Casona Sforza

Absolutely beautiful place. Breathtaking Arquitecture, delicious food and superb customer service. Each space in the hotel seems perfectly designed. Went with my wife and had a spectacular time. The beach is beautiful, however waves arent great for swimming (other Puerto Escondido beaches will do better in that sense).

On a normal visit this hotel would be absolutely stunning, and the perfect place to relax, the rooms are lovely and the service is fantastic. Unfortunately on arrival we were greeted with an extremely loud construction site next door encroaching on the whole property, it was unavoidable as it was next door to the swimming pool and in front of the balcony’s. From 9am until 6pm on both days we were there all you could hear was the construction site which were using big drilling machines for the foundations. While we understand that the construction is not the hotel’s fault, we were extremely disappointed with how the hotel handled the situation—or rather, how they failed to address it. The hotel was aware of the ongoing construction prior to our arrival, as they confirmed it had started weeks before our stay. However, we were not informed of this in advance. Upon check-in, all we were told was, “We hope you can still make the most of your stay…” This level of communication and service is not what we expect from a hotel of this caliber and price. This review serves as a warning for anyone planning an extended stay. The constant noise from construction is unavoidable and could easily ruin what should be a relaxing holiday. After traveling for two weeks, we booked this hotel for our final two days to unwind by the pool, but unfortunately, that experience was marred by the ongoing disruption.

The design of Casona Sforza is extremely thoughtful and it seemed every detail was taken into consideration. The staff was excellent and very attentive. The beach is pristine and the pool was the perfect place to lose track of time and lounge. We got massages on the beach which I would highly recommend. We also did the sunrise with dolphins tour which held its promise of seeing dolphins and whales. The dolphin tour is a bit confusing once you arrive as there were dozens of other people waiting on the shore to get on a boat. Our driver helped us flag a boat which was lucky but come prepared to ask someone for help getting onto a boat if your driver does not follow you to the shore. Overall the experience was amazing and we can't wait to come back, we miss it already.

Such a beautiful hotel, pool, and beach area. Food was great, service spectacular. Also loved that hotel was a little remote without being that far from town, and only had like 10 or so villas so it was a very intimate experience with plenty of space for everyone.

The place is truly magical - the service is exceptional. Would highly recommend for couples looking for an intimate getaway. It's tucked away just outside the main tourist drag of Puerto. The location makes you feel as if you are in your own personal oasis with a gorgeous, more private beach and exceptional staff.

Superb place to relax for 3 days. The hotel decor in the rooms and around the hotel was stunning. The pool was a highlight and we spent a lot of time sitting by it. As there are only a small number of rooms in the hotel we often had the pool to ourself. The food was excellent and the service from all the staff was fabulous. The beach itself is very wild and not swimmable but there is a glorious swimming beach at Carrizalillo about 20 minutes away by taxi.
