The perfect destination in Sardinia especially if you are planning to go with your family. The children are the VIP of the resort, with dedicated sports activities and entertainment! The food is also one of the best to find in Italy and the diversity keep you satisfied even if you decide to stay for a longer period.

Yet again Marcello the manager of the Castello makes sure he keeps his finger the pulse and goes out of his way to greet his guests and make sure they are enjoying their stay. The sea with its crystal clear water makes the beach an inviting option and the September breeze was very welcome.

Its a real village but the quality in food in entertainment and exspecially the forte spa and restaurant belvedere are one of a kind on this planet! More than 5 stars and marcello the hotel director knows hospitality and how to make a vacation great and to remember, a first timer but definitely come back for sure

In summary: service is excellent and attentive, but this resort is in sore need of a major uplift in facilities. It is frankly tatty / shabby and overall pretty disappointing. Read on for detail. We have often read about how wonderful this resort was. We knew it was large etc, with lots of sporting facilities, but we were curious. So when an opportunity to bid for a long weekend here came up in an auction - we did, so we could give to a good cause and satisfy our curiosity. We are a couple in our early 60s who live internationally and travel all the time across the globe. The first thing we did was to upgrade our stay from the large “4*” hotel on site to Il Castello, smaller and 5*. We like things to be classy and quiet and even though we were early in the season, we didn’t want to be in the melee. We had hired a car so we could see something of the island. Parking it at the hotel was utter chaos. There is no car park as such for guests. Just a large dirt area, used by staff, many building contractors and guests - if you can find a space that is. There is no valet parking option. Il Castillo staff were friendly and helpful, and the service levels were good. On arrival, we were given a room upgrade without asking to an ocean facing suite, welcome drink, room was ready early etc. Our room was on the second floor with a large terrace. I believe these rooms may have been refurbished, but it wasn’t really clear. Warning: they have weird power sockets. Normal European plugs do not fit for some reason, and even reception did not have an adapter that fitted. There were no USB points. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room (but an old style minibar - how quaint!). Wi-Fi was adequate and free water was provided. But the room itself was properly tired. The shower was hard to control and bathroom fittings were showing signs of wear. The whole thing reminded me of those slightly disappointing faded independent Caribbean hotels. I expect that there - I expected better here. The common parts are large and echo-ey, with little real thought given to interior design by modern standards. Nothing cosy. The grounds etc are OK, but by no means as groomed and lovely as I’d hoped, and there seemed to be many little cottages close to each other in quite dark parts of the grounds. It isn’t actually a very large resort - a lot is compressed into an area that is actually pretty small by modern standards. Pools and so on are large with something of an older theme park vibe. Lots of tennis courts etc. As we were there when it was quiet, it was surreally empty but I would imagine it would all be heaving in the summer. Also - there were several large conferences booked in; it didn’t bother us particularly but if you do not like being mixed with large groups, better to check in advance. The main food area that was open for us was the outdoor buffet in Il Castillo, which was OK but not up to the standard of buffets we have seen elsewhere by a long shot. Generally d

We have just returned from our 9th trip to Forte Village. This time we stayed in the Castello Gardens Bungalows which were amazing. The resort itself is beautiful but what makes it so special are the team all of which are both helpful and friendly. The food is absolutely top notch and there is a great variety of restaurants. Our favourite was Cavalieri and we were always looked after by the wonderful Giuseppe and Giuliano. Our son always loves his trips and enjoys the variety of activities including the go-kart track where he spent most of his evenings and he was thrilled to meet ex F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella. My husband was very grateful to Gianfranco and Roberto from bike world at Forte who organised daily cycle rides for the guests with cycling legends Fabian Cancellara and Fabio Aru. We hope to come back very soon!

Forte Village is a beautiful and unique holiday destination. With its beautiful settings and multiple activities everyday was not only relaxing but exciting, especially for the kids. What makes this place so special is the staff, the attention to detail and people’s experiences, we were upgraded on arrival and this just added to the amazing experience. I can’t express how kind the staff are. I lost my watch at the airport and the staff specifically Marcello and Valentina went above and beyond to help me get it back. I can’t thank them enough. We had a wonderful trip and will be returning next year, as it seems so many others do too.

We love Forte Village! Since 1999 when we came here for the first time and after that it has become our summer residence. We’ve been here 18 times and let’s say our 3 kids grew up here. This August after a 8 year break we came again for 2 weeks to our favourite hotel Castelllo , with all our kids and a new husband of our eldest daughter. I’m happy to say that since those times FV has become even more better. Marcello, the manager of Castello, and all other staff were very polite and helpful as always. The services are at the same high level. We took our favourite room on the upper floor of Castello hotel. The room was spacious, with huge window and terrace facing the see and pine tree grove. The room was always cleaned well with fresh towels every day. Our favourite restaurant was always Beachcomber which we love for the great choice of super fresh fish and see food. This year they even expanded the menu, and you can always ask the chef to cook for you anything you like. For the evening our preferred place was the wine bar with huge selection of wines and champagne and delicious Italian appetisers. Our kids were always busy with sport, swimming or any kind of sea or beach activities. Snorkelling they found the octopus who lived in the rocks and they swam to see him every day. It was great experience, so many pictures!

If you are looking for a 5* luxury holiday to Sardinia in October, do not come to Forte Village. Due to it being the end of season, the hotel is 70% closed which was not made clear at the time of booking. The hotel is run down and tired, the swimming pools are dirty and there is absolutely zero atmosphere. There are minimal staff and limited opening times for the amenities and pools. The staff are mostly accommodating when you ask for something but you are basically left to your own devices during the day. You have to get your own towels at the pool and chase someone down to get a bottle of water. There is not even a shop open to buy water for your room. There is one restaurant open for lunch when the hotel states there are 21 restaurants on site. When you try to order a drink they have no stock so give something else. When my husband tried to raise this with reception staff they pretty much said ‘it’s the end of the season so there is nothing we can do about it’. The hotel gave us an upgrade to our room on arrival which was hugely appreciated but when we were speaking to the receptionist about all the facilities being closed she said we should go and enjoy our room as it was upgraded. We have not come to Sardinia to sit in a hotel room. This is not what I would expect from a hotel that is 5*. If you cannot run the hotel the same way as in the summer this should be clearly stated when accepting bookings. We have been extremely disappointed with what was supposed to be a luxury family holiday with our young baby.

Booked this hotel on recommendation of my late mother who had been here several times and told me we should go. We came here to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and on arrival, we were offered an upgrade from Pineta to Hotel Castello and we were giving a beautiful villa room which was really spacious. We had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in the room which was a nice touch. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is so lovely with plenty of beds. The service was very good and the food was also amazing (especially the pizzeria). Our favourite place was the Wine Bar, so relaxing here and the Sommelier (have forgotten her name) was so welcoming and friendly and you would get lovely snacks with your wine. Also, the entertainment was very good and the girl singer was just another level. The one thing we did find disappointing was, that as it was later September, everything seemed to wind down, certain restaurants were closed and some of the shops had closed already.
