What an absolutely unique and delightful property! It was a pleasure to stay here and experience a bit of history. These buildings have been carefully and lovingly restored through the efforts of the property owner and a dedicated architect—both men were at the homestay during my visit, which was a treat. Comfy bed, delicious food, lovely and attentive staff—if you need anything, just ask. I enjoyed just wandering around and getting lost in the village. Oh yes, I do not speak Chinese and traveled alone, but the owner speaks perfect English and contacted me in advance of my stay. He added me on WeChat and was hugely supportive in getting me to Chengyang and Lost World from Longji area. The staff were ready with Baidu translator so communication was a breeze.

There is a large dumpling forest in the boss’s yard. You can see the dumplings when you open the balcony door. I feel that my mood has improved. Since it was off-season when we went, there were only a few of us in the evening. The boss had a kung fu tea table on the first floor. We were on the first floor to enjoy tea. The boss also warmly helped us to have a stove for us to warm. It is really a very good homestay. The night view of Danzhou Island is really beautiful.
