my experience at the beautiful hotel. The staff was absolutely amazing, they really went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. However, I have to be honest about the food proposal. It didn't quite meet the high standards of a five-star establishment like Six Sense. In fact, it felt more like a two-star experience. It's quite disappointing that we could only order through room service. I believe there's room for improvement in this aspect.

I hadn’t read any of the reviews online before arriving and so wasn’t aware the hotel was considered to have service issues. Overall, I both enjoyed the hotel, some aspects of the service and felt uncomfortable about others. The challenge for any service establishment is that if a customer has one bad interaction for every 5 good ones, we just remember the bad ones. Mine were: 1) being told in my first 30 minutes at the hotel by the lady at the spa that she hadn’t read my email request sent the day before because she has too many emails to read 2) being told off like a naughty school boy by a hostess at dinner for sitting at a table without telling her after being shown to the table by her colleague. 3) the breakfast staff - very polite and lovely - running around, stressed, not writing down orders. It took me 40 minutes after arriving to establish that they had forgotten to process my breakfast order by which point I had to leave. 4) the breakfast hostess the following day - perfectly rude, unsmiling - telling me I couldn’t sit outside because they were still cleaning it, despite the outside being where most guests want to sit and breakfast being fully open. She could have just asked me if I was ok to sit outside whilst they cleaned or if I’d be ok to wait. She then told the cleaner guys not to hurry up and relax in Spanish, assuming I don’t know the language and as if I was the problem for being there There were loads of great staff too. When the breakfast order didn’t come, a manager offered to send breakfast to my terrace when I was free later in the day. Fantastic. When I called the following day and asked for the same breakfast on my terrace, I was told by staff that breakfast is only served in the main restaurant unless I order from a separate room service menu charged extra. Knowing the hotel is capable of doing something and then being told they won’t is quite annoying. When I asked for the tray to be cleared on their much touted app, no one read the message for an hour. When I returned to my room later in the day the remains of the breakfast were all over the floor, a swarm of birds around it. The coffee grounds - after staff removed the mess - remained on the floor until I checked out. There is no need to encourage use of the app if staff are not as responsive as if calling. I shared the above feedback with the someone as I left. The manager was notified by a member of staff I’d like to have a chat but she didn’t bother to come over, which was weird but I was rushing for a taxi so didn’t push it. It’s hard to therefore remember the good bits! But there were: stunningly decorated area overlooking the sea, lovely pool area, attentive and kind staff around the pool, fun staff by the pharmacy bar, delicious skirt steak by the pool, enjoyable wellness program with professional staff even if the hardware of the spa facilities doesn’t stack up to global peers. The real issue is the hotel wasn’t at all busy. If they make mistak

I don't usually write reviews but after my second stay at this property I felt compelled so that I save others the money and time. This was my 2nd stay given my first was such a disaster that I was invited back, not that you would have known this as nobody made themselves known to us as invited guests, not even a note in the room or email. Utterly bizarre. Anyway... the hotel itself is a thing of beauty, the architecture, location, views. The pictures don't do it justice frankly. Stunning. Now the people. On my second trip we took our daughter, she absolutely loved the kids club and the staff there are first class. A lovely set up with lovely professional staff. We stayed with her the whole time and witnessed how passionate the team at kids club are, truly exceptional people. That's where exceptional people end. Maybe management should have kids club staff running the hotel? The rest of the hotel is frankly shocking, almost comically bad. Nobody seems interested in helping and the prices are eye watering when you actually get someone to serve food or drinks... I think my G&T cost around €45 at the pool, a personal record beating Dubai, Miami and Singapore. Though it took me 10mins to find someone willing to make it, then about 15 more before they brought it over.... I was the only person on the pool terrace!!! So getting served obscenely overpriced drinks is a problem. Much like the sub par food offered throughout the premises that commands Mayfair levels of pricing. I could go on and on but I'll end up sounding mean. Save yourself the time, if you are considering spending £1k a night for a hotel like I did, then just got somewhere else.

All started on arrival, our room wasn’t ready until almost 4pm even if rooms shall be ready by 3pm. When we checked into our bedroom we realized that they had given us a reduced mobility room - meaning we had only one sink to share and the toilette/ shower all together in a funny shaped cubicle. We communicated this to the receptionist and she confirmed she would check for a solution- after waiting an hour we called reception. No solution. It took over 3 hours of arguing and really pushing for the managing team to agree to change us, the problem was that they didn’t have another room in the category we have booked and they didn’t want to give us a superior category - which for us wasn’t the thing; we just wanted the room we have paid for - just not a handicap bedroom. Once this problem got solved we were trying to start the holiday again, but this is just impossible. The service is awful, like it couldn’t be worst. Apart from the manager of the pool restaurant which was working upstairs due to the wind- everybody else is doing zero effort !!! If you order a fresh apple juice- you can expect a 10/15 min wait at your breakfast table. For an americano don’t even expect it to arrive. The beach cave for dinner; sounds great but the menu is so poor, they have 10 dishes including starters but out of them 4 were unavailable. The waiter told us they recommend ordering 3/4 dishes each as it’s a sharing south American concept (being from south America I can tell you there’s no South American concept in having ceviche or lamb 😂 ) At the time or placing the order we ask how does it work with the half board pack we were on to then be told the package only includes 2 dishes per head. Isn’t it controversial? If you were to pay you shall order 3/4 per head, however if you are part of the half board pack you only have 2 included. What a joke !!! On our Last morning we had to order coffee and 2 apple juices over 3 times and ended up leaving after 32 min as otherwise we would have missed our flight. Regarding the spa and pool, The main pool isn’t heated, therefore you can’t use it out of season. It’s also packed with kids jumping and screaming around (I thought I read it was for adults) The spa is great however, the steam room wasn’t working, it took us to complain to the spa team from 1pm constantly until it got sorted at around 4pm. The spa pool is tiny but cool for adults but again, we had to share with a family with over 3 kids; even a baby at the spa, other kids with googles at the spa pool!!! Is shocking. We moved to the sauna and after 5 min a 7 year old walks in. It’s a disaster. I would never come back, and I wish I would have read the previous reviews in order to save my time and money!!!! Stay away!! Even if you complain at check out they don’t care- they have the rudest, slowest and most inefficient staff ever seen.

Pros: Extraordinarily beautiful hotel and much attention has been given to all the visual details. Staff is so gracious and friendly. The best hotel gym I’ve ever used and the spa is next level. Cons: On the tech side, the Six Senses app (where you make requests) is sometimes slow. Communication needs improvement. Ordered an omelette at breakfast with no oil. Yesterday it came out perfect. But today it was covered in oil. Didn’t have time to request another because we had to catch our flight. Our rental car was electric and we were hoping they would charge it overnight for us. But they didn’t, so we didn’t have enough juice to make it to Es Vedra like we planned on our last day. Next time we will know to request a full charge overnight on electric rental cars. Small things like this were the issue at this hotel. Also the bathroom was not comfortable. The toilet and the shower share the same space, which is not ideal. Other than that the bathroom situation, the room was wonderful and very aesthetically pleasing.

Just stayed for 4 days at this incredible hotel. This is our first time in Ibiza and the experience of this hotel will ensure we return . The hotel is less than a year old and is technically very advanced. You are encouraged to use your phone to manage most things through the hotel app. From closing the curtains, turning the lights on and off , ordering room service etc. the room was fabulous with breathtaking views of the infinity pool and the sea. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept on. Breakfast was both buffet and table service. Every type of requirement was catered for and very delicious. There are a variety of restaurants which cater for most tastes. The swimming pool and surrounding area are beautifully appointed and a wonderful bar and restaurant. The hotel rooms and restaurants are expensive but you get wonderful service and I would say it’s good value. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Service was exemplary from Oliver the director of rooms to everyone we encountered. One felt that they really wanted to make ones stay memorable. The hotel is on a very large plot and requires a fair bit of walking and therefore you need comfortable shoes. I can’t wait to return

We managed to pick three days of howling wind, driving rain and cloudy days - the sun came out as we were taking off to leave! The staff here were great and although outdoor dining was impossible they did their very best to accommodate guests needs. Breakfasts were great - beautifully served in a magnificent dining room which, I imagine in fine weather, has wonderful views. We had three dinners in the Caves - which is a special place and enjoyed the magnificent spa. We are great fans of the Six Senses chain - this was our fifth stay and we are returning to the Douro Valley in July 2022. They get it right more than they get it wrong - and if you are at all unhappy they do everything they can to make it right.
