We loved everything about this hotel! Location was great- just above the old town and pedestrian street. Owners/staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good and snacks were welcoming! The rooms and public areas were meticulously clean, well appointed and many with water view. We loved having the 2 cats in the outdoor area! If you have a car, be aware that finding the hotel the first time can be a challenge and parking can be difficult. Driving to the hotel and finding parking requires patience and a sense of humor. Also its a steep walk to town center so don't stay here unless you're a good walker or have good parking luck.

A lovely little quirky hotel in the centre of Santa Cruz. Our room was very clean, large and comfortable and had everything we needed for a nice week away. There is a nice courtyard area with an aviary and foi Tain as well as a sun terrace with nice seating. The staff were extremely pleasant and the continental breakfast more than enough to set you up for the day. The hotel is well situated just above the town however there are steep steps to get back And forth or the elevator at the end of the road. All in all excellent.

Classy little hotel near the centre of Santa Cruz. Some traffic noise, but overall quite peaceful given its location. Whoever was responsible for the design clearly has taste, even though the room furniture is a bit IKEA-ish. Restful neutral paintwork and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable, other than the wooden headbord. For some reason the Spanish don't seem to go for padded headboards - if they are not wood, they are wrought iron. Managed to bang my head twice in the night! The TV was very small and old-fashioned, but not really an issue as hardly any English channels anyway - just Spanish and German. There is some noise from the room above and also the dining room in the morning - coffee machine grinding the beans, for example. We were in Room 5, which is right next to the reception and the entrance'exit external door, so maybe the other rooms do not suffer this. It's an old building, so to be expected. The staff are lovely - very gentle and polite, particularly Selena and Maria. No restaurant facilities, so only breakfast, which is non-cooked (other than a boiled egg if requsted!) ie cheeses, cold meats, etc. So a bit samey day after day, but always very fresh. The dining room is very small - four little tables in a line against the wall, all close together, plus one larger round table. It was deathly quiet on our first morning, with nobody talking, so rather uncomfortable being right next to the next table. A bit of music would have relieved the atmosphere. It was slightly 'buzzier' the next morning as there was a group of Germans sat at the round table talking animatedly. We chose to eat outside (which we like doing, anyway when the weather is nice) for the rest of our stay, although this is a bit of a palaver, as it meant loading up a tray and then walking down a long flight of steps, and then up some more steps to get to the patio, which is some way away, and also quite small, by the way. Just enough space for two sunbeds. I realise that I have made a few negative comments - these are not really criticisms - I'm just pointing out things as they are, in case the issues I mention are important to other potential guests. I would not hesitate in staying there again.

Best hotel in town, very friendly, very familiar, real close to or even in the historic centre. Extremely well kept with a fine and varied breakfast. We've enjoyed the stay and if we will return to the eastern part of the Island, the San Telmo will be for shure our favourite hotel.

This hotel is a little gem in the heart of Santa Cruz old town. It is a lovely fusion of old and new. Our room was in the old building, but had all the modern facilities that you would expect and was really quiet - the town is quiet in any case, but once the door was shut it was completely peaceful. The room was spacious the bed a king size and a good size bathroom with decent (German level of) shower pressure. The staff at the hotel are really friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was fantastic - buffet style continental breakfast with boiled eggs and as much (really nice) coffee as you can drink on request. During the day a bean to cup coffee machine was available for guests as well as fresh fruit and cakes/biscuits and tea. We used the roof top sun terrace a few times as well as the room’s own balcony. The sun is on the terrace all morning, and then as the afternoon progresses it moves into shadow. At night the terrace and courtyard are lit by candles - beautiful. The hotel is a short walk from the sea front (from the roof top terrace you look out over a few buildings and then the sea and, on a clear day, Tenerife in the background. We ate at a couple of local restaurants (La Lonja, La Placeta, La Chalana) all great (fresh fish, etc) and sensibly priced compared to the UK. The music and dance classes across the square along the road provide a great background vibe into the evening for both the hotel and La Chalana restaurant (but they do stop before bedtime!) We hired a car - recommended to see the island, but: -the roads on the island, while very well built and maintained, have plenty of sharp turns as the zigzag up and down the mountain -in (the old) town the streets are narrow (tip: hire a small car) -the hotel has on street parking and sometimes the closest space was a 5min walk away, but we always got a space (tip: hire a small car). Summary: a brilliant base for exploring the island - we will be back.

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel San Telmo but echo some of the comments from previous guests. The rooms are lovely and clean and the views and terrace are beautiful. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee and fruit. Sadly there are 2 cats on site that woke us up daily crying in the courtyard, this generally started at 04:00 AM and they were also allowed on all of the hotel furniture in shared and public areas (great if you love cats but a little restrictive if you are allergic to them as I am). We stayed over NYE and the hotel isn’t really equipped for this at all. After we couldn’t find any parking the hotel didn’t respond to our email and on calling advised that they didn’t know what we should do and where we could leave our car. Parties started at midday and finished at 05:30 AM and sadly the rooms are not remotely soundproof. The first night of our stay was a Saturday and also very loud with bangers being let off and a party which went on until 02:00 AM. We had breakfast on the first day but as per the reviews from other guests felt that it was a little overpriced for what was available.

Just the best! Just the cutest little hotel with the absolute best service! We loved the general vibe, sitting on the terrace at night, the comfortable rooms - would love to visit again!
