here with my boys. However, we had an amazing time during our 5 ngt stay. Positives - location was close to beach, shops and bus stops (123 to Palmanova/Magaluf, 122 to port d’Antratz as well as bus to Palma/airport). Our room 201 was great for us, very spacious and clean with well positioned balcony overlooking pool. Fresh towels daily. Powerful, hot shower. We had a double room and I had been a bit sceptical about how that was going to work with 3 of us, but we got 2 single beds and sofa bed (my boys are 9 and 12) and this configuration worked fine. Small fridge was useful for cold drink storage. Pools were both great. Yes the outdoor one was cold but quiet as a consequence so that suited us! Indoor one was warm, with lovely sauna too. Jacuzzi was out of order whilst we were there sadly as this would have been another great hit with the children! Food was all great for us - a plentiful choice of approx 4 varied meats and 2 fish dishes every night with carbs and salad/veg/fruits. We ate well here but acknowledge the fact the food isn’t as hot as it could be due to the help yourself set up. We sat at different tables in the dining room and the children liked that variation. Breakfast had plenty of options too but perhaps not quite as much as other hotels I’ve stayed in. Roof top bar on level 6 was very lovely and worth a visit for the views as a minimum! Negatives - no tea/coffee making facilities in room but kettle can be hired for 10 euros. Safe in wardrobe but usage chargeable too. As per other reviews, water chargeable at evening meals (2.90 euros for 50cl) if only half board, but of course, free at breakfast along with hot drinks and juices. Taking your own drinks in the dining room was strictly forbidden. Air con was not turned on in April (I asked at reception but it was still classed as low season) and it was too hot for us so we left balcony door open for air circulation! Fridge was noisy (buzzing) so we turned it off overnight. Entertainment limited but that was fine for us. Sun beds surrounding outdoor pool always had towels on them but no one there… same old story but for the bar area had plenty of chairs and tables which we used instead. Bike hire from the hotel is for professionals rather than for novice/fun use! Overall, we had an excellent, great value for money holiday. My friend and her girls loved it too. Staff were accommodating in placing us up the corridor from one another, which was welcomed. We visited the jungle parc (10 min walk from hotel) and it was amazing for the kids! At 15 euros each, that was money well spent! We did a nice 2hr glass bottom boat trip from Santa ponsa, inc 15 min to slide off boat in to the sea (45 euros for 1 ad and 2 ch). Also visited Palmanova (beaches there seemed much cleaner than santa ponsa) and we hired bikes there. Port d’Antratz was beautiful and worthy of a visit too. The room was basic but nice, and we had a balcony which was a big plus. Food was terrible, not warm, though desserts were really nice and continental breakfast was good, drinks were not included with the evening meal apart from for all inclusive guests, which was not fair, downright snobbery, I need water with food, for medical reasons, the toilet smelled terrible, for the first two days, but the downstairs was lovely, and the pools lifts were complicated, we did not get our deposit back for the safe, but was close to the beach, shops and supermarket.

Lovely, comfortable, clean hotel with a super indoor spa pool. Food was decent although lacked inspiration. Mushrooms at breakfast for vegetarians would make a difference to the offering. Close to the beach, bars and restaurants and a short easy walk to the centre where you will find more of the same including a large Euroski supermarket. Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend.

We just come back from bahia del sol very poor hotel ,food Horrible ,greese no recommended this hotel.No program for kids or adults, small room nothing in the room,no kettle, small flights, mini fridge very noisy, smell from air condition omg kill you 😡 , air condition very old not working properly , staff not friendly. I pay for 10 nights €3.650 but I must eat outside because the food in the hotel was descusting (****i ).this hotel has 4 star but 3 stars hotel has more clean room kettle coffee, everything, pictures hotels are fake.if you need something Example towels or kettle or iron you need to pay extra money. I never see that swimming pool someone clean I was here 10 nights .I not recommended this hotel

The hotel is located in a prominent position, it is lovely & clean staff are friendly and helpful, food & drink needs improvements for breakfast & dinner, food is very basic, lacks inspiration for a 4 star hotel here. Rooms are spacious and upkeep every day.

The hotel is in a great position and our room had a lovely sea view. The staff were all very nice and friendly. There was some refurbishment of the bar going on during the day while we were there but they always had it tidied away for the evening. The hotel seems to be aimed at the German guest market and the food at the buffet did reflect this, however there was always something to eat and there are some good local restaurants in the area as well. The outdoor pool was closed but there is a nice warm indoor pool which we used. I would stay here again but probably in season to see what the Santa Ponsa area is like when everything is open.

Nickel and dime for e v e r y t h i n g. We stayed in 2 different rooms and they were okay. But for the price it's was definitely not worth it. Pool was dirty (not just filled with plants, but also dirty). Coffee pot dirty so we asked for 2 cups of coffee. 12usd. Okay location. Beach out front helps.

Me and my partner had a pleasant stay at this hotel over all. The Bahia del sol was in a great location, in the center of santa ponça. Reception were also happy to give us bud time tables to Palma etc. The rooms were newly refurbished and spacious. Air con worked great and rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed. Our sheets weren’t changed at all in 7 nights. This would have been a nice touch but no big deal. Beautiful beaches and coves on your door step. Food was pleasant, nothing spectacular but a huge selection and very tasty. Restaurant staff clearly working very hard. Hotel staff were great on the whole. roof top bar was beautiful but had a bad smell of sewage. Not sure if we visited on a bad night but cocktails were fresh tasting and delicious. Would have been nice if it was included in all inclusive but no big deal. Pool could do with a clean, especially the kids pool which was gritty and sandy. The pool area however to look at was gorgeous! Obviously they had spent a lot of money refurbishing it.
