This is not a 5 star hotel. There are 5 star aspects but it’s not overall 5 star. Let’s start with the good - rooms are nice and comfortable, food was overall good although sometimes lukewarm, pool area was nice with a really good vibe and good DJs, Helios food was the best food, good location, at first glance the hotel was very impressive. The not so good - service was sometimes slow, you get offered a drink with your meal and they never come back to you for a second order, queues to get taken to a table in the main restaurant, rooms are tidied but not cleaned, doors on the inside of the lifts were filthy, not enough lifts and you didn’t know if they were going up or down until they opened, checked in and was not given any information whatsoever, cocktails are pre mixed. I paid extra for a seaview room and the view to the left was a view of the sea but straight ahead and to the right were bins, staff break area and a car park. Once I’d checked in I received an email to check everything was ok. So I responded with regard to the view and was told reception would contact me. They did and offered to upgrade me for an extortionate price. Not quite sure how that would help me. Bathrobe in bedroom had a huge tear in it and the pool towel that we were given on the first day was torn and shabby. Overall I have rated a 3 star however I’m not saying this is a bad place to stay it depends what boxes you want ticking, but don’t go there thinking it’s a true 5 star because it isn’t.
