Guest House Santa Clara

I made the reservation on the booking site in a hurry the day before my stay, so I missed an important message from the hotel. I was lucky to be able to check in to the hotel, but please note that this is a guesthouse and there is no one always at the front desk. In return, I think the room rate is 10 euros cheaper than hotels of the same standard nearby. The room is spacious enough, clean, and modern. It's good for relaxing, but since the room is so spacious, I would have liked a desk where I could spread out my laptop. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby, but the supermarket is a bit far away. It is a bit far from the center of Coimbra, so it is quiet at night.

The guesthouse is located right on the river bank at the entrance to the city centre. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the library. Restaurants and various shops are in the immediate vicinity. Right in front of the bridge at the sports field there is a large public parking lot to park the rental car, from which it is about 2 minutes to the pension. The delivery of the entrance codes by mail for the house works without any problems. The rooms are nicely furnished and very clean. The receptionist was very reserved but nice. We have not found out what language she understands apart from Portuguese, although we have tried English, French, German, Spanish and some Italian. The room windows/balconies face the street, which runs right next to the house. This is very busy, so it's never really quiet. If you have trouble sleeping with background noise, don't come here.

It is a very comfortable guesthouse. The reception was good and Sofia very attentive and polite. The accommodations are comfortable, the room clean, the bedding of good quality and the bed very good. Access is easy and it is located close to tourist attractions.

The inn has great facilities, is very clean, has nice rooms, nice staff and it is lovingly made overall. The location right on the street isn't the best, but that wasn't too bad. It's a short walk to the old town of Coimbra.

La camera molto carina, spaziosa, pulita e fornita di lenzuola e asciugamani ricamati con il logo. Anche se dava sulla strada non si sentivano i rumori esterni. Dalla finestra del bagno si godeva di una magnifica vista sulla città vecchia. La struttura dotata anche di una cucina con tutto il necessario per potersi fare un bel caffè e mangiare dei biscottini offerti dalla casa, dista 5 minuti a piedi dalla citta che si raggiunge attraversando il ponte ed è vicina a Bar e ristoranti interessanti. Vi consiglio il bar Les Palmieres per fare colazione ed il ristorante Sabores da Romeira per cenare abbondantemente e a prezzo interessante. Molto carina anche Sofia che si è premurata di chiamarmi per darmi tutte le indicazioni necessarie: si vede che ci tiene alla sua struttura perchè era tutto "muito lindo".

Aunque siempre creímos que la perfección era imposible de alcanzar, Sofía y María lo han conseguido en GH Santa Clara. Estuvimos ahí mi mujer y yo desde el viernes 25 hasta el domingo 27 de Agosto. Nada más reservar nuestro viaje a Coimbra se pusieron en contacto con nosotros dándonos todo tipo de útiles indicaciones respecto de cómo llegar y de que hacer y ver en esta ciudad (que es mucho) y se mostraron siempre atentas y dispuestas a ayudar. A nosotros nos recibió Sofía y nos despidió María. Ambas encantadoras y con esa educación y cortesía natural al que ya nos tienen acostumbrados nuestros vecinos portugueses. La habitación perfecta. Nosotros estuvimos en la "Santa Isabel" y nos encantó. Todo nuevo, limpio y decorado con un gusto magnífico. La cama comodísima. Y el baño perfecto. Y muy bien de precio. Está en una zona muy tranquila de Coimbra (al otro lado del río Mondego), zona tranquila y segura, cerca de Portugal dos Pequeninos, Santa Clara la Vieja, Santa Clara la Nueva y San Francisco. En la planta baja, entrando a la derecha, tienen una cocina encantadora con cafetera, microondas, distinto menaje, café e infusiones. Todo un detalle. No obstante, se puede desayunar en la zona perfectamente. Nosotros lo hicimos, los dos días que estuvimos, en Croissanteria Portuguesa de maravilla. Y muy importante si se va en coche: se puede dejar en el parking del San Francisco (está a 50 metros), vigilado, amplio, limpio, iluminado y, encima, gratis ¿qué más se puede pedir?
