Hotel was clean and presentable, and the staff were all friendly and very helpful. Had a 3rd floor room with a balcony which was handy for drying swim gear. However, in no particular order: Beds were rock hard Lifts were hit and miss, sometimes the floor levels didn’t quite meet, so had to beware of tripping from the lift to your floor/sometimes the lift opened at level 2 but doors didn’t open Take a European extension lead for charging your gadgets – the only sockets available were for the tv and fridge, which incidentally didn’t keep anything cold! We unplugged the tv! No tea/coffee making facilities in rooms Swimming pool was freezing cold, not heated nor by the sun whatever time you used during the day in full sunlight. Hotel charges €1.50 for swim towels and expect them back straightaway – can’t take them to your room to dry out and use again, another money-maker Breakfast is mixed continental – breads, cakes and cheeses, or cereals & yogurts and fruit, scrambled egg and bacon Breakfast is 7-9.30am; Evening meal is 7-8pm and you’re expected to depart restaurant as soon as you are finished eating Evening meals were disappointing – you book at breakfast time and at 7pm, within seconds of sitting down, meals are ready. Poor selection and we didn’t feel they reflected Italian cuisine. Even though we paid for half board, I think we only ate in twice. Italians charge €2 per night per person for tourist tax, bear that in mind for end of your stay Tips for surrounding area Sant Agnello is a lovely town, about a 10 min walk, and Sorrento is at least 30 mins away – beware the traffic though. When you cross the road at a zebra crossing, put your foot out into the road and make eye contact with drivers, otherwise they don’t stop for you. Overall, a lovely holiday, but wouldn’t agree that hotel is worthy of a 4*, more a 3
