Either with children, family or with friends, this is the jewel of Huatulco! It is very comfortable, relaxed ambiance, the view is incredible and Amy is an extraordinary hostess. The breakfast is warm and welcoming. It is very safe and the beach is at walking distance if you don’t want to swim in the extraordinary warm pool. That will be the place for my next visit. Enjoy Agua Azul La Villa for your next vacation!

This was our second stay at Aqua Azul la Villa, and it did not disappoint. That being said, I understand that most, if not all reviews are subjective, as we're all looking for our perfect oasis. Well, for us, this is the place. Aqua Azul provides the perfect balance, from all the amenities we can think off, the hosts Amy and Frank, to the spectacular views, location, (at least for us), beach chairs, shade umbrellas, and all the little extras that Amy provides. A light breakfast is provided each morning, and Amy was gracious enough to let us have ours a little earlier than the norm so that we could head out on our walk. Thank you! Amy is also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to local restaurants, entertainment, tours, beaches, and so on. If you don't have the What'sAp Ap on your phone it would be a good idea to download so that you do. Most of the taxi drivers and restaurants utilize this app to communicate, as does Amy, which is very helpful. There is also a great bookshelf in the common area where you may, or may not find something to read, if that's your thing. Oh, and lets not forget the access to an incredible beach just a short walk/hike away, maybe 10 minutes, really depends on the individual. The trail down to the beach is a little steep at the start, certainly not a deal breaker given the reward at the bottom. And although some guests found it a little easier than others, that didn't stop Frank from adding a length of rope at the top portion to help out those guests that may otherwise not of ventured down the trail. Thanks Frank. The rooms are perfect for us and provide everything we need, after all most of our time, outside of sleeping, is spend outdoors. Aqua Azul is a little ways out of town, about 7-8k, a relatively short cab ride. Cabs cost approximately 80-85 pesos into La Crucecita, or Santa Cruz areas, and it's best to ask before you get in. The Tangolunda area is closer, approximately 2.5k, you can cab it, or it's a nice walk earlier in the day, or just before sunset if you choose to do so. We walked a lot, pretty much every day, the area is very safe, sidewalk all the way to town, or if you like you can head the other way to La Boccana, another great spot with a couple of restaurants, beach to walk, and some surfing. This is where the Copalita river meets the ocean, lots of birds, and a really nice place to chill. We like the fact that we're not right in town, it can be very busy, and a little noisy at times, but if that's your thing, then go for it. But if you want the perfect blend of relaxation, beach access, quiet nights and stunning views then Aqua Azul is a great choice that won't disappoint. I know we'll be heading back for another visit at some point, and expect it to be no different than the first two adventures at Aqua Azul!

Agua Azul is a great alternative for those who don't want to stay in an all inclusive, and are more into what the nature of Huatulco has to offer. With 2 excellent beaches within a short walk, and close proximity to Playa La Bocana and other excellent beaches, Agua Azul offers so much at a reasonable cost. Playa Tejoncito, a 10 minute walk away down a steep trail offers a beautiful quiet beach with shade trees, swimming and very good snorkelling. The access to La Crucecita and Santa Cruz by an inexpensive (85P), short cab ride, make AA an oasis of tranquility after a day in town. Returning in the evening after enjoying what town has to offer (excellent restaurants, shopping, culture and music), it was so wonderful to unwind with the sound of the surf, and the moonlit ocean view. As others have mentioned, Amy is the consummate host with great advice and information. Agua Azul is not 5 star luxury, but is 5 star in all other aspects thanks to Amy's caring attention to her guests. Our stay, 23 wonderful days. We found that the other guests were interesting adventurous people and had many enjoyable conversations in the common area during our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Agua Azul B&B. The B&B is located in a gated community overlooking the ocean. Close enough to hear the surf at night and nothing more. The place is so quiet we thought we were the only guests there until we came up the next morning and met the few other guests at the host's healthy breakfast of local fruits and yogurt. We enjoyed the public beaches with their authentic outdoor restaurants right on the beach, but if you're looking for solitude on a beautiful beach with crystal clear water its right down from hill from Agua Azul BB. Now back in the snow, we can't wait to return.

We stayed with Amy at Agua Azul la Villa for one week and absolutely fell in love with it and the area. It was our first time exploring Huatulco and we can't wait to come back. Amy and Agua Azul exceeded our expectations, it is a magical place and Amy makes you feel so at home that at times I felt I was staying at a friend's house. She is so informative, gracious, generous and made our stay incredibly memorable and special. Ask her anything and she will have the answer and because she is bilingual, she can respond in either spanish or english! We are easy going, laid back, down to earth people and this place was a great match for us because Amy has that same vibe. There were so many things we loved about this place and our time there but I will start with the physical setting and the view. We got up early every morning to see the sunrise over the water, every morning was a little different. all gorgeous and the birdsong accompanying it is wonderful. You can view it from your personal terrace or up in the main common room which has open views to the water (everything faces the water as it should!) AA is up on a hill in a residential section called Residencial Conejos which we loved as it was near the ocean, great views of water and the mountains, but quiet, tranquil and away from cars and lots of people. We walked every morning, sometimes on the beach, sometimes towards Tangolunda bay or towards Playa Bocana. There are well maintained wide sidewalks all over the place for walking in any direction including all the way into La Crucecita if you wanted. We loved having breakfast included which was a variety of fruit, granola, yogurt, little pastries and hard boiled eggs. It was a nice time to chat with Amy and some of the other guests who were so friendly. One amenity that we very grateful for was that Amy keeps a fridge in the common room stocked with cold beer, wine, seltzer and soda that guests have access to and take what you want, all on the honor system, and just mark what you take on the white board. She also has koozies to keep your beer cold (so important!). Beers are 30 pesos each, about $1.75 US. She keeps a large water cooler full so you can refill your water pitcher from your room anytime. She also has sunscreen and bug spray you can purchase. Good to note that the beds are very comfy, AC unit in the room works awesome. You have walking access to 2 beaches from Agua Azul that involve a 10 to 15 minute walk on well established trails to get there. Both trails are steep in places and the path down to Playa la Tejoncito at the top is steep enough to have some well placed and sturdy rope for you to hang onto as you negotiate. Amy has walking sticks you can borrow to help on these paths which I highly recommend as well as footwear with some tread. Tejoncito beach is the smaller, more protected beach that you can reliably swim in and is associated with the property Celeste Beach Residence resort which is right on the water's ed

This place is absolute heaven on earth - there aren't enough words to describe it! We were incredibly fortunate to have found this unassuming little corner of paradise. So comfortable, so fun, so relaxing, so enjoyable, so easygoing - we just wanted to stay forever! Could. Not. Recommend. Enough! The room: Amy was kind enough to put us in the Pelicano, which is the highest up, the most private, and with the best view. Large room, excellent AC, comfy bed (though short if you are a 6'3" Canadian), lots of room for two men, big bathroom, excellent shower, room is refreshed every day except Friday, lovely balcony with stunning view, and a hammock and chairs to relax in. We didn't need anything else! The property: Built on a hillside facing to the west, so gorgeous sunsets and a staggering view. Lots of stairs, so probably not the best for highly mobility-challenged people, but easy to navigate. Lovely little pool to relax in and cool off at the end of the day. Beautiful landscaping so plenty of birds and other critters to observe! The breakfast: every day from 8:00-10:00 (but flexible), Amy lays on a great spread of pastries, yogurt and granola, coffee, tea, juice, sometimes toast, LOTS of fresh delicious fruit. The breakfast room is beautiful with the signature postcard view, and always lots of chatter with the other guests for recommendations, updates, etc. Wine, beer, spirits, pop, etc. are available for purchase, and endless water for free. If you are extra nice to Amy she can possibly lend you snorkelling gear, beach chairs and umbrellas, and hats. Bring a fridge magnet to add to the collection! The local area: of course the beaches - can easily walk to two! One is a shorter but slightly steeper hike (maybe ten minutes) to a smaller beach, very calm, good snorkelling, a few people but not a lot, very beautiful and relaxing, some shade available. The other is a slightly longer but flatter walk, and is ABSOLUTELY HUGE! And basically no-one there! Unbelievably relaxing. However, when we were there the waves were quite huge and the swimming was not great, but still a stunning beach. Right next door to AA is a full-service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner - excellent food and drinks, and great service. The wider area: a short 40 minute walk away is the neighbourhood of Tangolunda (or TL as we locals call it), which has a few cafes and shops, notably Cafe Juanita, which was delightful. A short cab ride away (85 pesos) is the town of La Crucecita, which has all the shops, coffee places, street food, taquerias, bars, restaurants, etc you could ever want! And of course there are dozens more beaches, each with their particular allure, so you can literally go to a different beach every day for weeks! Amy: by far the best thing about Agua Azul is the owner, Amy. Fluently bilingual, she can easily rattle off the answer to almost any question you might have, and if she can't, she find out for you in minutes (and if she still can't, she

We spent 25 nights here, and loved it! It is small, friendly, and provided the perfect place to relax. Amy serves a delicious breakfast every day, and is also a wealth of knowledge about the area. She goes out of her way to ensure your stay is everything you want it to be. It is a bit far from the centre of town, but that was an attraction for us. Taxis are plentiful, quick to respond and cheap, so it was easy to go into town at any time. Some of the most beautiful beaches are only a short walk away, and the view from any of the rooms is spectacular. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Amy and Francisco have created a lovely retreat away from the hustle/bustle of the “all inclusive” resorts. Their B&B is located in a quiet neighborhood. Amy provides a lovely continental breakfast each morning along with a great cup of coffee. She is a wealth of information on the area and can make recommendations for restaurants, etc. The a/c was awesome and the bed was very comfortable. The views were unparalleled. Daily maid service was provided as were beach towels. We loved having access to flippers, coolers, koozies, hats, etc. Amy & Francisco keep a stocked refrigerator of beer, water, wine using the honor system for payment. The nearest beach is a “walk through the woods” which sounded easy enough but it was a little sketchy if you were wearing flip flops. We suggest wearing tennis shoes. The beach was practically deserted and absolutely idyllic. It was very relaxing and the water was warm and the bay was calm. We’re rating it Very Good vs. Excellent because we felt the bathroom needed updating which we believe is on their “to do” list. We could not have found a more beautiful, peaceful location than Agua Azul. Amy helped us navigate a few sticky situations we had with a phone left in a taxi, and a vacation presentation scam. We will be back!

Simply amazing – the location, views, and our host. I loved my time at Agua Azul. It is in a posh gated community overlooking the ocean. Our host, Amy, is very friendly, communicative, and full of pro-tips. My room was clean, quiet, and comfy with housekeeping done every day – which was unexpected. My room had a wonderful partial ocean view for when I was napping, reading or sleeping! Most days were spent at the beach. The common eating area has a breathtaking view overlooking the ocean. You do need a taxi to get around and thankfully, Amy provided 3 drivers we would WhatsApp on the regular – they were very responsive and helpful like Amy. The icing on the cake was the beach located a block away. Overall, a wonderful experience. Thanks for everything, Amy.
