Zhangjiajie Giant Salamander Hot Spring Resort Hotel

The service staff is very good. The hotel is a certain distance from the city, so it is more suitable to drive by yourself. The environment is very good. You can see the beautiful scenery of the mountains and the sunrise in the morning. It is also very quiet to sleep at night. You can also soak in hot springs. There are many options for hot spring baths and steam saunas. The only drawback is that the sound insulation is not very good. There are not many options for eating in the hotel. You need to go somewhere else after a while.

Facilities: The restaurant closes after 6 PM, requiring a 10-minute walk to a nearby farmhouse to order food. We weren't informed at check-in that dinner wasn't served after 6 PM, nor were we told to call ahead to make reservations. We walked there from 6 PM until 7:30 PM, and still hadn't had any food. The kids were starving. Environment: Driving up requires a treacherous, winding mountain road, which can be challenging for beginners. Daytime is safer, so arriving at night is not recommended. Service: The front desk service was truly terrible. They assigned us the wrong room type, even though we had a bathtub. They tried to stall us for time, asking us to check it out, but we were told to accept a standard room. So why did I pay extra for a bathtub room instead of a standard room? Even if you pay a lot of money, you can't be fooled. In the end, we were given a room with a bathtub but a broken phone. I'm so astonished (and they didn't even explain the check-in, dining, and amenities service hours. We had to wait and figure things out on our own. The service was truly terrible). This wasn't a five-star experience at all. This was a good hotel, but the service let it down... Not only did they assign us the wrong room, delaying us by an hour, but they also forced us to accept a downgrade at the original price (with no refund or compensation). It was such a ridiculous way of handling things. I didn't get angry, thinking I'd fooled customers.
