AC Hotel Tenerife

Unfortunately we got a room inside the hotel with just a window to a ventilation shaft. Resulting in permanent noise from top roof bar through this chimney even we've been two floors below. Sleeping only possible after 2am. We informed the reception but no action was taken. Breakfast is good but a hotel should guarantee a good sleep first.
Hotel Silken Atlantida

We had high hopes for our stay at the Silken Atlantida Santa Cruz based on the reviews however we was left very disappointed. The pro’s is that the hotel is in a good location, a quick 5 minute walk from the bus station and there is good shopping around and nice eateries. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was really good with a great buffet selection. The con’s - overall this hotel is poor value for money the rooms are average size for a city centre, we paid extra for the ‘executive’ lounge. We have been lucky enough to have experienced executive lounges in many hotels around the world and this executive lounge is the worst! It’s just on tap coffee ( you have to take your own cups that are supplied in your room) with fruit ( well just apples) and ‘pastries’ (pre packaged tiny single muffins and single pre packed biscuits ) there isn’t even any fresh milk. In a usual executive lounge you are proved with unlimited snacks and soft drinks through out the day with unlimited canapés and alcoholic drinks early evening for an allotted time slot. You really need to rename what you are offering as it is definitely not an executive lounge. The air conditioning in the room was non existent, the room was uncomfortably warm despite having the air conditioner on ‘full’, the lobby areas around the hotel was colder than our room. The room really lacked any little extras, there wasn’t even any glasses in the room just paper cups never mind any complimentary water, tissues, or extra pillows again in the booking we was told we had a pillow menu?!?! In the bathroom there was no light over the shower and the wall made it difficult to get in and out of the shower. The shower gel was to the end of the bath away from the taps I assume to make it easier for house keeping to refill but there was no non slip *****s so anyone with a disability or who is unstable on their feet could be liable to slip. Seriously I’d give this hotel 3 stars at best mainly for the location but it certainly isn’t a 4 start and in my opinion it really wasn’t worth the €113 we paid.
Hotel Taburiente S.C.Tenerife

This is a lovely hotel on the edge of the city centre. We had a first floor room overlooking the park with a small ‘Juliet’ balcony so had a lovely view. Definitely a good choice as many rooms overlook the streets. The room was spacious and modern with a massive bed, which was extremely comfortable. Modern bathroom with rainforest type shower. There was a small fridge in the room which was useful to keep water ( and a couple of beers!) cool. Breakfast was buffet style and there was a good selection of fruit, cereals and hot and cold buffet. We ate out for other meals so can’t comment on lunch or dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There’s a good selection of restaurants within a few minutes walk and more in the centre about 10 minutes walk away. The port is about 15 minutes walk. There’s also a handy supermarket around the corner and a pharmacy next door. The only down side for us was we had great difficulty getting a WiFi signal in our room. No problem with WiFi in the public rooms but it would have been useful to be able to get a good signal in our room. Having said that, we wouldn’t hesitate to book there again.
Hotel Colon Rambla

We stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite overlooking the pool. The room was spacious and comfortable and had a fridge with drinks, nespresso machine and both a bath and shower. Very comfortable, quiet and dark for sleeping. Air conditioning worked well but we chose to leave the windows open on to the balcony instead for fresh air, and the road outside wasn’t too noisy. The road is the Ramblas itself, very busy at peak hour but ok at night. In the morning you can hear school children. Breakfast offered a huge choice of fresh foods, hot and cold, wide variety of fruit, really nothing missing. We had dinner here but it wasn’t that wonderful. The welcome at reception was excellent and the man explained how we could find parking nearby. We parked at Iberostar hotel and paid for it, but we figured it was easier than combing the streets for a free place, and at least we were only paying while our car was parked. About 12€ for 24 hours.
Urban Anaga Hotel

We were warmly welcomed on check in. This is a modern chic hotel. The decor and furniture is very nice. The bedroom was very spacious and bright and the bathroom was very modern with a very powerful rain shower! Comfortable beds and good soundproofing. There is a cosy tapas bar on the ground floor and a lively open air roof bar. Very impressed with this hotel and excellent value for money! Highly recommended!
