Let me start by saying that the hotel staff, in the main, were very nice.Unfortunately, however this hotel does not meet the description and bears no resemblance to the now dated photos shown in the adverts. It is not a "resort" hotel for beach /sun loving holiday makers, more a drop-in overnighter for students and folks on tour. The hotel is down a small side street off the very busy main road and is located in a residential and commercial area.We were picked up from the drop off point by an older gent in his decrepit works van, which raised immediate red flags. The van, with its one working door, then dropped us at what I thought was the back-door but turned out to be the main entrance to the hotel. The van was parked there most days, not really a welcoming sight. The room was a decent size however the bathroom was smaller than our wardrobes at home. The wife and myself are not big people but it was a struggle getting into the shower cubicle and manouvering around in it. No room for shelves for your shampoos, soaps etc so it all went on the shower floor meaning you had to carefully bend down without bumping the lever and switching the shower off. There was a kettle but no welcoming tea or coffee, and you cannot get towels for the pool or beach. The "double" bed was 2 singles pushed together. The wall-paper was coming away from the wall at points, and one of the lamps was held together with masking tape. Also,be aware..... you can hear everything, and I mean everything, from the neighbouring rooms. The bar was in the main entrance area and was rarely manned and very sterile, no music, TV's switched off (there were no English speaking channels anyway) and not somewhere you could get a cold beer ar a sandwhich on a whim. The restuarant is below ground level and has no windows, not much chance of a romatic dinner overlooking the ocean or a beautiful garden I'm afraid. As with the bar, there is no music, but you do get paper table clothes, s&p in sachets, not shakers, and the food is re-heated for you as you have to order at breakfast to let them prepare it. Nothing is cooked to order, there are no fresh vegetables, you mainly get lettuce with everything. The breakfast selection is sparce. No bacon, sausages, beans, tomatoes, hash browns, fresh yoghurts (there are supermarket carton ones). The staple appears to be boiled potatoes diced up with some tinned mini-hot-dogs! There are no bar-snacks of any kind on offer between breakfast and dinner, nothing that would help you enjoy your experience. The pool area is small, no room for loungers only deck chairs, and the rooftop terrace with views of the surrounding tenaments on 3 sides is the only other option. Neither area is manned, so if you want a cool drink, snack or ice-cream, forget it. There are no parasols or waste bins anywhere, and the whirlpools are filthy. The beach is a good 30 minute walk, and the main road is only 50 yards from the front door so be careful. The traffic is horrendous, there are no c

Only here because our tour company had to rebook close to our departure date. That the hotel could accommodate 20+ people at short notice in Sorrento at near peak season should have raised a red flag Where to start? Our room was tiny, with peeling wallpaper and undersized beds (I am average height and my feet hung over the end). There is nowhere to open more than one suitcase at a time. The beds are hard but tolerable. The safe used an actual key (have to request), quaint but not an issue. The Aircon was fine, if on the noisy side. Breakfast is very basic, with a few "hot" options. The scrambled eggs were barely warm and on one occasion stone cold. The wait staff were bordering on rude. The dining room is in the basement and lacks atmosphere or style - not somewhere you would want to linger. Although near the railway, we didn't really have a problem with the trains. The way the hotel is orientated both sides are near the tracks. Road noise was not an issue. The pool is small and water freezing. The surrounding area is small and unloved. There is a roof terrace with fine views, but nowhere to sit or shade. Seems to be set up for sunbathing and use the hot tubs there. The hot tubs were filthy with black crud in the bottom and a charge to use - needless to say we didn't bother. You reached the roof by lift, but can't walk down as the fire door / only exit was locked!!! Pretty sure that would get the place a fine in most countries. I could go on, but imagine Fawlty Towers and you would not be far off the mark. Finally as you try to leave the owner will berate you to return the plastic key card.

Brilliant hotel and very friendly staff. Very clean room and beautiful hotel roof top terrace with views out across to Mount Vesuvius and Naples. Food was very high standard and always lots of choice. Handy location near to train and bus so we went everywhere. Staff were great and helped us with everything. Would definitely recommend.

This is not a 4 star hotel or even a 3 plus. It is very basic. The rooms are small with very little storage and the beds are too hard. Our room overlooked the street and was very noisy with traffic and dogs barking from the apartments opposite. The breakfast is a buffet. It's continental style. No English breakfast. The evening meal was repetitive and we were not served any vegetables just lettuce with everything. All in all we were very disappointed with this hotel.

An incredible family run hotel. The most welcoming and accommodating place. Beautiful food, immaculately clean and fantastic jumping off point for adventures. Limoncello spritz is a must! Suited both myself (25) and my gran (83) perfectly, we cannot wait to return! Poppy :)

Very well maintained hotel. Sadly some aspects did not come up to the same standard. The bedroom my wife and I had was less than 100 mts. from the noisy railway. Not enough storage for an eleven day stay. Had a tv, but nothing in English. We arrived to find they had given us three tea bags, no milk or spoons. We had to wash our two tea cups every day ourselves, and they were never changed. At breakfast, the only hot food was scrambled egg/mushrooms and chopped up potato and bits of sausage......nothing fried. Every dinner bar one, was served with lettuce and potato,....no veg. (One of our fellow diners had a live worm in his lettuce which he took a video of to show to the management. Him and his sister were so put off by this, they checked out the next day and flew home). The dining room and lounge had no ambience , no nice music as in other hotels we have stayed in over many years. Sorry, we won't be going back. p.s. may suit train spotters who don't eat much.

The staff are friendly and would go out their way to help. Their was plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner had good options for everyone (Vegetarian, sea food, classic Italian). Would highly recommend this hotel for its ideal location as its a 5 minute scenic walk to the train station and bus stops which is a 5 minute train journey to Sorrento. The location of the hotel allows you to live amongst locals which I found friendly. The local restuarants are high quality but you need to look around as some are shut during the hotest time of the day. The hotel is ideal for family, couples and friends as the pool area has seats by the pool and tables & chairs that are in the shade of lime trees. We had a brilliant time and felt thoroughly welcomed will come back!!

Not to be overlooked! It’s basic with a pool, very clean and the staff make the place as well as being minutes away from the trainline that runs everywhere you need to go in this beautiful part of the world. Don’t expect a posh bar, but you can get drinks from them. Food is okay but limited choices for vegetarians, rather than half board I’d recommend using the local cafes and restaurants, they are very reasonable and for my pallet I found it better but that’s just my own opinion and there’s plenty of good reviews on the food. We’ve had a great holiday using it as a hub and have no complaints.
