Seehotel Billroth

Hotel with atmosphere, some beautiful old rooms, some modern. You could tell the shortage of staff: no unscheduled meals possible. Very nice waitresses and waiters, at the reception they always made an effort. Very nice property with meadow and nature, beautiful jetty with entrance to the lake. In any case, an unforgettable stay.

We were invited to a dream wedding at Lake Wolfgang and were really looking forward to our stay. Due to the longer travel time, we booked three double rooms for our family for the weekend. After the written request on our part, we received the offer for the room including half board. After checking with the hotel, we were told that this was a typographical error on the part of the employee and that the price for bed and breakfast was the same. Interesting.. Half-board and breakfast have the same price there...., but good... The wedding began at 2:00 p.m. - for us it was a matter of course to get the room before the wedding started, just to be able to relax to freshen up and move. There were also several families with small children, who also wanted to take care of the little ones. Another interesting experience as the rooms weren't ready until 3pm! So an hour after the start of the wedding! It is incomprehensible to me how such a misorganization can come about. But well... After several urgent requests we got a room in advance. The wedding then took place on the jetty next to the boathouse. Very nice ambience there... unfortunately without sun protection... but umbrellas were made available to the wedding party. With the result that the back rows got a view of open umbrellas. Here I ask myself the question, why not invest in an awning that you can unroll if necessary? Especially if the website advertises weddings? The agape took place in the adjoining boathouse. A nice, clean house, unfortunately without a glass washer... so after the first round you got the prosecco served in a lemonade glass.... Dinner was scheduled for 7 p.m.... the starter was served around 8 p.m. or later. The taste was very good, but the portion size would have been too small for small children. After that, the company was allowed to wait again, because the kitchen staff didn't manage to serve the main courses (either the side dish - which should have been fried pink! or the fish) at the same time for the 60 guests. The main dishes were successively served at intervals of more than 20 minutes. Unbelievable when you consider that the hotel's website advertises seminars and weddings and then it is not possible to satisfy all or most of the guests at the same time. The dessert then took over an hour again, which messed up the entire process of the wedding. On the positive side, the food tasted very good. Another negative aspect is that the service staff wasn't able to clear away the empty plates, the set plate was taken away after the dessert after the guests had asked for it several times. After initial misunderstandings when booking the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. Attentive service, consistently friendly hotel staff, a very clean hotel and an excellent breakfast buffet.

We were able to get married in church in St. Gilgen in August 2021, followed by a boat trip across Lake Wolfgang and mooring for the Agape in the boathouse of the Seehotel Billroth. The boathouse and its jetty right on the water are perfect for a cozy champagne reception in the afternoon! Everything else in the Billroth was also perfect: the rooms (also for the guests), the really good menu for dinner, the extremely friendly service staff... everything was really great! The mobile bar was kept open until 5 a.m. according to our wishes, so there was no official curfew! The Billroth also took care of tapping the keg and the wedding cake (which we were very happy about :-)). We also got decorations / tables spontaneously, the staff were really very helpful and accommodating! All in all, we had a wonderful wedding in the Seehotel Billroth, with a constant view of Lake Wolfgang and the mountains. :-) Thanks again to the whole team!

Wunderschöne Hotelanlage am See! – In gepflegtem Park mit Zugang zu eigener Sonnen- und Badeplattform, nebst Bootshaus, am See. Zimmer mit Panoramablick (z.B. # 150) geräumig, kleinem Balkon, Sofagruppe, Bad von WC getrennt = sehr zum Wohlfühlen. ABER: keine Minibar! Nicht mal eine Flasche Wasser zum Empfang!! Das bei **** Klasse Dinner im Restaurant war nicht möglich, da Küche blockiert mit Essensvorbereitung für Seminar-Gäste! Für Private Gäste ist die Küche (nach Probe) z.Z. nicht zu empfehlen. Im Gespräch mit der GL kam heraus, daß auch dieses Haus aufgrund der Pandemie unter extremen Personalmangel leidet. Das gilt für die Gastronomie rund um diesen zauberhaften See. Um halbwegs zu überleben hat man sich auf den Schwerpunkt. Seminare, Events und Hochzeiten konzentriert. „Wir Privaten“ werden dadurch unverantwortlich vernachlässigt! Die Rate von € 250.—pro Nacht inkl. überschaubarem Frühstück ist somit in keiner Weise **** gerechtfertigt. Die wunderschönen Angaben auf der IT-Seite gehören ins Land des „Es war einmal…“. – Nach vier Übernachtungen fuhren wir sehr unzufrieden ab. Kommen wir wieder? Wahrscheinlich ja, denn das Gespräch mit der GL verlief sachlich positiv und einsichtig. Das Geschäft mit dem „Privat-Bereich“ soll nunmehr Schritt für Schritt für die neue Saison kräftig erneuert werden. Wie gesagt: dieses Hotel könnte ein Traumhotel sein, wenn…… Wir wünschen dem Management Gutes Gelingen und werden 2021 gern „prüfend“ wiederkommen.

idéalement placé en hauteur face au très joli Wolfgangsee le Seehotel a fière allure, nous avons une chambre avec une magnifique vue sur le lac et un petit balcon. Le bâtiment présente un charme désuet et sobre, la chambre est très agréable spacieuse et élégante . La terrasse et la plage privée sont ses atouts. petit déjeuner correct par contre le restaurant où nous avons mangé le premier soir est surfait. petits bémols: le service assez amateur n'est pas à la hauteur et le wifi est déplorable
