Disgusting, run down resort. Rooms unclean at check in and every other day after maid service (random unknown hairs in the shower, caked dust everywhere not in plain sight, and some places that are, a coffee maker too unclean to use, toilet room was never once cleaned thoroughly). Property itself is no better than the rooms. The water in the jacuzzi tub was a disconcerting cloudy color, and the button to activate it turns bubbles on for less than 1 minute, before shutting off and being unusable for another 10 minutes each time. Pool was advertised as heated during the season…a complete lie as both are freezing (including the indoor pool). The food here is disgraceful and unsanitary. Snack bar “sandwiches” (which are already an insult to any paying guest) are kept plastic wrapped in an open refrigerated area frequented by ants. When we went to the front desk to complain, they pretended to be surprised that ants were crawling in and all over the sandwiches, then proceeded to leave the infested snacks there all afternoon for everyone else. The “tapas” offer zero vegetarian or gluten free options, which are beyond scarce property wide to begin with. There are supposedly markings indicating allergens on each item. They were missing from 1/4 of the items, and dangerously wrong on another 1/4. Almost nothing is kept at the right temperature, so if you like hot food offered hot, go elsewhere. There are giant cockroaches running around the buffet floor…one nearly ran up my leg at breakfast. The open bar for all inclusive guests is garbage with no value to be had. The main bar is always closed, with a sign that reads “for our all inclusive guests only”, and any brand name liquor to be found there is only for an unadvertised up charge. The brands they do include are unpalatable, and their “specialty cocktails” come out of a juice fountain. Nothing tastes good. The worst part of the experience had to be being helped by a friendly employee who was trying to help us find ant free gluten free sandwiches one day. He was kind and eager to please, but the resort had run out of bread to make a sandwich on. When he told us the sad truth, we went to the manager to further complain about the unavailability of this item. Instead of acknowledging that the property doesn’t have enough product (and doesn’t care), she said he misspoke because he’s “weak minded”. She then told us someone was coming specifically to make such a sandwich for us in less than 5 minutes. We had one in 25-30. Never in my life have I seen a manager speak with such disrespect of a kind employee. Disgusting behavior unfitting for a supervisor of any kind. The only plus about this resort is a handful of pleasant employees at the bar that should find better work for nicer people elsewhere. My favorite part of the vacation here is that it’s come to an end.
